  • If you're looking into buying a budget 3D scanner - You're probably come across #3DMakerPro and maybe their #Mole #3dscanner. They asked me if I wanted to do a review before Black Friday and I said I'd do my best with the limited time I got to use it. I think this video will answer any of your questions, if not, comment and I'll try to help!
✔ The Black Friday sale 3DMakerPro 3D scanners are from 20-30 November. The Mole is on 30% discount:
    #affiliatelink to the 3DmakerPro Mole 3D Scanner:
    Amazon: amzn.to/3MR3xyN
3DMakerPro webshop where you can find their other Scanner as well: geni.us/3DmakerProMOLE
If you don't want to use affiliatelinks (it's free you know) you can just go to the 3DmakerPro website and check it out.
I've also personally backed the 3DMakerPro SEAL 3D Scanner, on kickstarter and should have min arriving any day now. I'll do a review of that one as well (in time) so make sure you Subscribe!

How do you scan big parts? Mine always stop at 320f

If you do turntable, you just have to more scans. But if you're not using the turntable/simple mode (or whatever it was called) it shouldnt stop at 320 frames

Helpful, but surely reading the manual first would be a good idea..you DO calibrate before scanning, maybe doing this you would have had some better results ?

There is an automatic calibration file downloaded automatically when you plug the scanner first time, is this what you mean? That calibration file is used in my review, and not really relevant as it’s not something I calibrate my particular scanner with. Meaning that if my scanner has optics shifted, other working temperature etc, the scanner can be a bit off. And yes, the metrology examples could probably be better if there was a calibration I could do myself.

@@3DPrintTechDesign Thanks for the information,. I think I saw this video, rather than seeing it in a manual: They remove subject from turntable, and then replace it, not well explained I must admit.

No worries! I didn’t see the video you linked yet, but the turntable thingy is to help locate the plate and remove it easier after a scan :) less selecting of “unwanted” surfaces for the user 👍

Good review, highlights both the +ve(few) and -ve(many) and points out the total BS in the adverts and promises by 3dMaker Pro. Could also do with pointing out the manufacturers rubbish warranty and return policy where they decide who you ship with, charge you US$100 +taxes before you even start!!!! Personally I found the whole thing off-putting and underhanded in how they attract buyers!!

That sounds like a pretty wierd warranty/return policy. Not sure it's allowed depending on region. I came across this on the indiegogo/kickstarter campaign for the new SEAL, where one can't expect warranty. Heck, indiegogos are a miracle if you even receive anything. But for customers who buy the product from the store, this shouldn't be the case as warranty is expected.

Have yet to find a decent "budget" scanner. Have just got one of these and it's really quite poor, like all the other low end stuff. Don't bother.

I think you should see my video on the moose 3D scanner, it’s cheaper and basically performs the same. Or, you can wait for the Raptor that I’ve written about (but not yet have a video on) from creality. It’s expensive, but performs 5x its price or something.

@@3DPrintTechDesign Yes I will be trying the Raptor. If it performs that well it is a bargain!
