Sometimes the music (the rhythm) knocks like a dance master with his stick, which is the device of the impact for the audience. The music would force you to dance but you have to seat. These parts are interrupted by the recitatives and terces (with usual closing motives). Slower and quicker parts are changing time by time. The slower parts usually have a feminine feeling (they teach us), as the ladies show themselves to the audience like in ballroom, and the deeper voices show the masculine strongness (the order us). I think, the quickest part, arias cannot be interpreted by dance (ca. from 20'). One of the most interesting element when minuete form is mixed with the fugue, which - I think - comes from Bach, at Handel the whole thing is more dynamic. It seems to me that the "Halleluja" is the summarization of the whole piece (I wonder why this was not placed to the end of the oratorio, of course, I know, the whole oratorio is a mass so it must be finished by an "Amen".) It is not usual, but I would like to praise the drummer also, he was great. The camera work and editing are very intelligent and help us understand the structure of the music. The cutting is absolute professional, it is clear that the director of photography understood the music and he did not improvise. By the way, the artists were beautifully filmed, clean eyes, smiles, concentration, nice people altogether, they lived their part. And how can I praise Mr Haselböck? No words. This concert is unforgettable. Thank you again.
Flawless faithful performance which must be referenced in the future as one of the greatest performances of Handel masterpiece.
How wonderful to see many of the Warsaw audience stand for the Hallelujah chorus. That the awe and majesty of this great sound and the genius of Handel is recognised and observed outside of Britain and Ireland is wonderful. What a great performance this is. Congratulations ❤
Many years ago some friends and I attended a "Messiah" performance in Mannheim. We stood for the Hallelujah chorus... we were the only ones standing. The Germans seemed quite confused by our standing. It's probably different these days.
A truly extraordinary performance, which clearly confirms that the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir are Europe’s finest. None better.
Bravo to the audience for following the tradition of standing for the "Hallelujah" chorus. That was lovely to see :) And what a wonderful performance of Messiah this is, too.
The work of the conductor is impeccable.
Je viens de regarder les part1 et 2 en une seule lecture, je suis sans voix! C'était MAGNIFIQUE! BRAVISSIMO!
A superb and uplifting rendition. Thanks
What a work! What wonderful words ..what a wonderful Savior!
Astoundingly beautiful!! I,'ve sung the Messiah 11 seasons
With the Calvin Oratorio Society in Grand Rapids Michigan
USA. The Counter Tenor especially stood out, my first time
hearing a Counter Tenor. Thank all of you !! Gary Van Ingen
this was just very famous young Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orlinski
Thank you for publishing this performance!
The Lord of hosts is the King of glory! All praise the name of the Redeemer, Jesus of Nazareth!
Beautiful version on modern instruments (but then the presence of the countertenor J.J. Orlinski is difficult to explain, except that he is Polish), with a superb choir. The final "Amen" (which I almost prefer to the "Hallelujah", because more religious, less triumphant) was soothing and grandiose at the same time, which it must be.
But the whole is literally illuminated by the incomparable timbre of Sunhae Im, beautiful, supple, stable, so simple and radiant: his "I know my redeemer liveth" is to be listened on our knees.
I really liked that the public rose for the "Hallelujah", as in England. Respect is always beautiful.
Thank you very much to the Warsaw Philharmonic and Choir.
Long live Poland!
Roger Maes (I am Belgian)
Roger Maes all the best for you!❤From Poland
It is easy to explain the presence of Mr Orlinski here. He is a young, amazing countertenor who added a lot to the greatness of this performance. A unique voice colour, unique cooperation with the orchestra, excellent stage presence and lots of charisma. He did a great job here. On top of that, he is also a great human being with a fantastic, friendly personality who knows how to communicate with the audience.
OMG! Hallelujah is the cosmos!!!
Stunning !
Handel is a comp0ser who could certainly write a tune. This performance is outstanding. The audio is recorded with such accuracy in reprodution. The direction is given to produce such phrasing that I wonder if Handel could have elicited any more from these performers. The pipe organ is very well played and does not override the strings.
The best.

What is Christmas without a performance of Messiah? If I cannot attend a live one, this performance will be my go-to for all my Christmases to come. Utterly magnificent!
Great, great, 100 times great!
One of the greatest pieces of music ever written!
One of the greatest performances ever, shared!
Thank You so much Filharmonia Narodowa!
Słucham tego nagrania chyba już czwarty raz. I jeszcze kilka razy wysłucham.
It's as though this music has cosmic scope resonates through all creation.
„Since by man came death” - chyba najlepsze wykonanie, jakie kiedykolwiek słyszałam, pełne wewnętrznej siły, w doskonałym tempie i harmonii.
Przyłączam się zdalnie do owacji ;) Bravi!!! Szczególne ukłony nadzwyczajnej pierwszej trąbce...
