Passed at 21 I’m now 55 and still watch these videos, never too old to be taught something, nice tips, I enjoy watching your videos
I am 76.................................never took a test, still got a licence.
Just starting passed 3 weeks ago.
My brother, what does he mean by you always get your bearings around the middle axle on 8:15❓️
Does he mean that you follow the middle axle until the middle axle is inside the bay or touching the bay❓️ when is it time you straighten out❓️ please explain 🙏🏽
Very new driver, just signed my contract today. Found it really difficult to park between 2 trailers today, but you explained it very well and I will try it tomorrow as I really want to learn how to do it. Tomorrow is my first day off to London and I am really nervous.
How did you get on?
@@elmochacho3 Slightly better ☺😂
And now?
Now?
Well, I wouldn't say that I am faultless, but much better than before. 😅
I just passed my class 1 last Friday after driving class 2 for 3 years! Learning more and more every day but this video is great help!
Glad it was helpful!
This is very helpful. Thank you Raul for another great video. Driving C+E for 5 months. Everything became much easier when I understood 1) positioning before reversing is the key 2) oversteering won't help at all 3) don't rush and go outside if you need
Great advise Raul if you cant see or hear whats going on you could end up in trouble I have been driving 50+ years and never have the radio on I like to hear what the vehicle and anything around me is doing .
had my first shift yesterday after having my license for 6 months really struggled with the reversing you’ve made it much easier mate! thank you!
I have 1 shift a week and keep trying it this way but the trick is to stop the truck in the right position ready for the reverse. Know one mentioned seeing the corner of the trailer in the left hand mirror !!! will try that next time. Great video and well explained Raul.
Waooooo I get it. Started 3 days ago but didnt understand angle parking on bay. Take 10 shunts. But you made my day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Raul, just passed my CE test, these videos and tips will come in very handy im sure! Cheers mate 👍
Best of luck!
Great explanation. I also love that you have an AC/DC T-shirt👍
Thanks!
Greetings from Australia!
Great video mate. I've watched a heap of American videos doing backing tutorials, most of them are just showing off their skills and not teaching.
You taught very well!
Thanks for the great explanation, I'm going to go for C+E license and I wanted to have a little shed of light what is to reverse an artticulated truck. Cheers
Thanks Raul. Your videos have helped me a lot over the past 10 months. Thanks again
i start my training on tuesday, this has helped ALOT. glad i watched it, thankyou for sharing
Your reversing videos helped me so much. New pass and used your vids to help with a recent assessment. Job secured. Top video.
Great video as always. I've reversed into some very difficult spaces on Euro Truck Simulator 2 😄
that is a really good way to practice 👍
Awesome I failed my Shunter training last week after training for 10 hours only they told me I won't make regardless of not having any previous knowledge of trucks. Great video 👍
Thank you so much for your explanation bro. Im new semi trailer driver in Australia, this is best video and very helpful for me to learn. Cheers 🍻
Brilliant advice my friend this is a very big issue for me and one that is really not covered in the training process . yes there is a reverse manoeuvre but nothing like you are doing here. In time im sure i will have a better understanding . Thanks.
Great video Raul, Reversing can be such a mystery and a concern for someone considering a Class 1 licence
Thank you Raul, that was really helpful.
My older brother passed class one in 1975. First time. He could do nearly all his reversing with head out of the window watching the trailer wheels. He became an expert driver on crash gearbox double de clutching. Went on to do most of the repairs on his trucks over the years. It's all a learning curve nobody was born with a steering wheel or a spanner in their hand.❤😂

Second situation Bellshill Morrisons. Very helpful film mate. Thanks
Brilliant Raul, as usual. Thank you for that video!👍
Man you are so good, i wish i was this good. Some of these spaces dont even look big enough for a trailer.
Thank you so much for all of your helpful clips from a Newby. Would you consider making a clip where we have the space to straighten up and reverse into a bay & how to setup for such. Thanks John
Great idea!
Excellent description, calm knowledge and clear explanation.👍👍
You make is look so easy. But a good point when you mentioned pushing the trailer, makes sense.
Ive got my 2 week practical course coming up in a few weeks, never towed anything in my life, not even a small trailer or a caravan. But i am a confident driver, so expect i will get the hang of it quickly. Got a steering wheel setup and been practising on euro truck simulator, it seems to help. 😀 But obviously, nothing like doing it in real life.
Thanks for the vid and the tips.
In Baghdad killed me 😂
Same. Must be Bradford or Birmingham
Nice and smooth - good to have a procedure you follow, it just makes it so much easier to start from the same consistent position wherever you can.
My other pointer for new guys would always be: if you trailer angle is wrong, don't try to fix the problem moving backwards. I see newer drivers throwing the cab left and right trying to fix the angle of the trailer or jack-knifing off the road with the trailer at 90 degrees when a simple shunt forwards to straighten up would fix the problem. I would always try to do as much of my reversing in a straight line as I can and use the forward shunt to pull the trailer into line whenever I can.
Getting my class 1 license soon in Romania, this video was really helpful. Thank you :)
Good luck to you , you will be keeping the country going .
Thanks for the video, really helpful. I'm really fresh in artic driving and the biggest problem with reversing is to find the moment when I need to follow the trailer, I tend to overturn
Love your video mate, helps alot as a beginner.
Glad to hear it!
passed my class 1 yestarday and freaking out about reversing, did do the reversing test in training but could never get the trailer straight hoping to get a job soon and going to try this cheers
This is helpful Raul l learned a lot from your videos keep it up, bro
And yes a great video with an easy explanation
Great video, good tip is to use as much room as allows also, i see quite a few new drivers coming for assessments that try to 90 degree back into a bay and inevitably dont get it … but with everything its practice i suppose
Great masterclass Raul.
Hey Raul, how you doing? Hope you are well. Just wanted to say thank you so much for this vid, just started driving artics for a job this week and was struggling with the reversing. I still struggle but not as much as i did thanks to you, keep up the great vids and hopefully see you on the road some day 👍
Thanks Raul. Really helpful 👌
Great vid Thanks so much for the info. My reversing is shocking... guess its because I dont drive full time. Please keep em coming
Another tip you told middle axle❤❤❤❤
Big thank you
"our yard in bagdad" 🤣🤣 great vids.
Glad you enjoyed
Great advice you make it look so easy
Hi mate, great video !! Sound advice too . Just taken & passed Heavy rigid I’m looking for all the help I can find .
Thanks for sharing you experience and knowledge 👍🇦🇺
Impressive stuff!….👍
Thank you for the insite. Interesting stuff as always.
I'm 7 months into Class 1 career , went to a place last week i did in my tanker training and couldn't reverse for sh!t . Last week straight in first time . Practice practice practice and don't be afraid to ask for help .
I'm a newly qualified driver. Struggling to get my first job, everyone wants at least 6months experience. I have finally got a chance for an interview but didn't pass my assessment during reversing despite I did managed to reverse on the bay twice but after several manoeuvring. I hope this video will help me for the next time.
@@Martepiece I'm in the same situation
Great video. Point to note, always nearside reverse if you can. Easier to see in nearest mirror and able to move you head in and around driver window
Nearside reversing is harder because it's from blind side - you don't see much. Offside is from driver's side and is way easier, just like showed in this video - he reversed from offside view
Great video! Very helpful.
It was really helpful, thank you! 😎🤩
Great video👍 If you peeps ever get a nasty blindside reverse turn your mirror out in the Cab so you have a bit of vision.
Hope it helps:)
This is a great video. One question. At 7:36, how do you know how much room you have on the other side of the trailer? I've been trying to follow this guide for the last week and I keep having to get out and check because from the cab it looks like I won't make it when in fact I will?
It's a good thing to go out and check. But with experience, you can assess if the trailer will fit in a gap before you begin the manoeuvre. If you keep it close to the trailer that is in your field of view, you can be sure that you will not hit the one in your blind spot. but it's definitely better to go out and check
Reverse the trailer more or less straight before entering the bay so you’re not steering into the bay thus risk hitting the other side shunt forward to see both mirrors again and then reverse in straight. I’m no expert still trying to perfect this myself but I hope this helps.
the examples are very helpful. Thankyou

Do you mean that you follow the middle axle until the middle axle is inside the bay or touching the bay❓️ when do you it is time you straighten out❓️ please explain 🙏🏽
What he means is that the trailer turns on the middle axle so you keep an eye on that. Hope this helps.
Good advice Raul . Great T shirt
You are the best person mate
Raul is magnificent.
Ive been learning in that yard today 😊
Very helpful 👍
Nice skills Sir, it's funny how you said, heads out like a dog 😂
Raul, What's your best advice for turning in tight delivery yards, did York Morrisons on Saturday...so tight but managed it after jack knifing the trailer, had a chat with the staff who said its common for drivers to struggle 🤷 it was a chilled trailer with the suzies on the sliding rack...took it very steady when pulling the trailer round
It helped me a lot ‼️
Great blog mate love it 👍 i always found it harder reverse double Decker trailer the small wheels 🤦♂️
Hello, thanks for the great video. Just got my class one license and my first job is as a shunter which as far as i know is easier to park with than tractor unit. I can see most of my colleagues are taking their heads out of the windown when reversing, is it a must to do it this way? If you are doing 60 shunts per day, your neck, back and shoulders will feel sore probably. Is it possible to reverse without taking my head out of the window? Also the weather, winter, rain and cold...
Thank you for your video I wish I could reverse as well as you. I passed this August my class 1. Have you ever hit or scratched something reversing? and if you did, what is the usual process with your employer? Thanks
I scratched a car once manoeuvring into a construction site while 2 banksman were watching me. The construction company dealt with the damage as the banksman failed to see that
Good video, you should show more
Great advice, thank you.
Brilliant! Thanks!
is that the Morrisons in Bellshill? I'm new driving the articulated truck and I have a drop there every day, always get a bay between 2 other trucks and I can fell how the other drivers judge me for my lack of experience and multiple attempts to put it at the bay 😅
Great video but I love seeing manoeuvres from the outside is that possible? I am a very weird person who loves watching lorries reversing into the bays at my local supermarkets.
Thank you 👍👍
Hi was that first reverse at Farmer Boys Winsford?
I did reversing today for the first time and found it so hard
I just could not get it right even with the instructions feel very deflated
But hopefully your video will help
Gud skill of teaching
Do you find that a fridge is easier to reverse than a Superheavy container?
Not a trucker but I play trucksims and holy shit is this difficult to do haha. Takes some crazy skill
Is this morrisons bridgwater yard ?
Hi guys I m thinking about doing an apprenticeship for C1 licence is it worth it or is better to do it by yourself. Thanks
great vid my friend
QUEEN ELIZABETH : HOLD MY BEER.
On your 2nd reverse you said when you see the trailer in your mirror. Was that the nearside mirror and would that be the trailer thats going to be on your left when you're parked?
TIA
I was talking about your own trailer. When you see the corner of the trailer sticking out in your left mirror. Hope it helps
I love it thanks 👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks your you are helping me 🙏 but I am new driver please make one video for me reverse parking
Rauls way is the way to go....feel the truck and place it where you feel its to be placed and keep it slow...never rush💪
I just passed my class c+e with stobart and based at Dagenham Depo I'm just getting stressed regarding the reverse manoeuvre
Very interesting and educative.but, for me I struggled with my straight reverse..I couldn't make it like ruler
Never thought i would see you driving a Police Range Rover |||||
Hello Raul. I love your videos. Can I ask a question ?
I am interested in class 1 and not class 2. I heard that the government relaxed the rules so people can go from the basic car licence to class 1. Is that true and do you recommend that ?
Yes, it is true, but you will struggle to get work straight on class 1 👍
@@Raul689 I just called the hgv driving school and they said that I can go from B straight to class 1 and the class 1 licence will also include class 2 driving lessons however this will not require me to pass class 2,, just class 1. They say that agencies take on new class 1 drivers with no experience but it can take weeks to find a job, so you are right it wont be easy to find work as a class 1 new pass.
3.500 pounds )))
Second reversing is it Bellshill in Scotland?
Yes 👍
@@Raul689 i live nearby 😉
Great👍
Doing C+E but our trailer has a dolly/pivot (?) in the front, it’s not rigid. So hard.
Hi. I m new pass i tried to reverse in assesment but failed 2 times. No experience and my own comapny i work for refused to train me for reversing. So i m stuck on class 2 atm. Dont wanna take name but its pathetic replied me with reasons for not to train from management replied no finance to do so ??
How can i have more of your videos
Subscribe 👍
Thank you.. !! Are you Polish?
Nope, Romanian
Okey only done it in a simulator, disregarding the size and such it is not to bad, the swedish rigs well now that is a different beast and i fail miserably :)
Hey , Am from USA . What will I earn if i drive truck in the UK as a company driver?
Anywhere between 500 and 1000 per week, depending on location and the tipe of work
How I reverse is press the brake, select reverse and go.
0:44 very common sight? police car towing a caravan? 😱😱😱😱
