Thank you so much , it’s a bit embarrassing but I used to work for Direct TV so I used to be able to program the remote to TVs in my sleep but I forgot the methods after years out of the business. I’ve been able to program remotes to my TV for volume and power but I could never get the Imput button to work (I regularly switch between modes) thank you for reminding me of the 960 code 😁👊🏻

What if the remote is different from the you have on your video is it still set up the same way
@@mariebeshon4646 Depends how different. If it's an RC73 I believe that one is setup through the menu in the receiver box.

how do you get the code for the type of tv you have? We have a genie remote that we got replaced by a directv universal but I dont know how to stop the old one and program the new universal
Should be pretty straight forward.. either by the paperwork that it came with or by googling the code for Directv remote..

Need help finding Vizio tv codes for DirecTV...didn't see it on the list. I may have overlooked it, don't think so but I'll check again.
HI, you should be able to google the codes for the DirecTv remote... I think this is an RC66 remote if I remember right.. Vizio is a popular brand, I'd be surprised if there were no codes for it.
I spent an hour trying to program my dang remote with all those codes and it didn't work. You know why? Because not the direct tv website or the dang genie instructions told you to switch the friggin remote to the tv mode. I'm so pissed. Thanks for this video. It worked right away once i switched the remote toggle switch to tv like you said. I should know to go straight to youtube.

Can you comment on programming to use a Bose cinemate series 1? I just need it to turn on
HI, I'm not to familiar with that particular model. I do know that some Bose systems can be controlled via an IR remote and some use an RF remote. I have ones that use both. If your system is using an RF style remote it's not going to work without the factory remote, or an equivalent. It may be possible that your Bose system can work through HDMI-CEC and be controlled through IR using TV commands.
Just got a new remote from Directv to replace an old one that went bad. Same model. The last DirecTV remote was programmed by the person who set up our system. I'm having issues syncing my remote to work the volume on my Integra receiver. Plus it won't turn the tv on and off like my last one did. It would be great to be able to program this remote to work the volume so we only have to use one remote. Do you have the code for an Integra receiver, DTR-58?
HI, the codes aren't setup by the model number, just the brand name. Here's a link to the manual including the codes toward the back. www.att.com/ecms/dam/att/consumer/support/landingpage/userguides/directv/pdf/Grey-Universal-Remote-Control-Users-Guide.pdf. There should be some instruction on how to setup the audio receiver too, so maybe you can see what you did wrong.
Thank you for this video. I had been trying to find a way to control my stereo after losing the remote in a move. Is there a way to have it control the switching from radio to tape or CD? I've figured out how to change radio stations.
I don't see an input button for the AV1 or 2.. Have you tried pushing all the buttons to see if one will affect the Audio input?
How do I set the remote so I can. Access the menu? I bought a tv and I can't program the channels so it's pretty much only good for watching movies on dvd
If You’re in TV mode and you push menu, but it only brings up satellite menu... then it probably won’t control the tv menu.... I don’t believe this one can learn from the original remote.... if u have the original remote or you can use a different universal remote for accessing menu when needed if u don’t have original

Good info as far as it goes, but didn't solve my problem, which is that I can get the TV to turn on/off and Source works, but the DirecTV remote will not control rgw DirecTV box (no Menu or Guide or ability to change channels).
is there a remote address that has to be setup?
