"Literally it plays" ... France (or even Scotland or Ireland). 😂 The clue is in the title.. "Je suis malade" (French, not Italian). 😉 My favourite Forestella performance. For me, Bae Doo-Hoon's emotional acting takes this song to the edge. (And I'm a Ko WooRim fan, and they ALL pushed the emotion buttons).

Among Forestella's covers, this is my favorite mournful song. Bae Doo-hoon's vocal tone shines in this song. I recommend another cover song by Forestella, 'If I Leave'. This song was written as an OST for a Korean historical drama.

Forrestella covers many genres of songs. Scarborough Fair, Ed Sheeran's shape of you. I like Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, Heal the world.

Until just before the beginning of this competition episode, due to the accumulated fatigue (among the members, he had to do long journey taking 6 hrs one time to prepare for it cuz he had his own job at that time), Kang (countertenor) 's condition was so bad and almost lose his voice. But the other members tried to encourage, and hugged and made him fell comfortable at the backstage and on the stage. And they WON this stage. If you know the story, you will have tears everytime you watch this oerformance.

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version.
She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone.
Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on.

is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance this 2003 version is even more dramatic

The guy very right side name is Bae Doo-hoon and he has been a musical actor.
His emotional expression is the best in the group I think. He almost cried in " Maldita sea mi suerte" fan cam video.

I both hate and love reactions to this. Love because I like seeing people hear it for the first time, but also hate, because the pausing kills the mood completely . Also korean audiences often cry at songs. Try watching Kim Jinho sing 'Family Portrait' on Immortal Songs and you won't see a dry eye in the house!

I love all crossover groups and especially Forestella is one of favorites! They have amazing voices and harmonies!
I’d like to recommend you a new crossover group from South Korea I discovered recently. It’s called “Forténa” with combination of four tenors(I’ve heard it’s the first crossover group with four tenors).
One of the members is a very famous count tenor(His name is DQ Lee and played in lots of operas all over the world).
When I heard their very much first cover song “Neapolis” in a competition program, I had a goosebumps everywhere.
I’m sure you would like it and I’d love to hear your opinion about their singing.

Forestella ha..very very amazing group.
I have watched many male groups, but I have never seen a male group with as much harmony and teamwork as Forestella.
I know that they don't drink and smoke and take care of their throat very diligently.
I think it can bring them together..

Small correction;
They don't smoke but do drink sometimes.. Usually, they take care of their condition for singing. But to refresh themselves, they have party time with beer or soju.(You can see them drinking in their Forrecipe in the forest.)
It's true they are very deligent perfectionists like getting practice together 330/365 days in their first year. They still practice together more than 300/365 days as far they said.
That made sense to me why they got improved every time I saw them following their concert tour, even though they were perfect from the beginning of the tour.

The song I am sick is inspired by a real heartbreak by Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship.
In 1969, the singer met, in Chamonix, Michèle Potier. Love imposes itself as a certainty, but neither of them is free: he married Daisy Brun in 1968, his press officer, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to recover their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and finally flees him and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words to his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides in his friend Alice Dona: “this story hurts me, it makes me sick”. Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes a melody in a few hours [...], which she quickly makes the singer listen to. It's a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost all of the text in one go. He would later say, "I wrote 80% of the song in 20 minutes, it's almost a shame.[...] it took my heart so much that I [..] right away felt that this song had something the others didn't. ".
