    I don't know how true this is because I have not investigated myself however, in the book of Genesis chapter 1 when it talks about what we're supposed to eat, it says we are to eat things that produce seed. From what I understand mushrooms do not produce seed but spores. They are in a different category of plants. A friend of mine did a study and just like there are clean and unclean meats in the scriptures, he concluded that there are clean and unclean plants. He said that mushrooms fall under the unclean plant category and shouldn't be eaten. But like I said, I have not studied this out for myself. There is so much conflicting information. I mean the same people that say that pork is good for you say that mushrooms are good for you but I know pork is not. They say a little wine with your dinner is fine but scripture speaks against alcoholic beverages. With all the controversy out there I think we each have to make our own decision.

      The scriptures do talk about alcoholic beverages. I do not consume them myself.
      However, there is this verse about "a little wine":
      "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities."
      1 Timothy 5:23, KJV

    My understanding so far is this: we live to the Leviticus 11 diet and we understand that bottom feeders in the ocean we don’t eat and cleaners like pigs we don’t eat and mushrooms clean the forest etc so we don’t partake

      Plants don't clean the air. They produce oxygen. They breathe in carbon. Mushrooms don't clean the air. They live and thrive in dark moist places. I am still not sure. I wish my friend was still alive. I would ask him for his study. However, Jesus was extreme and as long as we trust Him, we will be on the right path. We will be considered extreme for following the Bible soon enough. 😂❤️

      I order from Amazon, the TEN mushroom organic/non-GMO. there’s quite a few of them. You can just look at the reviews of what other people say. Look at the ingredients and decide what you want. And if it says proprietary blend anywhere in the small print, make sure that blend is listed because that can mean that they put extra things in there that they don’t list, that may not be organic and non-GMO. I’ve tried a couple different brands. Make sure they’re organic and non-GMO, and you know what their proprietary blend is, or don’t buy that one. People like to sneak things in there! Sadly 🥹

    I know almost all of us are used to classifying mushroom under fungi because of the false education (in terms of origins) we've been subjected too.
    But we have to remember that to classify mushroom under fungi is an evolutionary mind.
    As far as God (or the Bible) is concerned, mushroom is grass or herb (choose whichever):
    “11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. ”{Genesis 1:11-13 KJV}
    And I believe God gave man natural instinct to determine herbs that can be eaten, rather than making a list (which is almost endless to the mind of man).
    If you believe God did not create mushroom, then you can think in those lines.

      From what i read on the internet at University of Buffalo, yeast is a fungus and it is also found on grape skins and on fruit that has fallen from trees.
      As a dietary safe guard I follow the Orthodox Union, which i believe God put in place, to determine what is biblically kosher and what is not.

    What to eat... what not to eat?! I wish we had access to mana, or whatever it is that Jesus fed the multitudes in the wilderness with? I would just eat that, in addition to every kind of fruit and vegetable available to me. But since mana isn't available, 50%(+) of my diet is the ridiculously expensive cape seed bread, or similar, you can get at Cobs bakery. They claim it is non gmo ancient grains and it's delicious. I had mushrooms today but mostly because i didn't want to hurt my mom's feelings. She's from Poland and mushroom picking and eating is a cultivated tradition.

    This is not completely correct! There are many medicinal mushrooms that have antifungal, antiinflammatory, and immuno-modulatory action. Such are cordyceps, turkey tail, shiitake, reishi, agaricus blazei murill. See Alves, M.J. Ferreira, I.C. etc (2013). A Review on Antifungal Activity of Mushroom Extracts and Isolated Compounds paper and many other papers.

      there are many fungi species. They are in the air and on your food. They are part of the necessary beneficial micro-flora that colonizes your gut. You don't want detrimental types to get the ascendancy in your system, so it is good to make sure you colonize with the beneficial ones. A couple of the best ways I know about to do that are to make kefir products and lacto-fermented onion and garlic. I don't use kombucha, but that would likely be another one.
