I moved into a new apartment with these in one of the bottom cabinets. I moved 3 months ago and never stored anything in there since I noticed them. I’ve been spraying insecticide specifically for cigarette/ pantry beetles and pests and also have traps set out and I’m consistently vacuuming and cleaning them up and re applying the insecticide but they keep coming out. Do you think the source could be between the kitchen cabinet and wall or floor by any chance? The maintenance team is going crazy trying to get rid of them too

First thing is to identify your particular beetle pest.
Send a sample to an entomologist and they will tell you what you need to know.

after 15 disinfections of my flat, they can't seem to kill these beetles and we've had to move out. The pest control say they're living in the air vents of our apartment block and can't seem to get to the source. It's been more than a year they've been trying to find the nest.

Has the pest control company identified what beetle they are?
You/they need to send some samples to an entomologist. Identifying is the key.
      Hope this helps @angeleenakumar9312

@@PestInterceptorsyes, they were convinced they were woodworm but these beetles can fly, after I argued with them they realised they were biscuit beetles living in the air vents between apartments.
My landlord placed me into temporary accomodation for a period of 6-8 weeks whilst they sort the problem. It's been 7 months and my apartment is still uninhabitable because after multiple disinfections the pest control company can't find the source of the bugs or seem to kill them for good. They said I will not be able to return to my apartment for the foreseeable future.

@@Akhdhdjdbj if it’s not wood worm beetles (the maggot of the beetles do the damage not the beetles) and it is stored product beetles, the beetles will remain for years unless the food source/breeding material is removed.
Killing the adult beetles is less than pointless and is probably breaking the law as it is certainly not the least toxic method!
We can send a sample to an entomologist to find out. It’s charged at £75 plus vat.

Since all the food was removed from my apartment, I believe they are living off a food source in another flat and coming to mine via air vents.

Hello, we have started to notice small beetle like bugs around our flat, mainly around the window area! They do look a lot like biscuit beetles. We have never had this issue until very recently since it has gotten warm. We checked all the cupboards today and sealed all the food properly but we did not find any nests like presented in the video! We do have vents in our flat that we can open and close, but we are getting to the point where we really dont know where do they come from! Any advice would he very helpfull!!!! 🙃

Many stored product beetles look similar….they also look very similar to wood worm beetles.
Sometimes it’s worth sending samples off to an entomologist. We can do this for you if you’re interested. It’s a chargeable service.

Been getting the same problem… they don’t go away completely. You can try smoke bombs and plugs, hoovering frequently, changing beddings, putting foods in sealed jars and hoovering behind cabinets. I’m getting tired of them too…

I have a infestation of what I think is wood lice/slaters in my home they only come out at night or in dark places they have a hard outer shell with larva about the thickness of a safety pin I think they feed on crumbs as unlike carpet Beatles they haven’t ruined the carpet and also unlike biscuit Beatles they haven’t invaded into my cupboards they only seem to be on the floor also I do not see any signs of them affecting the woodwork/skirting however they do scurry into the cracks behind them
Any idea how to get rid of them without calling pest control

Ever figure out what they are? I have the same thing. Only see them on the floor, no signs of wood damage, seem to be attracted to cloth more than anything, zero sight of infestation literally anywhere in my one bedroom. Found 2 in the bed, tore up the bed and no sight of any of them, just think they were attracted to the warmth. Most of them are pretty slow moving. Found a ton lined in my patio sliding door, all dead. Assuming that’s where they come in from, don’t seem to last long or make it to far

I have a infestation of them all over the bedroom window on the inside and they only came a few months ago and they are always on the window in the day and then they disappear at night and then they come out again in the day. I have checked soft toys and through some clothes but not seen any signs of an infestation but they are normally on the window and sometimes fly up and down the window and around the room.

Can I send you a picture on instagram of them and maybe a video at some point of them on the window

@@jacktanser2012 they are going to the window because the adults are attracted to light because light is outside where other beetles are to mate with.
If it’s only that room they are in that means what they are living in (as grubs) is likely to be in that room.
If they look like the beetles in the video it’s either stored product beetles or if you’re unlucky wood worm beetles. Wood worm will be leaving little holes in the surface of wood.
