I actually like how Christina is learning so much as you guys progress. Most of the comments and or suggestions I hear from her are very intuitive and accurate. Good show.
I just love tractors! Sometimes I get to borrow my neighbors tractor for a job around the house. He is a good neighbor and very kind! You have some cool vehicles coming up, can't wait to see them. Great job getting the tractor running, Richard, and Christina you sure know a lot about the mechanics of a car. Your a great helper for Richard! Many blessings to you both.
At least it's in the shade..lol.. We had a Ford tractor where i worked... I believe it was a 5000 series.. Do the maintenance and it will last a long time... Thx for bringing us along on another adventure... Take care my friend and God Bless...
53:33 Christina: ''Maybe the float'' Richard: *taps carb* Tractor starts! Now that's teamwork and shows Richard is a great teacher and Christina and equally good student. Awesome will it start guys looking forward to the upcoming ones especially that bus!
Well, win or no win, I enjoy what you do. As an old mechanic, I am still inspired , and yes it does take all the brain taxing efforts to get old engines to come alive again. I sometimes miss that rewarding feeling when all the effort pays off. I catch myself smiling when Richard makes it happen. More power to you and keep the ball rolling .
great work richard and christina that ole ford tractor sounds super good it may be old but its lasted alot longer than some of thee new nowa days keep up the great videos
enjoyed the video. it is a neat little ford tractor. m y grandfather used to own a tractor (think it was ford) built in the 1930's.he had it for 50 years before the block busted from a freeze in southern Oklahoma (believe it or not lol). tractor was eventually given to a friend of the family. who lived just up the road. I do not know what finally happened to it. my gransfather passed away in 1991. family friend passed away a few yearss ago. tractor is probably sitting in his pasture rotting away. :) we on disability, can't afford your shirts but maybe some day. we enjoy your videos. you have a beautiful property (smile).
my Dad used to like to buy and restore those older ford tractors, he really liked the 8and 9n but would work on the 3000's as well. good job getting it up and ready for work again.
Hi Richard +Christina I just watched the 66 Ford tractor video and loved it! I have loved all your videos I've watched and will continue watching. Thanks for the great videos Arne Nelson
That whistle is a good idea. I took off the valve cover to watch the valves because I didn't want to be 180 off. Still had issues because I thought the intake was the smallest one. Learned a lot, it's the kind of lessons you never forget.
Well it looks as though you got yourself a good tractor. With a lot of TLC and such it will make a nice addition. Wiring is going to need a complete working over and the little things that cause problems I am sure you will address. Looks as though it is going to take a quite a bit of work to straighten out and it appears that your front sheet metal is damaged. I'm sure you have seen in the comments that, that is a tire depth gauge you were holding at first.🥸👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for this awesome video guys! I was very suprised thay the oil pan didnt have any water in it. I love to watch your video's Richard & Christina, and would like to join the contest for those awesome T-shirzs!!! The only problem is that I am from the Netherlands 😅 PS. I'm looking forward for those new vids. See you there 😉
Good job Richard on getting the tractor going I think when you get it fixed the way you want it that it will make you a dandy one awesome video thanks Richard and Christina
What a fun you had with reviving your Ford tractor. I worked with one of these on a farm in Holland. Great to see it run and hear the engine again. Thanks a lot Richard and Christina❤❤❤
Grew up on a farm and always was around tractors. It was so fun to watch this one come to life. Keep up the good work. Love watching you too. Good job Kristina too.
Nice sounds! Grandad had 400 acres, and a Farm in Milton-Freewater, Oregon alot of land in the Walla-Walla Valley, which he bought during the Great Depression, he owned a ton of old cars and trucks, which my brothers and I learned how to fix, break and repair, one vehicle he drove, a 49 Ford tractor, So easy to work on and had a power-take off, with a hydraulic lift on the back. Well, one crop he sold for 20 years was Jubilee Sweet Corn, known for his hand-hewn corn crop, people would drive 200 miles to buy his corn, that delicious. During the summer, his Grandkids, (Me), would wake up at 3 am, and Grandma would make a big breakfast, 4am start picking corn, dressed heavy because the leaves could cut you and burn cause of the heat. Started at 7 on how to make change and the value of hard work.
That is so satisfying to get an engine running after all the work to get there! That tractor is a great find! I have an '85 Corvette I picked up and it has taken me 2 weeks to sort out all the issues that kept it from running. Someone had messed up every system. After all the fixes and cranking it finally started and now will start each and every time when cranked.
One of the best videos ever, pretty extensive repairs which Christina nailed that someone most likely fiddled with it and gave up because of all the issues. Great patience Richard in finding everything, and I totally agree about the CHEAP solenoids these days on old Fords. I keep old originals around whenever I can find them. If I get chosen, keep the whistler for someone else, I already bought one because of you guys, but love your tee shirts. If I don't win, I'll end up buying the new ones anyway. Keep up the great work, so happy for you two!
The TDC whistle is super handy! I have always used a long rubber hose connected to my compression hose adapter and I put the hose by my face to feel the wind as the compression starts to happen. What The Rust cheers!
Love your channel, and your knowledge Richard. I'm just an old country boy, and I've done a lot of "bailin' wire n' bubblegum " repairs in my younger days. You do things right, and I learn something with every video. Thanks again!😅
Boy that puppy purrs! I've got a 68 2000 with the same issues. It's been gifted down to me from my wife's late father. It always gave him heck. I look forward to making it right again. Great content!!
That TDC whistle is cool. I just checked Amazon in Canada and it is $63 and $28 in the USA. Great revival of the tractor and I think Christine will have a great time painting it up.
The first tractor I ever drove was a 1963 4000 Ford, I was 12 and it was my uncles and he put a disc behind it and turned me loose in a 200 acre dryland field. I had a blast and didn't want to quit for the day.
This one was a real treat to watch. But finding TDC in the beginning was taught to me in mech trade school 60 years ago. Always the basic first. Now that I bought up trade school, I still have my Snap on ignition tool set. All rolled up in it little red pouch with the very small wrenches, the spring loaded screw starter, (never want the condenser screw to fall into a distributor) plus my point file. Then you found the vented gas cap. Reminds me that an instructor told us a mean trick with that. Plug the vent on someone's car. He'll think he out of gas and open the cap. Vacuum is now gone, drives a few miles and then it happens again. Kind of a dirty trick back in the day. Have fun with the tractor.
What a great video! I really appreciate your explanation of the problems you encounter, and the solutions. It becomes a real tutorial to those of us who don't have your expertise. Added bonus was watching all the fun you were having running around your property! Love all of your content and look forward to each new posting! Thanks to you and Christina for all of your hard work!
After hitting that starter with the cables and it cranked over like that, you definitely will get that Thang running. Awesome. Once again, another great video .
I love both of your channels, especially the Lula videos. I have a 1980 El Camino and I had to get it running, so I asked myself, "What would Richard do? " I got it running, but it gave an Idea for a shirt you could make! WWRD.... You know, "What Would Richard Do....
Carbs are known to have float that fills with fuel and sinks in bowl, carb fills and drains into engine bores. Since tank is above carb and air intake. It all fills into manifold until fluid level equals
Richard, I was born in 1966, when that tractor was made. You don't know how long it's been sitting? I can relate--I have days I don't know how long I'VE been sitting! Never wrenched on Ford 2k's or 3k"s. My share of 2, 8, and 9 N's, yes. Have always worked on my share of revivals, classics, and hot rods. But love tractors, that old-school stuff. Fords, Deeres, McCormick Farmalls, Allis-Chalmers, IH, Olivers, etc.. Anytime I used a TDC whistle, my dog went nuts .
@@christinarust6957 Sorry, that was meant to convey how much I love Ford (Which is a lot). Richard looked like he had a blast getting that old tractor goin, I love when he gets excited! It's infectious. :D
Another awesome video from both of you. I enjoy watching what you do with vehicles that others would consider a lost cause. You prove over and over again that all the old vehicles you get running again still have life left to them. Looking forward to the next video. I want to see the V8 4 speed Maverick come back to life. I love those cars. Be well.
Hi Christina and Richard ! The Ford tractor was a cool project for this episode ! I'm currently working on a 1926 model T Ford. The similarities in that old T and a tractor are pretty evident. I always kinda wondered if that was all coincidence , or maybe by design , given how much of the United States was rural community back then. If you could drive a T you could drive a tractor and vice versa. Christina you mentioned painting , if it were me , I'd pressure wash her good , maybe a little wire brush action and go with a good brush and a quality machine paint. That might make a Good video on its own ! Enjoyed ,Enjoyed ! Bless ya !
Thanks! You two are awesome. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you! We appreciate your support 🙏
As a disabled old gearhead unable to play with classic American iron as much as I like, I look forward to your videos. Keep them coming!
Glad you liked it. More on the way.

Good job. I learned to drive on a tractor, a bit older than that one but a tractor none the less. 😊
Nice work. The words that stay in my mind is that she was looking for something big to move around.
