- I took the 800 out of the rev, removed the stator and pickups, did the same for the non rer 700, and then installed the 800 stator and pickups in the 700, now i just have to plug the 700 in the rev wiring harness and all set with RER!

Love rewatching these videos. I am a transplant to the great white north and before I bought my sled I watched all these videos trying to pick up some info on sleds. Glad to see how far you guys have came!

I was wondering if you were going to damage your stator during removal like I did when I pulled mine off on my 2004 800 HO a few years back. My engine blew up back then. $350.00 U.S. dollars for that part! I'll remember to be more careful next time for sure! Keep the videos coming! I really enjoy watching them.

You are my favorite skidoo video guy to watch when I'm trying to learn. I need to replace the trigger coils on my 800r xp renegade 2008. What was the blue stuff you used between the coils and case? Is it like a silicone or what? I need to know because I only want to do this one time lol. Thanks for the educational videos 👍

don;t feel bad about the stator. I did the exact same thing on my friends MXZ 600.
Just a few comments, always oil the puller threads, also an impact on the puller usually damages the threads. Thanks for the vids. When tapping in aluminum you should use some tap magic (brand) or kerosene to aid in threading. What was the blue goo?
hmm, not sure, but a carb issues can - have you cleaned them?

OK..... I have a question regarding using the Electronic Reverse (of which I have on several machines)!
I realize that RER is used for a short duration only!
While the Engine is producing power in the opposite direction, what are the negative affects of both the coolant circulating pump and the oil injection pump operating in the reverse direction?
I would think that the coolant circulating pump would not undergo any issues.
However, I am curious as to whether or not there is a risk of the oil pump pulling air/fuel back into itself?
what about the oil pump? i know on the older poos when you put electronic reverse you need to swap pumps that are bi-directional. not sure on the doos tho
Great video, as always. I jus picked up a 2006 mxz 600 rev. The price was right @$2000, but i never even heard it run, because the key was missing. Im a pretty handy guy. Ive rebuilt plenty of 2 strokes in my day, but were mainly old 90's era dirtbikes. My question is can i bypass the key switch on this sled? Im not even sure yet if its gt electric start...i havent even cracked the hood yet to visually look at the engine..jus to verify it had one. It was missing one button above the big blue one on left handle.(button is there but no cap) is this a RER button? Also why would it have a old school bomb tether cord? Dont they all use dess? Thanks a million for your videos and keep em coming. Guys like me are depending on ya.
I believe if you pull the points off the key switch it should start without the key, but not sure with a newer sled if it will work
i cleaned carbs, put new cdi box, cleand fuel pump, checked all oil lines to make sure they are not pluged checked fuel line in gas tank to make sure the the lines is still on bottomdone losts of stuff and im stumped
Hey! My skidoo rev 600 h.o -03 wont give any spark, i have replaced the stator! It did just die when i was driving, it did backfire and loose all power just before! Do you think its the pickup? Thx for help man!:)
I enjoy your video I lost my stater and flywheel on my sportsman 500 my new flywheel cost me 350.00 $ is there any way to buy just the magnet for the flywheel . I sure would like to know thank George
nice I have a 2003 mxz renegade that I'm trying to put a 700 summit engine in and the 600 stator will not bolt in cuz were the center hole is too big and the bolt holes don't line up it used to have a 600 ho any ideas wat would work so I can just plug it in my existing wireing harness any help would be grate full thanks love your videos keep up the good work
how often do you post a video off when you are screwing on the rev 800? are it like you publish a video every day or when you got time?
I have a leak out of the crank i believe. ordered full seal kit for my 500...do you need to take out the whole engine or can you replace the o ring and seal behind the stator from that way?

could a bad stator make your sled backfire?
I'm guessing that blue stuff was injector oil.
2017 Summit 600 carb, new stator & pick ups all put back together, pull pull pull pull-no spark, pull-get spark pull-get spark, pull pull no spark so on. sled fires up when it does get spark. What could be going on???

I have a 2001 mxz 700 with electric start battery went dead so I had to pull start sled got sled running and while going down the trail I heard my recoil burst apart I hit a few bumps and heard a bunch of grinding and so forth I then take recoil off and all peices of the recoil were lodged in area of stator including medal peices of recoil I removed what I could now I have a power loss big time could I have screwed up the stator blowing that recoil apart and or damaged the stator and could that cause my power loss of motor none of this happened until that recoil burst apart inside there please help its not power loss all the time either and its more towards half throttle

Yes you probably could I have seen S chassis skidoo’s with ReR I shit my pants when I saw it

i had to remove the stator and the pickups due to a dealer fuck up where a screw fell out and ripped apart the pickup coil
I put it all back together and then the flywheel cut my wires on my stator
so how the heck do you place those wires ?
is the rubber gromet have to be installed from outside in ? of so how do you do that with the motor in the sled

can you believe i went to look at a snowmobile with a friends girlfriend. just to be the one to look it over,make sure no damage,twists,bends in frame, u know all the things ya wanna look for when paying $2500 for a 2003 mxz 800 sport. after spending a bit looking everything over we started it up and drove it around front to the trailer i brought ... it wasn't until the next day we went to unload the sled from trailer.. and whoa . how did i not notice this??? no electric start? ok well lets see if she can pull it over.. nope shes got bad shoulders. can not pull the motor over to start it..so i jump up and start it first pull.. ok not so bad. push button for reverse ... whoa??? no reverse .. uh ohh. this not good.i told her to re port the sled and once she sells it . just buy another and make sure its got both, but she really wants to add electric start and reverse to it rather then sell it.. how much cost and time on avg would be involved in this. primary clutch doesn't even have the flywheel. thinking maybe the last owner used this sled for racing. or just wanted to drop weight .. it sounds like its going to cost . and take some decent time to complete the project .
next time use never seize on the tip of your puller
No offense to this man....... after having see the issues during flywheel removal, I would strongly suggest:
a...... key removal followed by lapping the flywheel taper to the crankshaft taper. (clean well afterwards)
b...... using an Anti-Seize/Never-Seez compound on tapered shaft fitment.
This will make for a better fit and an easy removal next time.
