I should have never sold my Porsche for this.
Yep a bunch of ours are making the noise. On top of that, there are several with excessive fuel in the oil. Check and smell your dipstick.
I haven't heard about the excessive fuel til now. Thanks for the tip!
@automotiveantics yep not many people check their oil. They just assume everything is fine.

Not on the forums folks. Apparently the car is outperforming ALL other flat plane crank engines if PROPER BREAK IN WAS DONE. You also would have immediately heard MASSIVE SCALE engine problems from test fleet reviewers IMMEDIATELY, and those cars were flogged silly. The engine is so good apparently that it picks up some nice Horsepower gains with some good amount of miles on them. These cars are hitting tracks worldwide, and so far rave reviews. There are always problems with a percentage of production cars.

10/24 production, 11/24 delivery here w/ 850 miles and a significant tick heard at idle. Sucks for a "hand built" engine w/ the assembler's name on it. Going in for a service look over

Arent, these engines tested before they are put in the car. I seen a video showing that they put them to the dyno test before installing. Is Zo6 engine the same as the others, are these engines a variable valve timing engine. If so we know them engines tick. And g.m. shouldn't be putting them into a vette . I'm wanting to order one so I'm trying to keep up with any information I can. Thanks for posting this.
Wow!!! GM continues to make great junk. Owners will not be happy when warranty is over and they have to pay huge repair bills. Way to go GM! I will never buy your products again. Plus the employees at the dealership are assholes.
This is s mechanical valve train, there will always be some noise and the noise will be different from one engine to another. If the tick stays the same and isn't getting worse o wouldn't worry about it. Mine has a light tick on the driver side, not concerned. I am a auto technician with 35 years experience and i might pull the valve cover myself because I'm curious about the cam bearing journal cap torque.
Yep mine is at the dealer right now for the ticking noise. Its been a week and nothing yet

I have 23 z06. that ticks when it’s cold start and then when it warms up the ticking goes away is that what you’re talking about? It’s got 200 miles on it sounds about like that.
That ticking in question is constant. So if at any point yours doesn't go away I would have it checked out
Funny thing is there’s a lot of responses on here. I’m sure by people that don’t own a z06. It’s a first year car on the engine so there’s bound to be problems gm will fix them. And the haters can keep driving their Toyota Corolla,

There is no such thing as a lifetime valvetrain.
True but we are talking about a valve train that's brand new or only a couple thousand miles on it
@@automotiveanticsstop spreading false news. This was very uncommon rare. To the point only bout 4 new off the line. Had any issues. Especially when you don't own one.
