Dude!! You took me back 30 years. I had a friend that I helped build a Boss 302, single plan, solid lifter. I love the Cleveland in all it's forms. It is amazing how much it sounds like that Boss 302. Thank you. Pssst. My first car was 1970 Cougar, 351C Thanks again.
Dave with a fire axe standing on a hill of skulls The Cleveland has heads with huge valves compared to the Windsor making the engine super efficient. The boss 302 is a 302 block using the Cleveland heads and that's what makes it a legend.
Tuff as brother I'm doing up an Aussie 351 Cleveland for my Fairlane and man this is just a sweet sensation music of the gods infact hope mine can sound as awesome as this mate great machine 👌👌👌
@bravo0297 Uh that spoiler was very common on Mustangs and Cougars back then and in fact optional on them from Ford/Mercury. It was the ricers who copied it.
I had a custom roller ground for my 408 Cougar and lift is in the 640's with a little less duration and I don't have those huge Cleveland ports to fill.
@bravo0297 Ricer? Do you even know what kind of car I own without looking at my other videos? That is a factory installed spoiler that came on the car in 1970, nothing ricer about it.
@@kevindkarle No Factory Cleveland came with 350 hp, the closest would be the Boss 351 rated at 330 hp i know Clevelands, raced them for Years. 2V were rated at 250 hp and 4V were rated at 300 hp

Amen. I get the ricer comments on my 71 Mach 1 with wing and am sick of it. Many of the musclecar era cars had wings as options in late 60's and early 70's. Nothing ricer about it. I think mostly it comes from idiot Chevy guys.

I would have to dig up the cam specs. I will tell you that it is a solid roller, and requires lots of maintenance. Also, you have to run high quality parts, it is destructive because you have to run 650# valve springs

Patrick Farmer so.
.for those of us that don't know engines..what make this better than a Windsor? Or other big engines?

The Windsor only needs a thousand or two dollars spent on aftermarket heads to breathe.

Nah it wasn't common on the 69 and 70 cougars had to be a eliminator I have owned my 69 for almost 30 years now
Sounds badass dude, you might dig the video of my 1969 coronet with a 440 running on open headers and a voodoo cam.:)
That's the sound of freedom! Murica F'Yeah
thats the sound of heaven
Lift numbers with a Cleveland are usually a lot bigger then other engines, they can't be directly compared to other configurations.

What kind of lifters did you use and did you do anything to the lifter bores?
What are you running for Setup? Carbureted or EFI? Cam duration and so on?
no sane builder would run efi on a Cleveland they like being slightly overcarbed
+tyler acevedo So I have read and seen, but I have also seen some with efi setups on them and they run pretty sweet
Oh of course if u want sheer reliability Therese no contest with efi.
