Thanks for shooting these videos!!!! I check you channel every night hoping for a new one. I love tearing apart sleds and modding them out. Keep up the great work
So excited that you guys use Evan's Waterless Coolant! They make a great product and they are genuinely good people. I've used Evan's in my '68 Camaro drag car for two seasons and I couldn't be happier.
think this summer im going to try to build one..u have gave me many ideas...great videos i watch everyday....keep them going...cant wait to see what u do with that motor.Kaelba might be in the back finally...haha..happy sledding
That's the thing, - it's a waterless coolant, i see what you mean about a 50/50 coolant though - a pressurized system allows the boiling point to be higher - and that is why a water based system works. Evans boils - but not till 375 or so.
I'd suggest a forum for questions not about his build. Lots more people there to help and much more oriented towards questions. This is one guy and he is busy but it's still starving for fuel if you have to choke it your cutting the air which richens the air to fuel mixture and keeps it running. I'd say something is still dirty in the car(s) or also could just be old crappy gas. New gas, reclean carbs, verify fuel pump operation.
I dont see any comments on this, but in your video you mention "no pressure is a good thing" with regard to the evan's waterless coolant. To be truthful the pressure in the system helps thermal transfer and increases the boil temperature of the coolant. If the waterless coolant is working fine for you then its no biggie, but lack of pressure for a water based coolant can be detrimental to its performance. Nice videos btw :)
GREAT SHOW!! Especially for guys like me who are new to sleds... I`d like to ditch the oil injection system too. Not so much for weight (I just have trust issues) but what do you do about oil to the crank bearings?
Very nice man, im following this project from now on! I also have some questions I hope you could answer, the first is what grease you would use for the crankshaft in the 800 engine, also if you have a project thread or similar for the dark green Rev that stands in the background? // Summit Rev 800 Owner! ;)
Would really like to know what after market shocks fit on the sc- skids I tried some fox floats and that’s no good! Lou any options for shocks or straight swapping the skid? Perhaps Polaris 136 dragon? Thanks!
Hey i have an 05 mxz 500ss i was wondering if i put a clutch kit on and maybe changed the gearing how much it would cost i would probly do it through my dealer a ruff estimate would be good and with the clutch kit i would like to be able to do wheelies
Contact Joey at Ibackshift and tell him i sent you - the dealers wont be able to clutch your sled. gearing wont cost much - buy used gears and chain on ebay - ask around to see what people are using on the forums. the 500 wont be an animal but its a good sled.
hey ishobie i have a 2004 polaris switchback 800 and is over heating the sled works fine when in powder but when on a trail at 4500 rpms it boggs out ... So what do you think is going one
hey man, I need some help. I have a 1971 ski whiz 400sst with a 340cc six bolt jlo with a tillotson carb and when I leave it idle it pulses and shuts off and I need to use the choke to get it going again. the needles are set perfectly, I just put a full rebuild in the carb and fuel pump, and there is brand new filters and lines from front to back. I can't find the problem, can you help? PLEASE?
Hey man i have a 06 rev 800 i swapped a 02 800 in it and changed my head over for knock sensor but i still have an engine light cause i rave valves dont have hoses anymore or the hose to the crank to the solinod any help would be nice?
Hey. I was looking at my 2003 rev 800 and i notices that my shock shaft was bent on the left side. and also on the ride side the shock is touching the back of the a arm. The skis are pretty much even, i dont think one is farther back that the other. I measured them and they were only off by 1/2 inch. But the right ski is also toad in a little. I looked at all my a arm mounts and they all looked straight. And the nun looked like it was good to. Do you have any idias why its like that? thanks btw were can i get your new oil? PowerModz
PowerModz Damn is it bad to run it like that? idk if i will even notice it. But I am in New hampshire so im like just under 5 hours away im pretty sure.
PowerModz okay thanks for replying. im probably gunna just run it and see how things go. hopefully its fine. im pretty sure its not bent that bad. but thanks again.
hello my name is jorge I'm a a rookie in the matter of sleds But I don´t know pretty much nothing about the mecanics or how keep up for my sled... and where I am from we don´t have to much culture so I don´t have anybody to ask for advices, I am really enjoing this videos!
But I wanted to ask you is it posible to go there and get a few lessons and how much would it cost me? I live to you my email adress: georgemartinic@hotmail.com hope to hear from you!
this is great, I love these videos, but you could have saved yourself 6+ hours of work and a hassle with all the old parts if you just bought yourself a used chassis. Why not just buy a previously parted out sled with barely anything in it? You did end up just taking everything out of the sled.
PowerModz I agree! I love what you did with the sled. I hope one day I get the opportunity to have a small shop so I can do the same work. Thank you for posting these videos! Very informative and interesting.
Thanks for shooting these videos!!!! I check you channel every night hoping for a new one. I love tearing apart sleds and modding them out. Keep up the great work
this show should be on tv
i like the way you think!

Thanks for watching!
Great videos, very helpful and you throw in many pointers
Amazing series man
Best sled build videos on UA-cam hands down. Even the tear down vids are great, learning a lot!
So excited that you guys use Evan's Waterless Coolant! They make a great product and they are genuinely good people. I've used Evan's in my '68 Camaro drag car for two seasons and I couldn't be happier.

learn so much from these!
Nice work!
I've never seen that hydraulic method with the water. That was cool!
ive been waiting all day for this !!
Hey i like how your finally making your videos longer (: so much better then the 5 min ones keep up with the great videos and also the lengths of them
if you are struggling with the water clutch metod you can fill it with grease, dont think you need teflon tape. more cleaning tough... :)
2019 anyone?
Good idea!
Yup they do that.

They are going on the rev!

good job
@DDsleding it would be around $1,500 out the door losses the tension straps and that would help a lot also
and eventually ship world wide, i would definitely buy
I like how there is a kid in the background
Doing the best I can!
GREAT SHOW!! Especially for guys like me who are new to sleds... I`d like to ditch the oil injection system too. Not so much for weight (I just have trust issues) but what do you do about oil to the crank bearings?
i love the color of the modded rev in the background i like that greenish color, when will part 3 uploaded?
i blew a piston on my sled because of the reed cage holder good thing you fixed it before it happened to you.
Great job! I wish your boy in the background was right there with you watching and helping you, rather then on his iPad or whatever the device was.
He is now!
i used the clutch metod but with hydralic fluid insted..
Very nice man, im following this project from now on!

Hey Jimmy, check out the rest of the videos, i use a drip bottle.
If only i had the time!
for all i know my carbs been on there since 76
Alright thanks
use a heavy oil to pull the clutch. you won't need teflon tape
Would really like to know what after market shocks fit on the sc- skids I tried some fox floats and that’s no good! Lou any options for shocks or straight swapping the skid? Perhaps Polaris 136 dragon? Thanks!
I found a $2500 2003 ski doo mxz 800. Is it a good snowmobile or will it be crap
at 00:41 did anyone else notice the kid sittin there? hahaha
Once you get the clutch off how does it go back on??
Hey i have an 05 mxz 500ss i was wondering if i put a clutch kit on and maybe changed the gearing how much it would cost i would probly do it through my dealer a ruff estimate would be good and with the clutch kit i would like to be able to do wheelies
Did paint the sled black yourself or did someone else do it for you?
Contact Joey at Ibackshift and tell him i sent you - the dealers wont be able to clutch your sled. gearing wont cost much - buy used gears and chain on ebay - ask around to see what people are using on the forums. the 500 wont be an animal but its a good sled.
Happens often
hey ishobie i have a 2004 polaris switchback 800 and is over heating the sled works fine when in powder but when on a trail at 4500 rpms it boggs out ... So what do you think is going one
you dont need to change the fuel pumps just put on a new diaphragm and blow it out with the air compresses.
What year is it? I'm looking to get a rev 600 or tnt 600
What's wrong wit having oil injected sled? cause i have one and now im second guessing it; :P
where do you live in quebec cause theirs a quebec plack on their?
hey man, I need some help. you should mod an xcr 440
Too bad the zx didnt perform the way you wanted, this rev chassis with the all those mods will rip forsure!
No - different timing and comp settings.
what was the name on the webbsite you buoght the reinforcement? :D
You should have called this episode "Pounding the Nun" heheheh!!!
LOL, I like that!
Hey man i have a 06 rev 800 i swapped a 02 800 in it and changed my head over for knock sensor but i still have an engine light cause i rave valves dont have hoses anymore or the hose to the crank to the solinod any help would be nice?
hmm, is the engine light flashing?
Why is the 2x4 your favorite tool. 😂😂😂
Because it is a hammer - everything else is a nail
you can sell one of those sleds for a cat
2003
Thanks but then its a job and theres no fun in that!
tonight - late!
hello I have a 700 for parts ?
Nono - not that much.

PowerModz Damn is it bad to run it like that? idk if i will even notice it. But I am in New hampshire so im like just under 5 hours away im pretty sure.
ya itlll bend really easy now - and you'll bend a shock shaft.
PowerModz okay thanks for replying. im probably gunna just run it and see how things go. hopefully its fine. im pretty sure its not bent that bad. but thanks again.
I spend more time looking for stuff I supposedly put away.

hope to hear from you!
look for snowmobile forums,, the guys on them are very help full with brand specific info (
Because I can't buy every type of snowmobile, I am not made of money:)
Well, when you have 1000 hours and $7000 in parts into a 10 year old sled that's hard to sell to anyone that's even kinda smart.
lol, camera kid!
this is great, I love these videos, but you could have saved yourself 6+ hours of work and a hassle with all the old parts if you just bought yourself a used chassis. Why not just buy a previously parted out sled with barely anything in it? You did end up just taking everything out of the sled.
Why spend more money! And it's a good learning experience - no ownership changing - paying taxes etc etc.
PowerModz I agree! I love what you did with the sled. I hope one day I get the opportunity to have a small shop so I can do the same work. Thank you for posting these videos! Very informative and interesting.
You need to quit your job and just start building sleds for people around town.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
