All of the 4 individually entered the contest "phantom singers 2" and became at the end of the competition a quartet. This was the hole set-up of the competition. Greating a quartet cross-over group. They became the winner of that season.
일디보와 같은 4중창을 만드는게 목표인 오디션 프로그램 '팬텀싱어2'를 통해 결성되었다. 맨처음 레째로테너 '조민규'가 같은 학교 후배인 베이스 '고우림'과 팀을 결성해서 듀엣 경연에서 상대팀( 뮤지컬배우'배두훈'과 유명한 오페라 바리톤가수 'Julien Kim')을 이겼다. 그 다음단계인 트리오 경연에서 상대팀이었던 '배두훈'을 영입해서 팀을 만들었다. 그리고 경연에서 좋은 성적을 거두었다. 한편 당시 롯데캐미칼 기업의 화학연구원을 하던 '강형호'는 음악을 전공하지 않았음에도 불구하고 그의 순수한 노래실력으로 독주,듀엣,트리오 경연에서 살아 남았지만 같이 했던 팀원들은 다 탈락하여 혼자 결승까지 갔다. 마지막 콰르텟을 결성 할 때 심사위원들이 강형호를 포레스트팀(배두훈,조민규,고우림)에 합류시켰다. 이때 강형호는 오페라의유령의 남여파트 모두를 완벽하게 불러서 사람들을 놀라게하고 무척 유명해져서 별명이 'star'였다. Forest + Stella = forestella 이렇게 포레스텔라가 결성 되었다. 그리고 이 팀이 우승팀이 되었다.

They were the winner of Phamtom Singer 2. They started as an individual and ended up as a quartet. You will find the amazing journey of Forestella at the show. In my personal opinion, they are the best cross-over group across all the seasons of the Phamtom Singer since none of the other quaterts has such different voice colors in a group. BTW, the name of Forestella came from the combination of Forest and Stella.
Thank you for watching Forestella's 'White Night'! To their surprise, they didn't know each other at all. Forestella was formed in an audition program called 'Phantom Singer 2'. Except for Go Woo-rim and Jo Min-kyu, who both graduated from the same university, the other two have no contact at all. The m/v of this song is an edited video from their last concert. The white costume in the front part is from June 18th, and the black costume in the back part is from June 17th. I saw their white costumes. Everyone present was deeply moved by the new unreleased song.
These four graduates from the best universities in Korea, each with a different major, are a group that was intertwined and intertwined in the Phantom Singer 2 contest. I don't have a favorite as each singer is superb in their own right but as a group they leave me speechless. I will say one of my favorite parts in this song is at 1:14 ( the original video) where Pitta fidgets with his ear piece, starts with this rocker sound and then heads off to sing the rest of the song in the stratosphere. So effortless. Please react to them singing Champions at the Seoul fest. It is such an inspiring song.

Hola! Ellos se conocieron participando en el programa Phantom Singer 2, que buscaba cantantes profesionales para formar grupos masculinos crossover. Los participantes pasaron por un casting y luego iban avanzando por distintas etapas de la competencia, compitiendo cantando de a uno o en duos, trios o cuartetos, y eran calificados por un jurado de expertos y tambien por el público. Entre los que iban perdiendo, el jurado eliminaba algún participante y los que ganaban tenian la ventaja de escoger al proximo compañero con el que formar un duo o trio, etc. Cho Mingyu (tenor ligero, con formacion lirica) tenia una idea clara de qué tipo de sonido queria lograr, y fue el artífice de la mezcla maravillosa de talentos que resultó en Forestella. Él ya ubicaba desde la universidad a Ko Woorim (bajo, con formación lírica) y en el programa se fijó en Be Dohoon (barítono, actor musical) y en Kang Hyongho (contratenor, ingeniero químico sin formación formal musical, que trabajaba como cientifico, pero que cantaba en una banda de rock desde sus años de universidad). Casi al fina del programal, entrevistaron a todos los participantes que permanecian en competencia y en base a eso, el jurado seleccionó a los integrantes de cada grupo, siendo una sorpresa para cada uno de ellos con quien quedaron finalmente. Ahí se formó Forestella que siguió participando ya como cuarteto, ganando esa temporada del programa. they met on a contest show in 2017 called phantom singer. they were the second season winners! it was a show to find a new classical crossover group. they were elimination rounds as soloists, then went to duets, to trios and finally quartets. the top 3 quartets competed in the final round. the harry potter of the group is mingyu, their leader, and he pretty much single-handedly formed the group, taking charge of who they picked to join the group in each round as well as their song choices. his choices were inspired and he surprised the judges a couple of times. woorim (clark kent) and mingyu were the first two to pair up in the duet round, then doohoon, the baritenor. the freaky countertenor, hyungho, was the last to join the group. a couple of fun facts...woorim, the bass, was the youngest contestant of the season. hyungho was the only contestant who had no prior musical training. he was a chemical engineer!

Hi~ Thank you for your reaction to FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!! When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. 팬텀싱어라는 일종의 경연애서 민규님의 전략으로 만나게된 팀입니다~ 포레스텔라 팬텀싱어 검색하시면 나올겁니다~ 우림,리더인 민규님은 한국최고대학 성악과 선후배고 두훈님은 무지컬배우 형호님은 그냥 괴물입니다! 취미로 회사등에서 락공연을 하던 일반 화학전공자로 화학 회사에 근무했던 일반인… 민규님의전략으로 꾸려진 팀이 결국은 우승.올스타에서도 우승하게된 팀이랍니다~

To their surprise, they didn't know each other at all. Forestella was formed in an audition program called 'Phantom Singer 2'. Except for Go Woo-rim and Jo Min-kyu, who both graduated from the same university, the other two have no contact at all.
The m/v of this song is an edited video from their last concert. The white costume in the front part is from June 18th, and the black costume in the back part is from June 17th. I saw their white costumes. Everyone present was deeply moved by the new unreleased song.
These four graduates from the best universities in Korea, each with a different major, are a group that was intertwined and intertwined in the Phantom Singer 2 contest. Hola! Ellos se conocieron participando en el programa Phantom Singer 2, que buscaba cantantes profesionales para formar grupos masculinos crossover. Los participantes pasaron por un casting y luego iban avanzando por distintas etapas de la competencia, compitiendo cantando de a uno o en duos, trios o cuartetos, y eran calificados por un jurado de expertos y tambien por el público. Entre los que iban perdiendo, el jurado eliminaba algún participante y los que ganaban tenian la ventaja de escoger al proximo compañero con el que formar un duo o trio, etc. Cho Mingyu (tenor ligero, con formacion lirica) tenia una idea clara de qué tipo de sonido queria lograr, y fue el artífice de la mezcla maravillosa de talentos que resultó en Forestella. Él ya ubicaba desde la universidad a Ko Woorim (bajo, con formación lírica) y en el programa se fijó en Be Dohoon (barítono, actor musical) y en Kang Hyongho (contratenor, ingeniero químico sin formación formal musical, que trabajaba como cientifico, pero que cantaba en una banda de rock desde sus años de universidad). Casi al fina del programal, entrevistaron a todos los participantes que permanecian en competencia y en base a eso, el jurado seleccionó a los integrantes de cada grupo, siendo una sorpresa para cada uno de ellos con quien quedaron finalmente. Ahí se formó Forestella que siguió participando ya como cuarteto, ganando esa temporada del programa.

they met on a contest show in 2017 called phantom singer. they were the second season winners! it was a show to find a new classical crossover group. they were elimination rounds as soloists, then went to duets, to trios and finally quartets. the top 3 quartets competed in the final round.
the harry potter of the group is mingyu, their leader, and he pretty much single-handedly formed the group, taking charge of who they picked to join the group in each round as well as their song choices. his choices were inspired and he surprised the judges a couple of times. woorim (clark kent) and mingyu were the first two to pair up in the duet round, then doohoon, the baritenor. the freaky countertenor, hyungho, was the last to join the group. a couple of fun facts...woorim, the bass, was the youngest contestant of the season. hyungho was the only contestant who had no prior musical training. he was a chemical engineer!

Hi~ Thank you for your reaction to FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!!
When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. I wanna recommend "just a few" songs in the below. If you live in outside of S.Korea, some videos might not be seen. In that case, please google the song, then there might be several videos. South Korea's jTBC has aired the audition program up to 4 seasons so far.
They met each other in Season 2 and formed a team.
The process was broadcast over 12 episodes and is now available for a fee.
They completed the preliminaries, finals, and finals as a team.
They each challenged themselves to the audition, made a team with many people, and went all the way to the finals.
This program shows the process of each challenger finding someone who needs each other to create a 'male quartet'.

Soprano Kang Hyeong-ho wanted to major in music, but his family circumstances and his parents opposed him, so he left science college and joined Samsung.
And until he was 30 he worked as a chemical researcher and continued his rock band activities as an amateur. Taking this audition as his last chance, he won and gained many fans.
The way they get to know each other and become a team is an amazing story.
