I watch your videos as I'm doing my 280TE wagon. First project car and really love the videos and easy to follow content!
Awesome I'm so glad the videos are helpful.
Awesome video really! Very nice detailed, excellent camerawork there. Plus very sympathethic presentation. 👍 🤙
Thank you very much!
Perfect work!
Thank you I strive for perfection ;)
Excellent video John! The upcoming dash video will be a great help with my '84 300 CD dash replacement. ( A thousand thanks for the heads up on the blue dash)
Yeah I'm looking forward to the dash video this is the first video I will make on that.
Awesome video John! Can’t wait to see the next video on pulling off the dash~My W123’s center vent pod failed, so I am only getting limited air blowing out. I want to DIY service the pod but is afraid to pull off A-pillars (since people said it’s possible to break something when removing it). Anyway, as always, thanks for recording fantastic videos!

Hey Henry just make sure you subscribe to the channel if you're not already so you're notified when I post the dash video.
@@woodsandbarclay Of course I subscribed to this awesome channel a long time ago! Although I only own a W123, I still watched all of your videos and learn a lot from them. Thanks John!

@@henrychang7918 hahaha thank you Henry!
Great video. My husband was watching (very impressed) but noticed at the end what appears to be a silver CL on the lift? He’s also going to subscribe, but wants to know what the story on that one is?! Spoken for!?
That's a 1985 300CD (2 door coupe) with 68,000 miles on it. It'll be finished up in the next couple of weeks and post it on the website I haven't released any videos on it yet. It's extremely nice.
its way easier to take out the dash when the windshield is out, you dont have to bend the edges.
Oh it's not that bad. Yeah sure absolutely right it's easier with the windshield out but it's not too tough of a job with the windshield in.
Great video John! I didn’t realize that the TD’s had the SLS suspension, but I’m guessing that was done because of potential cargo being put in the back. What kind of service/maintenance needs does the SLS have?
Basically the only service is replacing the accumulators like I do in this video and making sure the hydraulic fluid is fresh I think it should be done every 50,000 miles or so. However they're often neglected much longer than that in the car still operate fine.
So are the accumulators and shocks still readily available?
The rear hydraulic shocks are not but they are rebuildable by a hydraulic shop. Accumulators are still available for sale though because those are a wear item that needs replacing probably every 50,000 miles or so. There are also several people that rebuild the hydraulic shocks if you need it done.

I don't have a wagon yet but I'm considering one. I had a 1983 123 and a 1983 126. Once the dust settles on some family matters, I'll be in contact with you 😎
