I honestly believe the reason high end brands price so much is because they paid for the package and it was expensive, the product itself can still be great quality but to make the product was not or just as expensive as the packaging, that’s why I love simple packaging and not to judge a product based on it :)

You have a tendency to sit at a slight angle during your video. So it isn’t as easy to really get a good look at both sides of your face. It would have been nice if you just turned your seat for us to get an equal view of both sides of your face.
That being said, as always I enjoyed your video.

I'm glad you mentioned that the Tatcha balls up because I thought I was losing my mind. I was like WTF? 😳😳 I'm like I know I exfoliate my dry patches and dead skin so that doesn't happen so why Tatcha??? 😩 LOL 😂 On the other hand I've heard that the Elf primer is quite greasy in every review I've seen. So I'm thinking that the Elf is probably not a dupe but worth the investment for MY dry skin. It would definitely be worth using after moisturizing and I'd probably like it all over and the Tatcha in my T-Zone wear my skin is more normal. I'm gonna go try it and see what I think. Don't talk about the Sahara Desert though. It's thirsty over here. 🏜🏜🐫🐪🌵 Great review as always. Staying far far away from the concealer.
JoAnna Johnson sometimes my tatcha balls and I think it just depends on the moisturizer that ive used.
Sablo Stout I tend to use the same moisturizers and the same beauty routine in general. I think it depends on how soon I use the Tatcha after moisturizing because sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I have incredibly dry skin though and it only does it in my drier areas where I try not to put it anyway.

This happened to me as well! I have experimented with different moisturizers. Bioderma sebium mat control,elemis pro collagen marine cream, and tatcha water cream work perfectly with the tatcha primer. I tried using it with loreal hydra gel and it balled up like crazy(maybe bc the 3rd ingredient is alcohol). But the key i think is not to use this primer with too many oils prior to your choice of moisturizer.

Idk... but I can clearly see the tatcha side making your skin look so much smoother on the under eye and mouth area. You can’t see your deepset under eyes on the tatcha side but the elf side your under eye lines looked so strong and not blurred.. even the smile lines on the elf side looked less plump and more sunken. Basically what I’m trying to say is the tatcha side made your skin plump looking
My undereye bag was already deeper on the elf side before I put anything on . Throw in a concealer that wasn’t exactly that good and there’s only so much the primer will do lol I still felt they did the same things maybe not to the same extent but at least ppl will have an option for something close.

Elf is about 80% of my entire make up collection. Lol they have my favorite mascara which I mention is only a freaking dollar. It’s lasts all day and doesn’t run which I appreciate because these allergies are always trying to mess me up . Lol I’m always crying

So glad you reviewed this! I got the elf primer a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying it. It definitely doesn’t keep me matte, but I tend to use a matte foundation and powder. I haven’t tried the tatcha primer, but I’m fine not knowing what I’m missing lol ❤️💋

I have just gotten into buying elf products and love what I have so far. I’m still trying to find the perfect primer down there skin. I have been eyeing the primer and now will try it. I did finally buy the concealer and yes ma’am... SHE DRY and she’s dries down FAST!! I put it on thinking I could do something else and nope. It was set. Luckily I wasn’t going anywhere that day. I tried it again when I was going somewhere and put it under my foundation. It looked so much better. I blended lightly and it does the job for me.
I hated the elf concealer for my under eyes but it’s a perfect match for me to spot conceal and it literally doesn’t move despite my usually super oily skin. I also found it to be higher coverage using it as a spot concealer
Hey Girl! Thank you for this. I was looking to buy the mini version for $23 just to see if its worth it. The elf was oily (like everyone said), but ELF really did that though. They've BEEN stepping it up. Now if they could just get shades right. But overall, I think I might try the tatcha cus my oils could moisturize my body the way they be acting up as soon as I leave the house!
OK so honestly I've tried both primers and purposely did not watch which side you put the primers on and skipped to the end. I knew immediately which side was elf and which was tatcha. The elf primer is not bad but it's not a true dupe, it is a good primer and keeps the face more matte unless you're oily then it breaks right through, the skin care in tatcha gives more moisturizing. Your face with the tatcha looks much smoother and perfected where as the elf side looks oily and more textured. I think if people have drier skin or combo dry and moisturize really well first or it's summer then elf isn't bad but if you're oily, combo oily, have patches of super dry skin, or need moisturizer properties, go with tatcha. I think they are good primers but definitely there's a big difference compared side by side. I prefer tatcha but I wear elf with more dewy foundations and tatcha with more matte
If someone can splurge on the Tatcha I say mazel tov but I just didn't see a $44 difference worth of oil or texture on the E.L.F. side. I'd call it a very close dupe.

I have both ... the elf primer is okay it moisturire your skin but a little greasy... but the tatcha OMG make my face baby smooth and keep me matte and healthy looking skin 😍😍😍everybody complimented my skin

E.l.f has a good primer that I love already which is the Mineral Infused face primer. I think I'll definitely give this Putty Primer a shot.

The Elf side did look shinier but its $8 and it held up really good against the Tatcha so i think its for sure a dupe. I need that concealer i have oily skin so this could be an affordable not doing too much option

I was so glad that I bought the Tatcha Primer in the travel size because... That primer just greys me out like no tomorrow. I used it again yesterday and it did that "ball up" effect that I feel like no primer for over $25 should be doing. Granted there may be some ingredients that may be costly in the primer but to be honest I don't see it being that big of a deal if I have to make sure that I apply my primer in a specific way.

I'm definitely going to get me that elf primer 😂 but I have oily skin so I'll most likely have to mix it with a matte primer. Initial thought was that the elf side was more oily but I think it just looks that way cuz of the angle of your head....it wasn't centered. I'll probably get the concealer as well just because 🙄 cuz I have dry under eyes too.
"Wear it for a week" needs to be a part of this channel. This will address mixed first impressions, confirming any issues and if a product will break you out.
Even the tatcha mini is less product than the elf one and is a WHOLE $20. So glad you reviewed this cause I’ve been had this elf primer at the top of my list. Running to elf now though 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 tatcha can take that $52 primer & shove it where the sun don’t shine 🤷🏻♀️😂

I love elf for how affordable their makeup is but I def do NOT use it for my concealor and foundation but that's cause of my combo to oily skin. But i definitely be checking out its primer cuz my art school is expensive

honestly the Tatcha side looks a bit smoother and more matte than the Elf side. Fortunately you have young skin so you can wear either of these primers easily. For my mature skin I like and need a product that has skin care properties Great video...TFS

I have 2 of those new e.l.f. concealers to try but I’m making myself wait until I’m caught up on my uploads.
I’m excited to get some of the Fenty powders at some point but I’m cheap. The amount for price is EXCELLENT (4x more than lots of other brands) but the price point for Ben Nye is still better. If I end up finding Fenty has a better color match for me with their powder though I’ll be sold!
If u haven't tried it yet u should try the tarte smoothing primer in the jar I have a bit of combination skin and it keeps my oily parts in check, but I am low key dying to try the tatcha primer, I'll drop hints for V day 😉😉

Tatcha side looks a bit more smoother. But I'm not complaining I bought the tatcha primer last year because of all the hype I liked it but I didnt love it.. I think I'll Be trying the E.L.F primer tho

I just did a side by side of both, and I didn’t notice a difference at all. Tatcha can pill a little bit, but other than that, I felt my pores were much less visible, everything looked really smooth (even over some healing pimples because my skin thinks it’s 14, not 36...) and 8 hours later, everything still looked great. Only thing is...I had treated myself to Tatcha for my bday, therefore I had spent that 52$ before I knew Elf had their product out.
