Very nice car and walkaround. Unfortunately you got an important fact wrong! Its not the 3.8 liter but the 3.6 liter engine you can find in the Black Edtion as this is a special version of the standard Carrera 997.2 (just look at the airintake cover at 6:15 ). The 3.8 Liter DFI engine of the 997.2 can be found in Carrera S and GTS models. - 2020/21 997.2 are going up in value especially manual shift as they are quite rare.
Porsche's technology is second to none, as is their engineering. The interiors have been nicely updated since this model (it was the last production variant of this model of 911). As for keyless entry is has a remote open, and that key goes in the ignition on the left of the steering wheel in honor of their racing heritage.
@PianoandCarcrack94 no its not a scratch its a see through cover like thing that prevents scratches from happinging you can fin them on the front of most new cars
Hey Kyle. Just wanted to start off by saying I LOVE your videos, I watch every one that you upload, but jut a suggestion, if you started adding the sticker price of the vehicles you're showing, it would be amazing :)
Hey Kyle ! You know what ? We call your videos "exercises" because we leave our homework till we finish your videos first :D btw, I'm a student in the university
it's not a scratch. it's 3M protective coating covering the rear wheel flares since they stick out further than the front wheels -- keeps crap from the road from dinging the paint.
@PianoandCarcrack94 no, on the regular carrera there's a plastic cover there lol. when i saw it in person at first i thought it was a scratch, but it wasnt.
cbr cruz Well it says the GT 2 RS is! It says it right there??? Every 911 ever made but the 2011 GT 2 RS is my all time favorite!!!!!!!! With 620 H.P and top speeds over 211 MPH...Yes Chris Harris shut the black 2011 GT 2 RS down at 211 MPH after passing that Ducatti! And I know for a fact that car tops out at just under 220 but it's scary as fuck that's why they put the grilles in the new GT 3 RS not for brake cooling which I read the other day in a dumb magazine. It's to keep the front end from lifting past 200 MPH! Can you imagine in the GT 2 RS just under 220 MPH that's no K&N's no chips nothing....YIKES!!!
@Cypern It is a 2012. The only 991 models Porsche produced for 2012 were the Carrera and Carrera S (along with their convertible variants) with the rest of the 2012 line up being the 997.
@saabkyle04 No he's right actually. Porsche has a 7-speed manual for the 911 for 2012. I don't follow Porsche's so I don't know if it's available yet, but I've heard about it. Google "Porsche 911 7 speed manual" and you'll see what he's talking about.
@Cypern Are you sure? I think you're thinking about the 2013 911 (codename 991), which is an "all new" design. This is a codename 997 Carrera from the looks of it, which means saabkyle got it right.
BTW kyle im curious, how is it a 2012 porsche ended up at a used car lot.? wondering if it was a demo? its VERY young mileage wise. or perhaps it was previously titled or something?
did anyone else notice that the entire time the engine was on, the engine oil temp stayed at 150F never moved. Yet, the engine cooling system temp went up
Why buy one of these (2012 911, 997.2 Blk Ed, 3.6L @345hp with torque @288 ft\lbs) when the base 2012 911 (991), Carrera @350hp and 325 lb\ft.? There appears to be quite a bit of confusion from the PORSCHE "official list of engine specifications and those reported here. It seems to me that Porsche should have waited until 2013 to offer the 991 configuration.
@kevin91203 its not a scratch. many sports cars that have a wider rear wheel well have these protective films on the rocker panels behind the doors to protect the paint from little stones and stuff that is hurled up by the front wheel. If you look very closely at around 16:27 you'll notice the same "scratch" like pattern on the other side as well. I am not trying to be a smart ass - just wanted to point that out.
@kevin91203 Not a scratch, it's some kind of protecting pad which runs from the wheel arch to the sill. It's the same on both sides. My 2008 Cayman has them too.
Great Channel enjoy all your videos on this video you mentioned there's two transmissions options for this car the 7 speed pdk with electronic clutch do you mean by that it comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel? Thank you for your time you have a good day.
@NewEra0G I was thinking the same, this car is already is to speed in. will just make it even easier to get a ticket. least if has a digital speedo too.
Hey Mr. Kyle you never did a in depth video on a 2011/12 Porsche (997) 911 GTS Coupe or Convertible. It would be nice to see one but in the way you do your reviews. Thanx.
I can see one kinda strange thing on all new cars, when Kyle opens the bonnet, it says on the engine "Direct Fuel Injection", but wait, it's 21st century, it's going to be obvious that cars don't use carburators anymore. But anyway, despite that, it's a great video, love the looks of this 911, and i don't care, if it has only over 300 horsepower, i just love that car, cheers!
You do the best auto reviews........no one comes close ...thank you very much !!!!!!!!
Wow, such a beautiful 911. So sleek and cool looking, and I always have loved the sound of that flat 6 in the back. Great vid as always Kyle!
Hello from 2016: glad to report these are depreciating and will make a great buy soon!
In my opinion the Porsche 911 is the greatest sports car of all time.
You've got that right. Porsche there is no substitute. The definitive sports car!
the 997.2 imo is probably the best looking 911 ever. it still looks current even when sitting next to the 991.
u would be absolutely right my friend!!!'
Very nice car and walkaround.

What a beautiful car! Great video as always Kyle!
IM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR
I am addicted to your review!
this makes my day even better
I learn so many adjectives from Kyle.
I'll be looking for one of these as a collector in about 10 years...What an absolute BOSS of a car
did you end up looking for it?
@@PaulTC97 No lol I'm still too poor. I'm resetting the 10 year timer on this. Stay tuned.
love that white acura tsx!Honda accord in europe.
I follow you everyday from zaragoza, spain.Nice job kyle!
Wow, you do a very good job showing us these cars, thank you.
This is a nice car, thanks Kyle.
I just love how sleek it is.
I Like all your videos
and this video is the best
beacouse i like porsche 911
Need to get my money up, would buy one of these in a second. Love that stealthy, understated look.
@PianoandCarcrack94 I think that's something which protects the paint when the wheels flick stones and debris up.
that black paint is crass!
just saw one today and thanks to you i knew all about it!
Porsche's technology is second to none, as is their engineering. The interiors have been nicely updated since this model (it was the last production variant of this model of 911). I just love the 911 logo
We have the number 337 here in İstanbul-Türkiye 🇹🇷
Flat 6 sounds amazing
For people not earning crazy money, the black edition is very good value (esp a CPO)
@Neskovac At 6:16, he put up an annotation saying that he meant a 3.6L flat 6 and not a 3.8L.
Wow... great review guys. Thanks
@PianoandCarcrack94 no its not a scratch its a see through cover like thing that prevents scratches from happinging you can fin them on the front of most new cars
@saabkyle04 nice review...am i the only one who thinks black leather looks a bit bland? usually tan or cream leather looks best i think.
It has nice 80s feeling to it, I like it.
Hey Kyle. Just wanted to start off by saying I LOVE your videos, I watch every one that you upload, but jut a suggestion, if you started adding the sticker price of the vehicles you're showing, it would be amazing :)

btw, I'm a student in the university
idk when you can get your hands on the 2012 bmw f10 m5 but whenever possible i would love to see a video on it
@kotafey odometer has 3.000miles on it. Maybe it came back off lease or was a trade in towards another car. Its certainly not "brand new".
@coffeeman220 its a 6 speed because its the 997 the 991 is the one that comes with the 7 speed manual
Great Review!.. That the way to show a Car!. Regards!
Bose Sound System of this car is Fantastic!!!
I was disappointed my BMW X6
incredible car! nice review!
it's not a scratch. it's 3M protective coating covering the rear wheel flares since they stick out further than the front wheels -- keeps crap from the road from dinging the paint.
Sports exhaust is a must! Loving mine.
Love ur vids man
@PianoandCarcrack94 no, on the regular carrera there's a plastic cover there lol. when i saw it in person at first i thought it was a scratch, but it wasnt.
love your reviews man great job..! =D
911 My favorite car in the world. Well the GT 2 RS is !
Which 911 model?
cbr cruz Well it says the GT 2 RS is! It says it right there??? Every 911 ever made but the 2011 GT 2 RS is my all time favorite!!!!!!!! dude you are awesome and very informational. Thank you sir.
Great long review
@jamesblake500 there is, its not boomy. its GOOD tight bass.
as much as i like his videos and i subscribe, he does go on a little bit
Its good car, i like it
As he said it comes with a 3.8 liter engine as he lifts the hood, it clearly says 3.6 on the engine. Wrong specs for a base Carrera engine.
Weird the 997.2 is always with the 3,8 L
i love the sound its so unique
@saabkyle04 No he's right actually. Porsche has a 7-speed manual for the 911 for 2012. I don't follow Porsche's so I don't know if it's available yet, but I've heard about it. Google "Porsche 911 7 speed manual" and you'll see what he's talking about.

manual gear shift, this is why i love Porsche. Even on 911 Turbo the option for manual gear shift is still available.
Very beautiful my grandfather actually has the #0004
Kyle i think you turned on the fog taillights. the car hasnt got any in the front.
nice video kyle! hey why don't you review the porsche carrera gt?
@kmartaylor It's because they perfected the design since day one
Video stopped at 9:11 magically
BTW kyle im curious, how is it a 2012 porsche ended up at a used car lot.? wondering if it was a demo? its VERY young mileage wise. or perhaps it was previously titled or something?
sound system sounds great!
@Mr9thdimension its the edge of the standard side panel 3m like cover
did anyone else notice that the entire time the engine was on, the engine oil temp stayed at 150F never moved. Yet, the engine cooling system temp went up
Very nice Porsche!
Very nice looking Porsche
Wow... look at all the orange peel in the paint (3:45). I assumed Porsche would do better.
Awesome video... another thumbs up for this UA-camr
Why buy one of these (2012 911, 997.2 Blk Ed, 3.6L @345hp with torque @288 ft\lbs) when the base 2012 911 (991), Carrera @350hp and 325 lb\ft.? I'll take one of these and that yellow convertible C6 Vette in the background
i don't know if it was mentioned but can you use next time a microphone with a wind sock/muff because the wind is ruining your last two videos :)
love the stopwatch
Do any of the dealerships let you test drive the cars?
@kevin91203 its not a scratch. many sports cars that have a wider rear wheel well have these protective films on the rocker panels behind the doors to protect the paint from little stones and stuff that is hurled up by the front wheel. Can you film a tour of a Cayman R? I'm sure ol man Hendrick has a few.
@kevin91203 Not a scratch, it's some kind of protecting pad which runs from the wheel arch to the sill. It's the same on both sides. My 2008 Cayman has them too.
@PianoandCarcrack94 This is a transparent protective film.
@saabkyle04 its ok....i know you work hard for it..people make mistake
add it to my "lotto" wish list thanks
Great Channel enjoy all your videos on this video you mentioned there's two transmissions options for this car the 7 speed pdk with electronic clutch do you mean by that it comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel? Thank you for your time you have a good day.
@NewEra0G I was thinking the same, this car is already is to speed in. will just make it even easier to get a ticket. least if has a digital speedo too.
Im not so fascinated by porsche, but a black porsche is really cool!
Hey Mr. Kyle you never did a in depth video on a 2011/12 Porsche (997) 911 GTS Coupe or Convertible. It would be nice to see one but in the way you do your reviews. Thanx.

@PianoandCarcrack94 No! It comes with the car!
"Lets check the exterior shall we" he says that in every video :3
I like how its say "Consider Remaining Range" every time he pushed on the gas.
1:08. Isn't it a 7-Speed manual transmission.
I believe the new 991s come with either a 7 Speed MT or 7 Speed PDK.
@2fknqk No, I would suspect that's the protective plastic film for the paintjob
@TheSaikou96 A Cayman R, a 60k version of the Cayman, is .1 second faster going 0-60 and is only slower by 2 mph than a 82k 911 Carrera 4.
love that sound
@saabkyle04 this is a awsome 911,i do see a yellow corvette, think i like yellow corvette bit more.
great video
the transmission on the 2011-present Porsche 911
Transmission
7-speed manual
7-speed PDK
I WANT THAT CAR !!!
My favourite car!
Does the car have 2 RPM gauges?
Or , what does the gauge on the extreme right display?
what a sexy design that Porsche has!!!!
the 2011-present Porsche 911 is assembled in
Stuttgart, Germany
@boobs2323 You can, but it is quite difficult to. There is a lot of resistance between first and reverse.
