I had my Mitsubishi dealer replace my sst Trans in my 09 Ralliart.....I am now wiser for having seen your video.
This is well beyond my mechanical abilities....to rebuild....all the nuts and bolts, elec connectors, Oil, air lines.
You have a lot of talent.

Get an Evo X they said, its a fun car they said.....Evo X SST gearbox has other plans for your fun. All that said, your vid does take the fear out of owning a SST Box in a Evo.

I watched this again, and I may have to do this in the future.
So far my SST is ok, it has been parked for over 8 years due to a burnt valve in cylinder 3 which I finally replaced. 👍

holy crap, It looks exactly like the car I got for cheap with a shift fork 2 code and a pressure control valve code. I will be doing the exact same thing, with the same looking car shortly I appreciate this video

@@j9drive369 just as a question do you think its possible to drop the transmission instead of pulling the whole engine? its currently on a car lift and I dont have an engine cherry picker like you
This is a great video. My understanding though is you can just remove the SST without having to remove the whole engine? If my SST ever needs to be rebuilt I hope I don't have to drop the whole engine 😱

Nice job bro! I left my car at a friend so he can take the trans off, then I will take it for a rebuild. Do I need anything to know regarding to it´s removal? I heard that it has to be removed with the selector in ¨D¨, and I saw that you fixed that big sprocket after on the engine. If there is anything else to be aware of, let me know pls!

Thanks for the videos, awesome job and very useful! I bought a project Ralliart Sportback with a non working SST and am getting ready to dig into it. Issues I'm having and codes I"m pulling so far point to the valvebody as being the culprit, so I'm going to start with a clean and rebuild of that along with changing out the oil/filters and see what happens.
I fully anticipate having to pull the transmission and do the whole thing now or at some point, however :)
Did you ever get the transmission back in and try it out yet?
I'm finishing of editing the next few evo videos. Yes it has been a while but there is more Evo videos coming in the next few days.
Wish the parts didn't cost so much. That's my only grief about the sst..

How jealous i am to you dear friend. You have a garage, a Lancer Evo and knowledge how to do take care of it.
I own a simple 1.6 liter 117 hp lancer X, and i dream one day i will make tuning of the engine, install a turbocharger and a 4 wheel drive extension to the drive train.
May be one day.
how long did it take you to get the transmission out? dang I didn't have half the tools you had to do my SST removal and install. I wish I got hold of more of your tools now.
It tuck me a day and a bit. I have lots more videos to upload. Just been very busy.
I thought I could have use a few more tools 😜
