Brye and shop are great. As for chaining, a couple of years ago, I had an issue with broken chains causing flat and damage. The main factor dot wanted chains for ice, slick spots. The pavement was a grinder. So, to prevent that again, I went to socks. It costs a little more, but it saves time and cost of repairs. I have 5 sets.

Drying them out is a pain, though. I use the bumper for 2 at a time.
