    It always seems to be windy in Den Haag. It is close to the shore/beach. I guess thats why

    • @RiversRoamEurope
      @RiversRoamEurope  Місяць тому +1

      We think that's the reason as well. Most days it's welcomed and tolerable, but there are some days that are so windy we have to hold onto our hats.

    What a beautiful city you live in now as well. Loved this tour of where you will be staying for a little while. So many beautiful buildings. 😉🩷

    You can also have groceries delivered to your home. Almost all supermarkets have a website where you can order their products. For a few euros they will bring it to your front door.
    And in terms of food, you should also try the Indonesian ones although the vegetarian options are somewhat more limited there.

    • @RiversRoamEurope

      Thank you for that tip! I have seen some of the AH trucks around and the Pic Nic ones too but good to know. Someone else suggested we try the Indonesian food too. We just tried one recently (coming soon in a video) and holy moly! Ive never in my life had such amazing Indian food ever!!!!

      @@RiversRoamEurope Indonesia (which we are talking about here) and India are two different countries.
      There are also some Indian restaurants, but who have Indonesian foot can be found everywhere in the Netherlands.
      By the way, India also has delicious, predominantly vegetarian food.
      So you can't go wrong 😆

    A few days in the Netherlands and already complaining about the weather. That is very normal, as does every Dutch person, there is more to complain about, but everyone always complains about the weather here... 😊

    Regarding a 10 minute walk to the grocery stores, maybe you have to become a little more Dutch ;-) and buy some bikes ! In that way the traveling will become only 2,5 minutes. Since this is only a short trip you can get your groceries daily and really fresh, instead of like in the USA, where they get the groceries only once a month. Furthermore you do have a place to stall the bikes just outside the apartment :-) Thanks for taking us with you on your walk through Den Haag !

    • @RiversRoamEurope
      @RiversRoamEurope  Місяць тому

      Yes, we've been talking about it. We need to see how Tarlo handles traveling on a bike. He has a history of bad motion sickness which is why we haven't gotten one yet. Fingers crossed he can handle it!

    This isn't a normal summer. But it does explain why we haven't had to do airco so far. We are going to get more aircon places though, because just like it's abnormally cold this year, things been getting abnormally hot recently as well.
    But june july august are not supposed to be this cold!
    what are you looking for in Den Haag?

    • @RiversRoamEurope

    (see also my comment on your other vlog of The Hague). Nice to see you walking in the centre! But on the text slides you show here and there, can you please let them on a bit longer? I need to pause the playback to read most in full and that's while I am a quite fast reader of English.
    Once you want to see more than just The Hague, just peruse the "buncharted" UA-cam channel. Apart from also being foodies they make a habit of visiting many NL places!

      Thanks for the suggestion. I'll make them longer when I can ;-) Our travels will be different from others since we travel with our dog ;-) but we have a list of places to see and of course, that will take time since we typically explore on the weekends.

      @@RiversRoamEurope There's good forests and parks in and around Den Haag. Meijendel is great. Though not easy to get to without a car. Start with Clingendael for example. Westbroekpark, Scheveningse Bosjes, all easy to reach by tram or bus.

    You are alowed to speak in a normal voice in The Netherlands. Tell you companion to get rid of the ridiculous cap. Look around you, nobody uses baseball caps here. Especially middle-aged folks don't.

      Um, Im not sure what you mean by speaking in a normal voice. The only time I change my voice is when I'm speaking to Tarlo. I will not tell him that. He is allowed to wear what he wants. I actually counted 9 men wearing "baseball caps" this morning while on a walk.

      Thanks so much! As Americans, we are able to stay in a country for 90 days without a visa. But we are in the process of getting our visa's since we will be living here for a least a year ;-) (we may or may not stay here after a year, no set plans as of now. If we do move, it will be to another country)
