    So excited that you guys use Evan's Waterless Coolant! They make a great product and they are genuinely good people. I've used Evan's in my '68 Camaro drag car for two seasons and I couldn't be happier.

    if you are struggling with the water clutch metod you can fill it with grease, dont think you need teflon tape. more cleaning tough... :)

    That's the thing, - it's a waterless coolant, i see what you mean about a 50/50 coolant though - a pressurized system allows the boiling point to be higher - and that is why a water based system works. Evans boils - but not till 375 or so.

  • @Aspired329
    @Aspired329 11 років тому

    I'd suggest a forum for questions not about his build. Lots more people there to help and much more oriented towards questions. This is one guy and he is busy but it's still starving for fuel if you have to choke it your cutting the air which richens the air to fuel mixture and keeps it running. I'd say something is still dirty in the car(s) or also could just be old crappy gas. New gas, reclean carbs, verify fuel pump operation.

  • @NVMDSTEvil
    @NVMDSTEvil 11 років тому

    I dont see any comments on this, but in your video you mention "no pressure is a good thing" with regard to the evan's waterless coolant. To be truthful the pressure in the system helps thermal transfer and increases the boil temperature of the coolant. If the waterless coolant is working fine for you then its no biggie, but lack of pressure for a water based coolant can be detrimental to its performance. Nice videos btw :)

    GREAT SHOW!! Especially for guys like me who are new to sleds... I`d like to ditch the oil injection system too. Not so much for weight (I just have trust issues) but what do you do about oil to the crank bearings?

    I also have some questions I hope you could answer, the first is what grease you would use for the crankshaft in the 800 engine, also if you have a project thread or similar for the dark green Rev that stands in the background? // Summit Rev 800 Owner! ;)

    Hey i have an 05 mxz 500ss i was wondering if i put a clutch kit on and maybe changed the gearing how much it would cost i would probly do it through my dealer a ruff estimate would be good and with the clutch kit i would like to be able to do wheelies

  • @mattwiederhoeft7273
    @mattwiederhoeft7273 8 років тому

    Did paint the sled black yourself or did someone else do it for you?

  • @PowerModzOfficial
    @PowerModzOfficial  11 років тому

    Contact Joey at Ibackshift and tell him i sent you - the dealers wont be able to clutch your sled. gearing wont cost much - buy used gears and chain on ebay - ask around to see what people are using on the forums. the 500 wont be an animal but its a good sled.

I have a 1971 ski whiz 400sst with a 340cc six bolt jlo with a tillotson carb and when I leave it idle it pulses and shuts off and I need to use the choke to get it going again. the needles are set perfectly, I just put a full rebuild in the carb and fuel pump, and there is brand new filters and lines from front to back. I can't find the problem, can you help? PLEASE?

    Hey. I was looking at my 2003 rev 800 and i notices that my shock shaft was bent on the left side. and also on the ride side the shock is touching the back of the a arm. The skis are pretty much even, i dont think one is farther back that the other. I measured them and they were only off by 1/2 inch. But the right ski is also toad in a little. I looked at all my a arm mounts and they all looked straight. And the nun looked like it was good to. Do you have any idias why its like that? thanks btw were can i get your new oil? PowerModz

    • @PowerModzOfficial

  • @TheGaliath360
    @TheGaliath360 9 років тому

    this is great, I love these videos, but you could have saved yourself 6+ hours of work and a hassle with all the old parts if you just bought yourself a used chassis. Why not just buy a previously parted out sled with barely anything in it? You did end up just taking everything out of the sled.

    • @PowerModzOfficial

      Why spend more money! And it's a good learning experience - no ownership changing - paying taxes etc etc.
