Funeral planning represents an inherently difficult time for those who have just lost a loved one and, unfortunately, this is too often compounded by the debt that’s incurred simply trying to celebrate a person’s life.
Expenses for funeral arrangements quickly add up - from the casket and venue to transportation, the burial, and other funeral services. The average funeral cost in America currently ranges between $7,000 to $12,000.
To ease the burden of this entire process, Alison Johnston and Eric Zarowny created Ever Loved: an online platform that shows you how to plan a funeral, without stressing over how to pay for it.

Yeah I don’t get how this service does anything aside from being a wiki. I’m sure it did something but it doesn’t communicate it at all

Happy to answer that! I'm Alison, the woman in the video and the CEO of Ever Loved. We help with costs in several ways, including:
      1. We help families crowdfund funeral expenses easily in the same place where they’re sharing funeral details, obituaries, etc.
      2. We make it easy for people to find and compare funeral homes based on price (something that was historically very difficult without making tons of phone calls).
      3. We have a marketplace for products like caskets, headstones, etc., where you can often find funeral products for about 1/2 the price you’d pay at your local funeral home. This can equate to thousands of dollars in savings.
You can see everything that we do on our website at everloved.com

Hi Justin, I'm Alison, the woman in the video and the CEO of Ever Loved. We help families in 4 main ways:
      1. Financing. We have a platform that makes it easy to crowdfund funeral expenses.
      2. Planning and purchasing. We help people find the best funeral services, cemeteries, caskets, etc. for them at the best prices. Through this, we can help families save thousands.
      3. Communication. We make it super easy to share key information with friends and family through a memorial website. This includes publishing an obituary, sharing funeral details, seeing RSVPs, collecting photos and stories and a lot more.
      4. Ongoing support. We help people manage grief through our grief center and have tons of resources to help families navigate everything they need to do settle their loved one’s affairs.

@@alisonj09 I think it would be more awesome if you add some kind of personal fund management service for funeral expense, so people can 'grow' their money to cover the funeral expense. Because in my opinion, not everyone can depend their funeral expenses solely on their income or crowdfund. There should be another option for them.

@@techhawk4946 certainly true and important to remember! The flip side is when people aren't rich, and it costs too much money to put them in the grave. It can create a real challenge for their surviving family, so we're glad these folks are doing their best to help.

Sounds a lot like the service that Undertaking L.A. has been offering for a while. I wonder if they're associated with the Order of the Good Death and other death advocacy groups.

what is order of the good death?

    • @iluan_
      @iluan_ 2 роки тому +1

They're an advocacy group that deals with the rights of individuals who are dying and their families. They mostly educate people on what are their choices regarding what is done with their remains, what are the legal resources that they have to make sure those choices are respected, and what are the rights of grieving families regarding the treatment of their departed by third parties (i.e. Funeral homes). What made me think about them in this video is that another thing they do is promoting the use of alternative methods of handling human remains that are eco-friendly and budget friendly, including promoting their legalization in places where those choices are still not allowed by the law. I lost track of them a while ago, but this sounds like something those people would be cheering on.

The best funeral is the tibetan . In it, a man destroy the dead body with a knife and huge rocks, the organs, tissues and smashed bones, he gives to the vultures around him. In two hours the human dead body dissapear totally, and don't destroy the water natural sources, don't invade agricultural lands, don't waist wood or gas. But in occident we don't do this, because we do the " right ".
