Yesterday I decided to start my business! This morning at 1:30 I watched my first video ever and that is yours!! I am so excited and will be learning more and more from you!! Thank you SO MUCH for doing what you are doing by helping everyone learn!! Your videos will definitely help me get through these difficult financial times. Thanks again!!! 😍
You are SO good! It’s a pleasure to watch just to see you create. Learning from you is the frosting on the cake. I’d rather be watching UA-cam. Thank you, Juna! ❤ Shirley
I was able to do 7 or 8 designs in about 30 minutes. I right clicked one of the parts I wanted to re-use and just pasted it into my next design. That sped things up. Still working on how to PNG the design. Thanks, man.
This was awesome Juna! I use Canva Pro daily but sometimes you don't know the power of the tools in your hand without a great teacher! Your knowledge of what elements are needed is so valuable for us non-designers. I combine with GIMP to execute steps like what you did at the end. I was thinking I couldn't do certain things but this really helped me to see how to achieve the full design. Thank you for phenomenal content! 💕💕💕 I'd rather be swimming. 🌊
Tip #1: If you're using the free version of Canva, instead of scrolling through all the results, you can filter your results to just show the free elements. On the right side of the search bar (where you typed in "vintage sunset") you'll see a sliders icon. Click on that and you can filter out all the "pro" elements. Tip #2: (9:05) When you changed the first tree from green to black, at the bottom of the colors/elements panel a little option popped up saying "change all" and showing a green square, an arrow, and a black square. If you click that, it will automatically change all the elements that are that green color to a black. That way, you don't have to go through and change each one manually.
Thanks for the tips... I believe the option to filter out Pro elements only works on the Pro account. I don't remember seeing it on my FREE version. I really love the change all feature. I need to try that.
@@DetourShirts Oh, man, what a bummer! It seems like it would be most helpful for people with free accounts. But I guess they want you to see what you're missing so you'll upgrade. 😂 I figured maybe you didn't filter because it was a newer feature that was added after the video was made, so was mostly leaving the comment for the benefit of viewers. I love your design, you make it look so easy. It always takes me forever to make designs. I need to keep watching your videos, maybe I will learn how to make great designs in a reasonable amount of time. 😅
This was actually really helpful. I've come accross a bumch of spammy videos talking about make thousands a day but nobody shows how effectively imo. Thank you
Thank you! Great video! May I ask,for the sunset you chose, you didn't have the option to change the colors. I thought that means it won't print well. Is that true? I sometimes find cool graphics but can't change the color and I thought I can't use those.
Thank you juna for this kind act I m watching your video and following you Ur this tutorial helps me alot.GOD bless you.i want some more videos like this on canva free from you coz I m beginner in this field.thanks again
Hi Juna, great video! I followed along and made my first shirt design. Maybe I’ll put it on a kdp notebook 🤣. I don’t ski so I had to pick another craft like knitting, since I’m old enough to be your Mom. The Canva pro version had a background remover feature in the image effects and then you can export it as a png with a transparency layer. I like your videos, keep up the great work!
@@DetourShirts oh I forgot to say that I checked the Trademark website for “I’d rather be…” and it’s listed with many variations, but the actual phrase isn’t a valid TM, it’s listed as being a “dead” claim. You were smart to mention that on your video because it’s smart to check phrases before we publish art or something else.
I just found your channel today and subscribed. I love your videos and laid back teaching style! I didn't know you could knock out the background in preview. Pretty cool! Looking forward to learning more about Canva and Affinity Designer.
@francise ermat, I'm trying to figure that out too. I've been searching online and can't find it so I'm not sure they have it yet. I guess I'll reach out and see what they say. If it's in Pro I'm missing out.
GIMP is free software I use. I donate but they don't require it. It's like a less expanded PhotoShop. You can select by color and remove it just as he did in the video. All the best! 😊
Hi Juna, tell me, is it possible to make a grunge effect over a design with Canva? Would be great if you could help me further. Your videos about Canva are great ;-)
Hello! Thanks for sharing! Is Canva also good for sublimation? Coz some says, if you design using Canva, it'll be pixelated when you use it in t-shirt, esp. for sublimation. Thank you for your response! 😍
I'm not 100% sure... I haven't bought any of my shirts myself... it looks fine online and I haven't seen returns with my Canva designs... but maybe this is a better question for my Facebook group or Kittl
Hey, I was able to get a transparent background for PC images by going to Lunapic, uploading my image, selecting Transparent Background, then selecting and clicking 'Apply' on each section. You can't do more than one section at a time, but no biggie. Thanks, again.

If you see just solid color boxes you can change it.....After clicking on any of those solid colored boxes the document colors pop up on the left panel..... the first square under Document Colors will be a square with a plus sign. Click on that and you will see a color picker with an eye dropper in the bottom right corner.
Greetings Juna, I want to ask if I make a design for a t-shirt, can I sell this one design on multiple platforms without having any issue? Or I have to create different designs for all the platforms? Thank You.
Great Video but once I try to save as a transparent png in Canva premium I see the three trees hanging out of the design as well as the rectangular box?
Yes... It doesn't work for that... It was made so that I could delete all the black... Canva doesn't have a good way to knock out the trees from the sunset .... sorry
Juno, I'm guessing that 5400 x 4500 size is for a rectangular logo that covers most of the front of the t-shirt. But what's the standard size if I want the logo to be primarily in the chest area? Thanks!

It may not be 300 dpi but it's good enough
Really appreciate this Juna, currently, I have Canva Pro 😀. Please make more videos like this...
Will do!
Hi can i used canva pro would there be a problem with copy rights thank you
Not if you combine designs, change colors and add text.... make it look different and you should be fine
Canva exports design files at 96PPI, is that good enough for print on demand tshirts if you export the file at the recommended pixel dimensions?
If you export it at the pixel dimensions needed you should be fine
Is there a standard size design for small, medium or large shirts?
For print on demand sites you don't have to worry about the size too much... If you create them at 4500x5400, when you upload the design just make sure it looks right.
I have the pro version of canva. I do not see the color picker where it is supposed to be. Any suggestions?😀
It's kind of hidden.... here is how you find it.....so when you click on a graphic you will see a color box or boxes in the top left corner of top white bar on Canva....some graphics you will be able to change the color and some you won't. ....If you see a box with multiple colors in it you can't change the colors.... If you see just solid color boxes you can change it.....After clicking on any of those solid colored boxes the document colors pop up on the left panel..... the first square under Document Colors will be a square with a plus sign. Click on that and you will see a color picker with an eye dropper in the bottom right corner.
