Adult rice weevils are capable of penetrating through food packaging and can invade through very small gaps in box folds. You can always inspect packages for any holes, and if a package is see-through, you can move the product around and see if there are any weevils inside. However if you're dealing with a large infestation we do recommend you throw away such packaged foods before you start cleaning/treatment in order to ensure total elimination.

Not the best advice in this video. To throw out your entire pantry is absolutely insane, and do you really want to use chemicals where your store food? Yeah, yeah, it’s safe once it’s dry, or doesn’t cause harm to humans, but who’s telling you that? The chemical companies. When have they ever lied before? Anyway, what I’ve done in the past is move everything into thicker sealable bags. If weevils are in there, they now stay in there assuming it’s properly sealed. I’ll then take those bags and rotate them through my freezer for a few days, but when I pull them out, the bag stays sealed and the food stays inside. If there were weevils they are now dead and can be rinsed, washed or strained out. Now you don’t need to money out the window. Once everything is in bags pull everything out you pantry, clean, and spray surfaces with straight vinegar. Personally, I just let it dry on surfaces. To keep from having an issue again, anything new you buy put into a sealable bag and freeze for a few days and then move to pantry.

Well I guess I’m lucky cuz I found a live one in the bag of rice I just opened. Bought it at the store a month ago
If I throw everything out, how have I avoided hundreds of dollars of food damage?
I found weevils in my bulk drive for the first time ever just now! It's a 20lb bag not in a pantry.
Could be due to temperature in that area.
I today opened some brown rice and jesus the ammount of these that were in there.. they seemed dead
So, they can be even in unopened rice and other packages? Must i throw them away also?
Adult rice weevils are capable of penetrating through food packaging and can invade through very small gaps in box folds. You can always inspect packages for any holes, and if a package is see-through, you can move the product around and see if there are any weevils inside. However if you're dealing with a large infestation we do recommend you throw away such packaged foods before you start cleaning/treatment in order to ensure total elimination.
i saw one of those in the rice i bought but i threw out the rice now
So these are what I kill on grounded .. interesting
😂😂😂
Beware of buying dog food from people on the street or thru apps like offer up and such. I was out of 300 bucks because the dog food had weevils in 8 of the 10 bags I brought!!!! Of course I noticed AFTER getting the food home and yes I paid with cash app..... NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Istg every single day I atleast see one of these, and every single day it’s driving me more n more insane and I want to get rid of them but it’s hard, AND NOW UR TELLING ME THAT MY RICE GRAINS CAN BE LARVA INFESTED..??? 😭😭
They can be cooked along with food.they are edible
Ew
Yummy, we're eating weevils for dinner
sugar ants can easily go through those cereal containers so find something else air tight
Store these items in the freezer & you won't have these bugs.
takes too much space to store in the freezer but I do freeze them for 2 days before storing
In the deep freezer
Extra protein...
Well… I don’t think I’m going to eat any rice in a hurry…
I got Weevil on my hand right now
Edit: He died
i just put the rice infront of me and wait for some to come to the surface and destroy the eggs in rice
Guess im putting the rice i buy in the freezer before i cook
Me and my brother saw them and kept them in pets I feed them rice and there's more in he rice
I just crush-kill them. Kind of satisfying because they are hard and produce a crushing sound like a hard biscuit.
Yeah this is me right now with my weevil infested kitchen 😂
Let's write a blues song on Weevils 😂😂😂
thank you i literally hate them so much theyre everywhere :|
So you really can't get rid of a pest if it's actually in the grain itself. They only appear if the conditions are right.
Freeze the bag of rice, chemical free
Are those poisons harmful to humans in any way?
No. Just wash them off.before you cook
Once he said the mom lay her eggs in the rice then close up the hole she made I was like yea I'll just throw it all away cause ewwww
No. Chemical. Pesticides. Please.
I washed my 3 cups of rice 8 times. I may have perfectly cleared the weevils, but the stench after I cooked it is unbearable, had to throw the goodies away.........🥲
I need bleach and holy water for my eys i got disguist by weevils
Cooking your rice will kills these bugs plus extra protein lol
I just found weevils in my rice, so i had to throw all the rice out and buy better, more expensive right. This showed me to never buy cheap or free rice ever agin
To be fair, the weevils don't mind whether the rice is cheap or expensive. lol
These pests had cost me a lot
Put dry goods in freezer
Oh my! And I just wash the rice off and eat it regardless
You can just use cockroach baits they work great
I just threw away a bunch of food bags with these bugs, and found one which was empty but UNOPENED, it smelled like a cadaver. I'n so disgusted by these vermins.

My mum keeps the rice in the sun
Does this help?
The quality of rice will be gone if it contact with sunlight...
They look like tiny Hercules beetles
I eat rice weevil
Rise, We Evil!
😂😂😂😂
...NOT easy steps.
I found these in my noodles...fok.
Dream Weevil....
