As much as I love Tom, Matt was really just starting to hit his stride with blink. He is such an amazing songwriter and lyricist in his own right. It almost feels like Tom has to fill Matt's shoes now in a roundabout way.

Although I’m super stoked he’s back, there’s just something magical/haunting about Matt’s performance in this particular song, that even I think Tom wouldn’t be able to top. Now this here is blink-182 imo. This song is so damn good and it really shows how underutilized Matt has been at least to me in both NINE and California. It let Matt shine rather than sounding similar to mark with backup vocals and that "I'm gonna slip away" scream gave me chills. If the rest of the album had this strong feeling and let Matt do more Matt, I think NINE would've been up there with blink's best

Even though the darkside video was a cringe fest, back when they released the all the small things video coming off of dude ranch people were outraged “YoU wErE sUpPoSeD tO bE a PuNk BaNd?!” And now Enema is known as their best album. Besides they needed something to show they’re still “relevant” to anyone outside their fanbase. Though id say the videos will take a more serious direction now

I've been a fan of blink-182 since 2004, and I have to say I'm really happy with Tom's comeback, tour and new album. But this is one of the best songs I've heard since the self-titled, and at least I hope with this comeback is that they make a song like this, as the change is for the better and not worse.

I think it took two records for people to realize Matt Skiba is a fantastic songwriter in the pop-punk/emo/punk rock genre. Tom himself said that he loves Alkaline Trio and there is a video somewhere on UA-cam of Tom and Matt Wachter singing to Private Eye back around 2008 or something.

Exactly. You can finally hear and feel the raw punk vocal Skiba had since Alkaline Trio and it's prominent throughout the entire album with this song being a great example of it.
I've been telling people its basically a more aggressive Alkaline album. It's insane how much better this is than California. They realized Mark can't carry every song

hearing this song for the first time gave me the chills and tears actually filled my eyes. hearing skiba on that chorus kinda broke me, I felt every word that he sang. definitely one of the best blink songs from the skiba era and just all the eras/lineups in general combined. this album exceeded my expectations!

I'm a fan of both blink-182 and Alkaline trio, and man, this song is one of the best songs performed by Skiba, it makes me angry that the "true fans" of blink despised Skiba, he did an incredible job, and I hope he doesn't take long to release a new Alkaline trio album.

One of Skiba’s best songs and definitely one of his strongest vocal performances. It really showcases what a great singer and songwriter he really is. Odd move not to keep him on board even with Tom coming back. Oh well, he still kills it with Alkaline Trio.
Travis’s drum progression on this song is insane. His beats are so catchy. And Matt goes so hard in this song. You can hear his passion in the yells. It’s raw. And of course Mark sets the vibes with the bass. ❤️🦁🙏👍

This is a definitive evolution of their sound with skiba and not something that fans wish Tom was singing. This is it, this is the best blink record in years.
