I love watching your content! I adore the Estoc for its ability to crowd control and easily swap between many targets. One of the better choices for 1vX situations. Treating the Estoc like an extendo Rapier is a good start to learning the weapon. The stabs are powerful, slashes weak. However, mostly everybody underestimates how quick and hard to see the slashes are. A simple playstyle for this weapon is slashing frequently, with intermittent stabs (either morphed or off of a riposte). And BE AGGRESSIVE! The Estoc is not a spear or Halberd, get stuck in and let the speed work for you.
A tip for dealing with mauls that I recently learned is to perform a "matrix" -- which is where you crouch and look up (leans your head back) -- while also moving backwards. Nearly all (if not all) horizontal swings will simply miss you, and most overheads will land on the body instead of the head. The maul is a short and slow weapon with no ability to combo and costs a lot of stamina, so use its downsides to your advantage!
I've just recently started using the Estoc and it's actually kind of nuts. In team modes, you can stab between teammates super easily and quickly, targeting anyone with low health and aiming for heads with low armor. And its slashing power is very helpful for handling single or multiple opponents by yourself, probably every other accel lands and drags are easy to perform.
Fun Fact: The alternate grip on the Estoc is actually called "Mordhau"! It's a style of fighting where you (obviously) grab the blade of the sword whilst wearing gloves with armored palms, and use the pommel like a hammer!
Always happy to see a new upload. Do you record multiple sessions a day or do you play one game and directly upload it? And do you ever plan to make a QnA?
Thanks! New uploads daily. I recorded the Estoc and the Scimitar video back to back, because I've been dealing with a bit of a cold and didn't know if I'd have the energy to record more later in the week. Usually I record the night before a video goes live. I've been gathering questions/interest in topics for a New Player Tips video. It'll just take some time to record and edit.
Love your vids Tom keep up the good work. I was happy to see that you uploaded an estoc video, lately I started maining that thing. Is there trics with stab weapons like for slash weapons the acel/drag?
You can kiiind of drag/accel with its stabs. Think about how you drag/accel slash attacks from side-to-side, then apply that same concept with up/down vertical manipulation. I'm by far not an expert with that, but I've seen people do it. It looks like the person is going to stab way over your head and then you just took damage.
An easy way to drag a stab is to look above your opponent. Then after you *grunt* (Your swing is active), look/drag downwards. For effective results, try experimenting with a horizontal stab drag. Start with an upper right stab directed at your opponents center. Then drag to your opponent's left side. The trick is to keep your reticle on your opponents center for as long as possible while still in the windup phase. This is hard to explain over text... I usually play on US East servers. So, if you see me around I am willing and happy to help.
Estoc slashing is great for controlling the pace of the fight or keeping a group at bay. Combine with dodge and try to slip around peoples backsides. Do them like Darksouls
estoc is good and all, idk if it's still the same as before when i stoped playing, but to me it always seems like the longsword and the rapier to overshadow it
It was fun for a bit! Unfortunately the gameplay just isn't great. I wish it was because there's so much fun stuff to throw, but it just never really felt good to play imo.
I got the game for free and was enjoying it but now it seems like people have stopped playing and I guess you can imagine the kind of players that are left lol. I just can't have fun dying for people using maul. (Remembering that I play on South America so things may be different there)
Can you do a halberd with alt grip mode? Has almost the same range of spear and deals heavy damage without the ability to combo. I wanted to see how you would deal with it
I keep hearing you say only the Estoc and Longsword are the only two swords that use the Mordhau grip, but I'm pretty sure the great sword does as well, and it drives me crazy lol. Love your videos
Thank you! So, Greatsword is a half-grip, like the Zweihander. You don't use the hilt of the Greatsword (or Zwei) to batter your enemy with, like you do with the Estoc/Longsword.

I love the estoc. It's fun to 2 hit heavies with head stabs, and it's turn rate is so high you can drag anything like crazy.

@@EpicBrew i also meant questions about you :)
Why does that mouse wheel attack on the maul do so much damage? It's flat
There’s a lot about the maul that doesn’t make sense
i got hit by that side of the sledgehammer once and it hurts
If it had a lil spike on the top I'd be cool. But 40 damage for a flat stab is woah lol
Love the Daily mordhau content

19:25 I agree! Chambers should really let you chamber earlier.
Amazing video as always
Thank you! Was a struggle due my cold but I did my best lol.
thanks for video!
greetings from Russia =)
Fun match as always, was hilarious how miffed you got from the mauls sometimes ❤️ would love to see the Judge Dredd build in action again sometime.
They’re just so boring to fight against. And loads of people use them so it’s an almost constant thing to deal with.
As a lowly console guy watching your videos bums me out that Chivalry 2 died so fast. It was always fun watching your Chiv videos, “Chiv please.”

do you ever play with your subscribers? I've been trying to catch you in a game for like 2 years lol
Community night, when they happen is your best chance.
It’s always acceptable to go out of your way to kill maul users
Good. The more time you spend trying to kill me the less time you spend doing the objective.
@@roguebogey what tends to counter a good maul user?
Just chamber maul users
@@roguebogey yeah I didn’t mean that far out buddy
Will we ever get a try hard video Tom?
No, I don’t play video games like that. I put that kind of energy into my work. Video games are for relaxing not filling achievement voids.
Seems like the estoc is either really good or really bad. Beware the estoc main in a duel server
When you see the estoc in their hands: =]
When you see the estoc in their hands and they look up and crouch during windup: =[
