Agree, completely. It seems that all tickets for ticketed events are harder to get but rares impossible for normal, average, non big spenders. This is foolish. Normal players should be able to run them once a month, and spending players maybe twice a month, but at mo, normal players can't run them ever, and the big spenders can do them whenever they run. This isn't the way it should be.
It seems that the event stores have been a bit disappointing for the last few iterations due to either the contents of the store or lack of currency to spend.

Please keep pushing for more event store availability for otherwise inaccessible premium content. The best things about event stores to me are: 1) Agency - the player can feel good by having a choice in multiple good options and choosing what fits their gameplay style best 2)Access to items/content that has limited or no sourcing otherwise. Primes, forbidden tech, being able to target specific artifacts, etc. Event stores used to have this when I was a G3 player, there was lots of "good" options and the event stores were one of the most exciting things when they came around. At ops 55, event stores are dull and lifeless, there is no creativity and Scopely has clearly lost the plot of what makes an event store exciting. Having 1 single, temporary clear winner to spend on such as Chapel this month does not "feel good" because there players have no real agency in choosing her (point 1). Additionally, Chapel will get sourcing as a rare officer at some point, making getting her in this event store just a slight time saver, as opposed to getting access to something that is otherwise not accessible without spending (point 2). For the love of good game development and getting players to spend more on event store currency - offer more/better options that fit these two criteria. Get rid of garbage like the entire resource section, that has always been bait for fools to waste currency on and nothing more and make event stores exciting and fun again. Reward players who have spent literal years playing your game. Remember without the krill for the whales to feed on, there is no game Scopely. Toss them some freaking chum once in a while.
Genuinely curious, with the way Scopely have continued to devalue the event stores with this perpetual downwards trend in currency awarded, do you think if the event store did not already exist, that Scopely of 2024 would ever create it? Because I do not.
I unlock NX01 this Saturday. Some Evicirator bps would have been nice. Yes, I know, there's supposed to be a weekly event for F2P (any idea when this is happening?), but wouldn't hurt for some b4 it kicks in.
One thing I try to always keep an eye out for is cost for improvement. For example, Phlox may not be the best value per shard, but I only needed a few shards to unlock. So it was well worth the handful of currency.
@@Bacteria333 She is one of the best officers you can get at any level. Most bonuses to damage don't scale like you may think but Chapel's iso damage boosts is a real boost.
As i’m a 39 i no longer need the specialty ships i can acquire (since i got those all maxed for my level) and i’m excluded from all the new(er) ones (Monaveen, NX01, Eviscerator: NOPE) so my only viable option for this store is Christine Chapel. That narrowed it down 🤷♂️😂
We're not using the Gorn Eviscerator because the ship itself doesn't have enough warp range. Too few players have the docks to run a Disco and then the Eviscerator.
It has enough warp range to do what It needs to do for its loop and I have it and I get way more resourses to take to the refinery but you want Archer tucker and Phlox for it but don't Need them
So what they added the plasma for the new gorn ship. My server is still stuck at lvl 39 cap so none of us have had any interaction with the new content. So in essence the new content doesn't mean anything to us

Hi Rev. I love these what to get videos. I used to buy during the event, but now follow your lead and wait to the end. Just met all your criteria for 40 upgrade.
From event store this go around, I finished the last 60 shards for my Feesha, got about 10 shards towards t2 Chapel and everything else is going towards trying to unlock Carol Freeman. As a new player the only Below Decks officer I have are Alonzo and Tendi whom I got through Transporters. Have had no luck with the Cerritos refinery or the recent addition to the ultra packs for them. Would say I would love to see Tal in event store or some kind of sourcing, I see him mentioned all the time but have yet to ever see him available.
So far I finished my Defiant, meridian and with a davor scraping 10 blueprints from Faisha. I just upgraded to level 39 and have skipped a lot of ships to make it here in 11 months from start of game play.
I spent a little event store currency to get the handful of shards I needed to finally unlock Hoshi and T'ana. One thing not mentioned is the Assimilated Amalgam skin. I actively participate in incursions, so that skin would give me more bang for every minute I spend raiding. That is a tempting option for me.

I’m spending on nurse chapel but I do think syndicate is worth going for. I could do with some of the other officers but they seem to be all epic and 60k per 10 shards is expensive considering every month I don’t do well in the leaderboards
I need 5 Dr T’ana shards to unlock which I’m drawn to, but it will cost me 15 Nurse Chapel shards so I’m somewhat torn there. Everything else it’s Chapel all the way, I will add personally as a tribune owner I would have loved to see Neelix in the store but oh well maybe next time.
I always hate that Scopely puts a cap on how many of anything you can cash in on the event store. If I’m putting in the effort and doing the work, why does Scopely care if i want to dump all my currency on one item.

I can't decide between Trait XP and Nurse Chapel. I've already unlocked her, but I don't think that extra 5% iso dmg on tier 2 would worth that much than 50k trait xp 🤔
Why is every Below Deck officer available in these stores..EXCEPT for Ransom. He is the only one i dont have unlocked, and his shards are very few, and very far, between.
Ransom is on the Explorer Strike Team, Like Shax is on the Battleship Strike Team and Billups is on the Interceptor Strike Team. The only Below Decks that isn't, is Badgey. Even though, it would have been nice to have Ransom, Billups and Shax there too.

Maybe because I just jumped from 39 to 40 but May 2024 has been the single worst event in years, in terms of chances to to earn event store currency. Unless you coughed up to get the Gorn ship or had a maxed Epic ship, you were completely stuffed. Maybe we got spoilt with the Christmas one. I unlocked all the new officers and two ships back then. My level 19 FTP account has three times the currency that my level 40 has earned so far.
Was super bummed when I found out carol freeman was in a different tab. I spent everything on getting nurse chapel unlocked and leveled up. Then I found a separate crew tab with freeman in it past even the apex tab. Why scopely! Why make a separate tab for this?!?! Not that Chapel is horrible, but not having freeman is way more frustrating than ever missing out on chapel. I guess I should check past the apex tab next time for more event tabs. I should have known better when it comes to scopely.
Good practice is to wait until near the end of event store to spend any currency. They also didn't announce where the below deck folk would be found, so that's on Scopely.
There's no alternative events for the Gorn SLB and ALBs that 40+ have so, this event store is a wash for sub 40s. I think them having a "proper" event store with less currency instead of a dabo table, is just a way to ensure that F2P don't get chapel maxed out. There's no chance in Hell F2P are maxing out Chapel (specially sub 40).
I pulled some Spore parts just because they are so slow to obtain and I was close to the next tier. I'm still far from maxing Discovery even on a one-year-old server.
unlocked chapel, not that interested in t'ana (though glad she's in there). need protomatter to get assessment emblems to upgrade court of q to 25, currently 22. the daily grind for those emblems is a stupidly slow one by the 20's. I'd rather buy those emblems than the protomatter, but that's what we have.

i hate when we get stuff added to an event store to late like lower deck officers i got centi bps and unlocked nurse chapel and want to get her to t2 but there is a sato that is tempting not a bad option for cargo cap and gas mining then they add lower deck bit late in tendi and sam are good options i think but now i have to think what to get MR T in lower decks has a great ability for faction rep
Is shopping this stuff really worth omitting rss & mats from events payouts, thus essentially stopping most all growth activities in the game? Why not simply add the event store loot to rss & mats payouts and make the event store something special instead of a gaming compromise that feels like teh big sukc that stalls the game every 2-3 months?

I have not actively participated in an even store month in years now. For the most part it's the same shit, just a different pile. The only thing of value is the officers, and some times they are not worth it. We would be better off having the events pay out resources. Event Store months is only meant slow players from advancing so that they feel the need to go and buy the resources. Rev, you have been playing the game long enough to know the event store months are a waist and should stop promoting them.

People NEED Voyager. It's warp range is game changing.

Billups is often a reward in events, or available in arc stores, plus Shax and Billups have been randomly in the BP more often than Ransom.
Over half way through the event and now they put more borg cube bps in the store. Thanks for that Scopely

what i hate is amalgam is limited to 50bp per event store why not allow players to get one full unlock increase it to 100bps

Payouts been pretty bad, I've not been able to kill many Gorns on account of not having all the ships and buffs to take them down. I took Chapel.

I would add that Phlox is very important. It can neutralise some PvP crews very effectively.

You can trade protomatter for emblem of assesment in FT refinery. The conversion is not really good, but it can unlock your situation.

The only thing of value is the officers, and some times they are not worth it. We would be better off having the events pay out resources. Event Store months is only meant slow players from advancing so that they feel the need to go and buy the resources. Rev, you have been playing the game long enough to know the event store months are a waist and should stop promoting them.
