- heya ! this whole shebang started as a vent and developed farther than i initially intended , but im very proud of it !
due to recent events , ive decided to pull back an idea i wasnt able to bring to fruition and actually Do Something with it ! if you can figure it out , kudos !
edit: this video got a lot more attention than i ever dreamed it could . thank you all ! its such a wonderful surprise to see new comments on this video . while i havent stopped to say thank you to everyone , i mean it sincerely when i say this means the world to me. there is one more thing id like to address briefly:
i would like to reiterate that this video is deeply personal to me , and thus i would not like anyone blatantly copying the format or visuals made here (ive already seen a video 'inspired' by this , which essentially recreated the whole thing) . imitation is hardly a form of flattery (it certainly isnt one to me) and i would appreciate if the concepts used here were not taken . thanks . 🐇✨

I almost started crying while watching this. For some reason I feel I can relate, even though the meaning behind it is a bit vague. Being able to see the longer haired character as anything I think is powerful, since it can be interpreted as any number of things. (Mental illness, struggles with personal identity, trauma, etc) Idk, its a good video and the art is really pretty

that is a very realistic way of thinking about it , and also not wrong either ! its hard to explain , but youre definitely onto something !
the idea that had while making this is of a man who had a rough upbringing (not exclusively bc hes trans , but that also plays a significant role , as well as childhood abuse and neglect) and demonizing himself as he shambles toward adulthood , so much so that his negativity manifests as hallucinations of his younger self who is out to sabotage him .
i hope this made sense !! your interpretation is absolutely not wrong and i like to think people can take from this what they interpret + what helps them ! thank u for watching and commenting ! i love hearing what people think about this !!!

It's really all been said before at this point, but this is stunning both visually and emotionally and I can't even imagine how much went into making something like this. Personally, I saw a lot of my own mental issues reflected in it and it helps to see that out in the world. Love this song though, it's been in my therapy playlist for years

there is a story , but its not like an oc kinda thing ! its about a man stumbling toward adulthood after a traumatic upbringing and developing a hatred for himself that ends up being so violent and destructive that it manifests as hallucinations of his younger self , an entity he believes is out to sabotage him . hope that makes sense ! thank you so much !!!

Need to put this out here. This song has been there through the middle years of my transition into present day. It has seen some of the most difficult obstacles I've had to face in my day to day life. But it captures my past and current road in a way that words never will be able to. The grief, the guilt, the shame, the panic, the fear, the way you feel as though something is eating you from the inside out, the inability to see yourself in a mirror, the way it creeps in and completely rips you apart. It's not something that has a word. And yet, somehow you made this... masterpiece that captures every little bit of what I have had to and still have to work through on the daily. So thank you. It has been helping to heal a part of the child I never got to be growing up and you'll never know how grateful I am for that.

I understand wholeheartedly. I know it doesn't feel like it, but this stage of your life is temporary. Work may never be as fulfilling as our dreams, but there are comfortable opportunities out there for you that won't just disappear. I've moved far past the stage of my life this video was made for, but I still struggle. That said, I can look back at the distance I've made from then and now and find comfort knowing I'm making my own way. I hope that soon, you can too. It might sound hollow, but I mean it when I say it'll get better. Even if only a little bit. You're working your ass off and deserve to celebrate that fact. You've come a long way - keep going. This is AMAZING and i can already pick out symbolism
The past character is like the prime image of bad mental health with long hair and baggy hoodies to hide from the outside like people with anxiety, depression, dysphoria, low self esteem, ect. And how the storyline around them to me looks like being raised in a heavily religious household that demands perfection and such and the present self seems nearly the opposite with short hair to show themselves and tattoos and more show-y clothes to show individuality and just confidence and rebelliousness with parts still showing the things they cant shake from their past. And when the past self pops up its kinda like saying "You can power through your problems and mental illnesses but they aren't going away for good and can come back later on and twice as hard it just depends on if you are up for the fight" the past is the past but its hard to truly escape it and the things cause from it even if you are so far ahead it can come back.
The storyline in this is fantastic and it goes amazingly with the song (well its made from the song so its obvious but either way i still really frikkin like this)

Relatable but athiest instead of Christian (I went to normal public school) I'm pretty normal except my weirdness nothing bad and nothing good.
It really feels like this is only something you can truly get, and I really enjoy that about this.
I was diagnosed about a year ago with bipolar disorder and the time before the treatment scares me because I was hurting myself and the people around me. Sometimes I'd feel an episode coming and I'm reminded that although I like to think I'm a new person, I'm still that same girl that that did terrible things and had unspeakable thoughts. Then those thoughts start to come back and I feel disgusted with myself. It's like being haunted by yourself.
