    For people dealing with this problem: I just did this exact swap and the new control board did not fix the problem. It ended up being a slightly frayed wire going into the control board from the front controls. Something to check if your washer is not spinning. This is an excellent explanation video.

    Excellent video, be sure to hold the motor when you tighten it and also make sure the belt is centered on the big wheel. I had to move mine forward

    I just removed the MCU.....took me approx. 16 mins.
    It was actually pretty easy.........thanks to your video.
    Tip: If there's a few days between removing old part and installing new part, I always re-install screws/bolts into their respective holes.

    fyi i did this on my older ge front loader from the front without moving motor. a little one hand tricky but it can be done...

      My error code is E57. Replacing the motor control board solved the problem.

      @@LarryHopper you can also test the motor windings with a multimeter. They should be about 6 ohms. It's a 3 phase motor.

      @@TheMorelli3, right you are. My motor passed that test. Replacing the controller fixed my machine.

      @@LarryHopper I mamged to fix my board I saw a blown out trace and soldered on a wire.
