Taking 7 turns off and then casting a Zendikar Resurgent is a level of durdle I didn't know was possible
I thought durdling was doing a whole bunch of stuff, but none of it is impactful?
@@jamesgreenwood1703 whats more not impactful than just playing lands and passing lol?
@@winssports4830 I’m talking about turns where you are doing a lot of stuff, but none of it is doing anything relevant
@jamesgreenwood1703 i know lol youre right i was just saying not playing anything is not doing anything lol.
@@winssports4830 oh okay
As Richard pointed out at 3:07:00 if he Tooth and Nails for Old Gnawbone he hits for 14 on Seth, makes 14 mana, uses it to cast Eternal Dragon which gains haste, and then uses Fury of the Horde to hit Seth with one dragon and Crim with the other two to kill both securing the W
*looks at game length*
Niuttuc is a saint
I dont know what theyre paying over there at Commander Clash but it aint enough lol
Tomer's reaction of drawing the aforementioned skullclamp at 54:10 was incredible
we NEED a short about that moment
I didn't even notice it the first time watching
Spoiler alert
I just about screamed when I saw Crim picked my Giants deck! Can't wait to watch this after work and see how it performs.
Richard's hand these first 2 turns is hilarious
I'm excited to see Seth playing my deck, I knew he couldn't resist Swans. I powered it down a little so it was good to see that it wasn't too absurd, and the table was able to stay competitive.
That was hilarious, a game decided by a haircut and a timeout. Love it.
The part where Seth just started asking people what their favorite oil has me laughing way more than I think I should be
This has got to be one of the longest commander clash games/recordings in clash history considering we know based on the haircut this game went at least 3 hours and 50 minutes
Basically yes. Our meeting starts at 1PM to record but usually we start the game like 10min after. I did leave at 4:20pm to reach my 4:30pm haircut though.
Too many boardwipes!
Tomers reaction to drawing skullclamp lol 😂
Tomer as a fellow frequent "archenemy" target Ive learned you have to steel your emotions or else people will enjoy targeting you too much 😂
I find it best if you play the long game. Most of the time you have to agree when they target you EVEN if you think they are wrong so that sometimes if you really need something you can question them and they will at least consider the possibility that you are right
Only about an hour in so far but this seems like the most fun the crew has had in a while. Great fun decks!
Been a while since we got a long video; even longer since we got a 3 hour one. I’m hyped.
Honored to have my deck featured! One Richard punt away from glory!! Thanks for a great video!
Can we get an "Everyone plays the One Ring" week for the last episode where everyone tries to do OP stuff with the One Ring as a final send off before it's banned?
Thada Adel, Acquisitor vs. Thada Adel, Acquisitor vs. Thada Adel, Acquisitor vs. Thada Adel, Acquisitor
Hey editors: could you clip the point where Tomer top decks the Skull Clamp? I think that would be an entertaining clip 😂
Thanks in advance lol
@Richard
This game feels like a cool way to teach the importance of making the right land drops. Richard could have had all 5 colors turn 2 by playing Raffine's Tower ( 03:43 )instead of Xander's Lounge. Ultimately ( 01:53:00 ), he couldn't play his angel that turn.
I don't say it's objectively a bad play, maybe Richard had something in mind. And maybe it was even better to play the Morophon instead of Angel. Who know's
I just think it's interesting how a land drop at turn 2 affects the game x-turn later.
Love you guys!
1:48:04 You can absolutely "fizzle" Star of Extinction by removing the land that it targets before it resolves. If all of a spell's targets are illegal when it would resolve, it doesn't, and it is put into the graveyard instead.
One day, one day I swear, you're all gonna gang up on Richard immediately, before he can talk his way in to being ignored while you turn on each other.
Nah if you attack the guy who pays you to play commander with him you get a write up
Couldn’t Richard have killed Seth at 3:08:07 by choosing Karrthus & Terror of Mount Velus? Both triggers make them double strike and haste since they enter at the same time under Tooth & Nail?
Yeah, but Fury and the two red cards from Tiamat (had it worked that way) would have been lethal too.
The problem here is that he needed to kill crim and seth in the same turn since crim can just kill him next turn (richard is at 7hp). Someone else pointed out that he wouldve gotten 14 treasures from karrthus & gnawbone securing him the double kill since he can drop another dragon and take an extra combat (who wouldve guessed gnawbone is broken).
Atarka, World Render would have worked too
Watching Tomer play the bounce land and Seth's face with the hunger to strip mine it. If it only had flash.
This was the best viewer submitted pod ever. Great submissions everyone!
Back in 1999, a buddy of mine had an Enduring Renewal, Ornithopter, Goblin Bombardment deck that was a lot of fun to watch go off. Good to see one of these cards again
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who built a 7-drop deck inspired by Tomer's 6-drop deck (and deleted tweet about wanting to see 7-drop decks)
I love the Chicken Pizziola call-out! Such a great sub!
7 drop tribal could really benefit by playing a Nyxbloom Ancient so you can actually do more than one thing a turn
Was I the only one screaming at my screen for Richard to cast Tooth and Nail every turn?!😂
Awwww i didnt know yall were doing viewer decks i would have totally submitted one.
Did Tomer say that Garfield intended a single card draw to cost eleven mana? Could someone please show Tomer Ancestral Recall?
Garfield tended to design cards that where more dexterity oriented like chaos orb and falling star
It took me almost an entire day on and off to finish watching this, which is probably pretty equivalent to how yall felt playing these decks haha
2:15:28 The "favorite oil" gag will never get old!
Hey Crim totally understand that feeling. I bought a table and new bed sheets and a pillow and I’ve been so excited about it.
Saying Land Tax is a bad card has the same weight as calling Cosmo a bad dog. 😂
Big fan of three of these commanders hope the decks are fun for the whole table
i really enjoy dropping an enduring renewal from time to time. Sure, it's a combo piece with any 0 drop creature, a sac outlet and a weaponized (or mana positive) etb/ltb effect, but it can also just an added layer of protection for a high value creature, and filter into non-creatures in decks that want them.
I play it mostly in my Sram, Senior Edificer deck and it helps filter into equipment/auras, but in a pinch, can also just win with blasting/grinding station and ornithopter/memnite 😀
Not Crim's cheeky Moisturize at the beginning and end of the episode XD
So… $55CAD haircut? Flying high there budget commander. 😂
Now we know why Tomer is always playing budget decks, his money goes towards haircuts ;)
I shudder to imagine what Tomer could do if he used his drip dollars on MTG.
@@atle853 it’s probably for the best to let DRIP do its work. It is definitely to Tomer’s benefit to not mess with that flow too much when it could serve him well over time.
At 3:05:16 why didn't Richard take the Terror of Mount Velus + Karthus? Would've both had haste and double strike for 24 damage.
I think Tiamat would've made more sense as Richard's commander. That lets him fetch several of the dragons in the deck. There are 15+ Dragons in the deck (not counting Tiamat), so it would've been a valuable tool for refilling his hand. I think Morophon is lackluster in terms of synergy with the deck itself.
Tiamat makes you a huge target, unlike Morophon (at CMC 7, Morophon's cost reduction is pretty fair-Magic :P ). I imagine that's part of the reason - if not, then Tiamat would indeed be a *far* better commander.
I don't understand why Richard doesn't Tooth and Nail to put Angel of the Ruins into play
is this it, is this finally the fabled tomer and crim team up game? while tomer is playing a green deck no less??
It's odd that despite her being one of the first legendaries I ever pulled from a pack, Asmira, Holy Avenger is not something I never even considered a possible commander.
as far as the Monarch question after Tomer left, AFAIR, if the player holding Monarch concedes, the active player [or next active player if it they concede on their own turn] gains the Monarch
This might be the first time I've ever seen a fair Enduring Renewal played. Usually it's a infinite combo of some sorts.
I still for the life of me can't figure out where to submit decks for viewer submitted decks.
Keep an eye on the channel's Community posts - that's where I found the announcement to submit mine.
This has truly been one of the games of all time.
Game was so long I think this might the be first concession I've seen happen for this reason
Green-White Aristocrats is something weird and cool I would love to build one day.
I applaud your choice of Gnostro!
So you know Richard, you were correct about strip mine and star of extinction. If ALL targets in a spell are not there, the spell fizzles. Its why a lot of newer spells that do things that target and draw cards say target player. So if someone had strip mine'd your land, the only target of the spell would have been gone and the whole thing fizzles
@@winssports4830 Serparate effects doesn't matter. 608.2b If all a spell's targets, for each instance of the word target, are now illegal, the spell doesn't resolve and is put in it's owner's graveyard.
Rolling is such a treasure!
Is that a spider running across seth's webcame at 11:35?
Btw.. when your an adult.. socks and underclothes of all types become exciting
Here just excited for the long video
So what is/was that Subway sub? I've been looking for a new sandwich option.
chicken, cheese, marinara sauce from the meatballs, and i want to say pepperoni for the subway version but might be misremembering, typically toasted
Chicken Pizzaiola. They don't officially make it anymore, but they'll whip one up if you ask. It's chicken breast, cheese, marinara sauce and peperoni, toasted.
17:38 and 20:02 had me laughing way too hard
2:39:30 Richard checking if Seth will take damage from his own manabase and get to 10 hp somehow xD
That or of for some wierd reason seth's ladns were artifacts
its funny how seths deck seems built entirely around abusing land tax and he gets it early in the game and starts out dismissing it lol
man rites of replications is a hell of a card
Which program are the guys using to play this online?
Magic Online. You can find out more or download it at www.mtgo.com
I just watched a 3 hour video of jank brews... Movies that have thousands of hours put into them to make them more enjoyable, no regret
Oh god i just looked at the game length
Holy shit it was the Skullclamp.
1:46:25 for some good richard sounds
I text a buddy the other day to let him know I had Ascended to a higher plain of Aldulthood, I was smoking wings and watch MLB highlights, I don't even like baseball lol.
I 100% agree with Tomer on double sided cards, they are just a huge pain in the butt.
Most insane land tax ever
The one guy who plays Urza's saga in my group always gets Ring or Crypt
Okay I must be missing something, why is Richard not casting Tooth and Nail? He’s got the mana to Entwine it and everything.
I was wondering the same thing, but I think it's just his style not to make huge game winning moves unless he needs to or is sure they'll actually win
His style is never cast anything decent, never stop talking. Goad his employees into attacking each other and then three hours later play his spells
Makes for great content
Must be some real jank if the episode is 3 hrs lol
Tomer’s haircut is 40 USD?! That’s quite a lot for hair of his length and style
CAD
@@MTGGoldfishCommander 55 CAD = 40.47 USD according to Google. Your hair looks good, Tomer, but I don't know if you should be spending that much for a haircut. Is that pretty standard in Canada? Because it is double the price of a standard men's hair cut in the US.
Actually, having done a bit of research, it looks like I was wrong. Prices have gone up a lot since I last went to a barber's. Sometimes it pays to not have any hair.
Why doesn't Crim shuffle his deck with the Arid Mesa?
20:13 someone PLEASE tell richard about combat thresher
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" the crowd gets involved... AGAIN! Will Tomer's reserved list powers destroy everyone or will Seth just roll on thru with the weirdest jank that gets given to him? Tune-in to find out!
Richard could have won with avenger+hoof for like 4 turns straight
One of those isn't a dragon and the other isn't 8 mana...
@@michaelwallace4760 its a concept. Atarka (all dragons have doublestrike + karthas etc)
Moisture is back on the menu
casual commander decks that don’t have a plan to win cause 3 hour games 😂
this is why i’m all for infinite combos
Shout out to Niuttuc for nerves of steel
Thunder Dragon spent over 5 minutes on the stack 😂
This game convinced me to buy Land Tax 😅
ThE vAlUe!
DEATH BY FEET PICS
I believe the correct response from Tomer (or so called 'Dr. Anime') is to say that a Chimera is when you mix a dog and a girl together...
1:48:00 Strip mining crucible would have fizzled star of extinction. Star of extinction has only one target (the land) so if that target is removed it won't resolve.
@winssports4830 please learn the rules before correcting people who are actually right. From 608.2b: "If all its targets, for every instance of the word “target,” are now illegal, the spell or ability doesn’t resolve."
Holy clash cards new deck game and turn-based game play steam
i am so moisturized
Richard’s ability to cast Tooth and Nail with entwine and then never doing it is driving me insane. If he loses without casting it, I will lose faith in the game. Old Gnawbone would’ve given Richard the game because the treasure would be enough to hard cast the Fury of the Horde, with an extra attack that could’ve won, or at least put himself in a much better position.
oh my god richard just cast tooth and nail, what are you slow-rolling for
I really hate timeout losses
Why not take the terror of mount velus and win?
Richard not casting a spell until turn 7 and encouraging everyone to attack each other in the mean time lol
As much as the timeout is a valid way to lose, I think it's fair to call it Seth's win by him declaring "I have X amount of lands, I can reduce you both to 0 life. Do you have the interaction to stop me?" Still a cool win and great game, just sucks to see timeout loss right before the win.
Y'all should do a Sheldon week, in honor of the late Sheldon Menery. Just each pick one of his decks, from the vast supply.
Karthus and atarka would have killed zeth!
Y’all need to do yourselves the favor of yielding to specific triggers. Even Richard complains about a renewing trigger but still doesn’t yield to it. It’s becoming cringe, do it for yourselves not just the audience
i've deck even cooler than those. also budget. Can I send them to you?
The slowest 3 hour game ever lol. Downside to viewer decks is there's so much durdle and removal that it drags things on forever. Don't get me wrong I like a good long game but wow did nothing much happen for most of this with what little did getting stopped by removal.
Could of took the double strike dragon and won
every one forgets about the Jewel. Richard Still had that win.
