@@ormanche it's just how McLaren name their cars. They have the standard supercar, then the long tail version within a generation. The 750s is an amalgamation of tech from both the 720s and 765lt (which is a far more limited run car). so nice to know the car testing was in Lisbon, Estoril Track. Where F1 used to have their races I believe early 90's. For some reason they no longer get the races done in that track anymore.
Until McLaren match Ferrari’s 7 yr free servicing and 5 yr warranty I’m not sure there are enough brave souls to be tempted. It will be an amazing car to drive and I’d love another McLaren but having had 5 already and lost enough money on them to buy a significant 5 bed detached house I won’t be going there again. The stories of five figure servicing costs and costly failures are legendary. Oh, and for reference my 675LT gearbox packed up at 800 miles, my 720s had engine/transmission failure on delivery and my 600LT had rust on the wheel arches after only 15 months! Come on McLaren, have the guts to back your product and at least match Ferrari’s aftersales support otherwise the residual values will remain shocking and all but the wealthiest owners will be ‘once bitten, twice shy’!
The convertable sounds SOO good i was never such a big fan of the mclaren sound in general but that one sounds really nice and sharp specially with the roof down also the 30hp is not really anything lol
On paper it’s not. But the difference between the 720S and 765LT is bigger than claimed in reality, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same between the 720S and 750S.
@@projectr2451 To be fair, the 765lt has more than 100hp over the 765 hp according to dyno results on top of shorter gears. Plus it would put Mclaren in a tight spot for the LT version of the 750s since they'd have to (even more) drastically underreport hp figures
@@riptiide9285 Everyone said that about the 765LT. That it would put the LT in a tight spot because of the Senna. And yet the 765LT still makes more power than the Senna and is still considerably quicker in a straight line. The 750S may not be as powerful as the 765LT, but I doubt the difference between the 720S and 750S is as small as McLaren suggest. That 750S is easily producing over 800hp, and I’d guess somewhere around the 845-850hp mark. And the LT model will most probably be called the 800LT and come with roughly the same power as the P1.
