    That there Eye-talian shoot'n iron looks like the bee's knees, Mr. Tools! They sure made a slick looking rifle, didn't they!? I like that short bolt throw. I also like that long rifle length barrel, to get all the giddy-up out of the supersonic loads and at the same time, they gave you a threaded barrel for suppressed use with the subsonic stuff. That's purdy smart thinking, if you ask me. Most threaded barrels that I see are real shorties, and that's handy for suppressed use, but just KILLS the velocity on a round that's not a barn-burner to begin with in the 350 Legend. That 24" tube will surely help get the max "umph" out of your new toy! Keep 'em comin' Mr. Tools!

    • @ToolsandTargets
      @ToolsandTargets  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you sir. I know what you mean about most threaded barrels being short. I definitely like that this one is a long boy.👍

      I can't believe I waited as long as I did to pick up something chambered in it. Very easy to find the ammo and relatively cheap compared to most other rifle rounds.

    That looks like a great shooter. I went with the Savage Axis. At the time it was really the only gun I could find in .350 Legend, but I already had a Axis in .22-250 and liked it. It’s a great round and I dropped a deer at 150 yds with it this year. Thankfully I really stocked up on ammo for it because they’ve almost doubled in price since I got the gun.

    A shaky table will sure wreak havoc on your shootin' accuracy !! I have seen some cool ones made out of large cable spools that look sweet and solid for sure! Maybe if you get you a good level pad there you can tighten up all the bolts in it and wont be bad, cool lookin little table though! I see 350 Legend in Wally World alll the time but never see a rifle for it lol! Nice lookin rifle/scope set up bet you get her fine tuned and be shooting in the same hole at 100 yards I have no doubt! Worked on my range today got it looking like a golf green haha! Nice review! Franchi claim 1 MOA accuracy. Your test is close enough to that to support their claim. Looks like a great deer rifle for States like Indiana requiring straight walled cartridges, but which restrict cartridge length for hunting public land. Mind you, even 2 MOA accuracy would be easily good enough to shoot White tailed deer out to the max effective range of the 350 legend. 2 MOA is a 4" group at 200 yards. Broadside white tailed deer vitals are about 9-10" across... Plus in Ohio (where I live), I've never had to shoot a deer further than 100 yards or so. Most shots are closer. I hunt with a Marlin 1895 SBL in 45-70 Govt (cerakoted sniper grey to hide the hideous stainless shine), or a .50 cal Pedersoli Rocky mountain Hawken patched round ball rifle in muzzle loader season. Both have proved deadly so, appealing as the 350 legend is, I'm not sure I have a reason to switch to it. I have also heard from a buddy at my gun club that 350 legend penetration through bone on a quartering deer is inadequate. Any thoughts on that?

  • @billdye3530

    Hope that harsh recoil didn't bother you? 😆 After the 45/70 recoil the 350 is magically. Nice combo especially with the Hawke scope. Did they not have one in pink Mossy Oak? Good shooting. The Lead Sled makes a difference in wobbling. 👍 👍

    Off subject completely, I’m considering the CMMG .22lr conversion kit w/ 3 25rd mags for one of my AR’s. Have you used one? It’s on sale at PSA for $169 and since the big ammo crisis a few years ago it’s been as much as $299 on some sites. I almost got it at $199 but didn’t, now I might go ahead and order the damn thing. Let me know if you have any knowledge that could be useful. Thanks buddy

      Tools will be hittin' up the solvent trap sites on facebook and gettin' locked in the pen before you know it! 🙃Seriously, you gotta wonder how many people buy those things and at the minimum, get put on a list. It's funny that the law will write you a ticket for having a car or bike that's not muffled but lock folks up who try to shoot without busting their eardrums when they forget their ear pro. They make crossbows that will shoot a country mile almost silently and accurately by total beginners, no regulations whatsoever, but put a can on a .45 and suddenly, you must be a trained assassin or something. Mind-blowing!... It's kinda cool that the same guy who invented the silencer also invented mufflers for automobiles!

      @@tommylitchfield3450 Tommy, LOL. At the end of the day, I buy these things cuz I believe in havin fun. I started shooting 2 liters and pumpkins in the desert and eventually got my carry permit and took this hobby serious. I'm actually Catholic so the last thing I wanna do is hurt someone. I'm also getting close to being a gun owner for almost 10 years now so I think most people will believe I think I have what it takes to be a responsible and danger free person. And yes I own some cans but I'm not using them to hurt anybody.

    The rifle itself seems like it’s capable of 3/4” groups at 100 yards all day. The practical accuracy you were getting from it was well below minute of deers vitals. I think it would do great for deer. You know 350 legend power wise kinda reminds me of Buffalo bore 357 magnum fired from a longer barreled lever action. Nice video

      A while back, I was looking at Buffalo Bore's website at some .357 rounds and was surprised at what they are getting out of their Heavy Loads for the .357 Mag. I just checked again, and their 170 gr .357 loads are leaving the muzzle of an 1894 Marlin carbine with an 18.5" barrel at 1860 fps. I then checked Hornady's site and their 350 Legend 170 Gr Interlock is going 2200 at the muzzle and 1843 at 100 yards out of a 20" barrel. That Buffalo Bore ammo is HOT!
