THIS is the Reaction I've been waiting for. I'm a fan of Ko WooRim's bass, but for me, Bae Doo-Hoon absolutely broke me with HIS emotion. This is the greatest vocal arrangement I have EVER heard. I grew up in a house, surrounded by Opera. And in my nearly 70 years, I've never heard anything as PERFECT as this.

They can’t SPEAK in french, this performance was completed through just a lot of practice... In the process, they translated the lyrics themselves. Not word-for-word translation, just to deliver their feelings from the original song. What an amazing group...😭😭❤️

When I first heard this song, I felt the same way as you. I was moved by the talented voice and expression of the each singer.A horrifying whirlwind of emotion...
But I couldn't stop listening to the song.
I was fortunate enough to see them in person on their North American tour in Atlanta, Ga. this year. They are incredible singers and performers.
Oh the reaction I have been waiting for... will come back after I finish the video... Edit: yup this is my reaction every single time I hear this song.. actually the writer and original singer of this piece is Serge Lama, -who at that time was married and he met the love of his life who was married as well, they had an affair, but did not continue (if I am not mistaken), so, he wrote this song... Serge lama heard this version and he tweeted about it and thanked Forestella for their cover.

As for Je Suis Malade, I need to tell you as a native french speaker that their pronunciation is so perfect I was shocked the first time I listened to this. I am used to korean as well so I know which sounds and parts of french are generally difficult for them to pronounce so I was even more amazed by forestella. They even got the liaisons (how sometimes the last letter of a word is pronounced along with the first of the next word) correct! Amazing, really. They must have studied a lot.
Je Suis Malade is a classic of french music, we all know this song. So it can be even more challenging to cover; yet while listening to this I didn't once think of the je suis malade that I was used to. This is an incredible talent. They got the emotions so perfectly that I was immersed in their performance.

Lara Fabian hace una versión bellísima también pero, honestamente, me quedo con la de estos increíbles artistas.
Hace unos días vi una reacción de una youtuber francesa y quedó sobrecogida por su interpretación e impresionada por su excelente francés.
De hecho el compositor de la canción, Serge Lama, los felicitó por su interpretación y la reacción del público francés fue muy entusiasta.
Al parecer Serge Lama pidió la colaboración de una amiga para que pusiera letra a su historia, él compuso la música.
La canción cuenta una experiencia personal. Según escuché Serge Lama conoció al amor de su vida cuando apenas llevaba casado un año. Ella también era casada pero eso no los frenó para vivir su amor en la clandestinidad. Pasado un tiempo ella se distanció de él y se marchó a otro país y la canción cuenta cómo vivió aquella separación.
El resultado es de una belleza que abruma, e interpretada por Forestella adquiere una dimensión estratosférica. Es de no creer.

“Je suis Malade” was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends.
Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations.
This 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
