  • This is the same 560SEL we have worked on in the past, now with its new owner it looks (and sounds) very different!
Please note - you need a sound system / speakers with good bass response to get the proper experience. If you are listening on a device with tinny speakers, such as a phone or a laptop or even TV, this is not a true representation of the sound. Listen on quality headphones or a sound system with a subwoofer.

I have those rims on all my 3 x W126 cars and all came from buying in from Germany/Europe at opportunity some years ago.
Previous owner was running factory MB rims when i bought this car from him and then threw a ton of cash into it to get it to where it is today performing superbly on the road with its full hydro suspension front & rear (no coil springs)

I like the sound. It's more aggressive but it doesn't sound overly loud. What did you put on it? does it have the resonators still?

alexander70356 this guy had the largest collection of these wheels in the world. Was buying them all up over many years when ever he saw them, I beleive he has now sold off his last set.

I don't see this car much anymore. It is basically an updated version of what was used on the 450SEL 6.9. front, rear and main valves are the same units. it is enhanced with a control unit, gravity switch, electronic solenoid valve block, height adjusting rams on front and rear leveling valve linkages and an extra pressure line to activate soft / hard mode in the struts them selves.
at around 130km/h or faster the control unit will activate the height adjustment rams on the front and rear leveling valve linkages to lower the car via the solenoid valve block, from memory about 1 inch. The car automatically rises again once slowed down again.
When cornering hard the gravity switch will make the control unit activate the firming mode of the struts by way of the solenoid valve block and extra line to the struts.
There is also a manual control switch on the center console wood trim where the airconditioning controls are. As far as im aware there is no documentation on this system in English, only German as it was only ever used in europe. I have the factory manual but do not speak or read German but can understand it with my phone using google translate in camera mode.

Here is the link to describing the hydro system in this Euro spec 300hp 1989 W126 560SEL.

There only two of these examples these W126 SEL's that exist in Australia as they were both private imports and this up-spec W126 was never sold new here (only in Europe)

Where is that document originally from, that's the first time I've ever seen anything about it in English. Would be good to get the real thing in paper form.

No, because it was put together by hand by an Exhaust shop. Any good exhaust shop should be able to do this job.
