My opinion is you guys can build a spreadsheet I thought the integration they offer would be simpler and worth the monthly fee. You can't sell similar to refresh or if you made mistake because it would duplicate the item and have to find the old listing and delete. As well there integration never matches the shipping so my analystics would be off and sometime the integration would double the sell of an item. I actually enjoy manual adding the information and you can actually see the profit per item and the graphs are so much better. If anyone is in the Market for a true reseller spread sheet. Thank you for the Spreadsheet! When we get to Jan 1 2023 should we be starting a New Spreadsheet for 2023 with just Active Listings, or do we just keep going with the current spreadsheet in 2023? Great spreadsheet. I added a column at the end to see how many days somethign sat in inventory before it sold. That will help me know what kind of items to look for. I also added a tab that helps me calculate the actual COG including price paid, tax (until I get my reseller cert), and mileage. Your sheet doesn't seem to deduct the COG from the total profit, so I changed one of the columns to enter that info. Otherwise, great sheet.

Just wondering, when you enter the shipping weight on your spread sheet - does that include the weight of your packaging as well? I do weight my items while I list, but I use the weight of the item minus packaging. I find myself wasting a lot of time reweighting the items when it's sold so I can get the most accurate rate.
Thank you for making this spreadsheet and allowing free access to it! I was about to waste so much money on Etsy trying out different sheets. Quick question… what is the purpose of weighing the individual items prior to packing them up? For example, an item might weigh 6 ounces, but after packing the item up (a lot of my items get bubble wrap or extra padding for protection during shipping) the weight of the individual item kinda seems pointless in that scenario. I also have been trying to use consistent size boxes and mailers and whatnot, but I DO recycle a lot of packaging to save money and cut down extra waste.
Great vids, and good job on the improvements! One thing you could have mentioned in the last section (regarding copying current data over) is copying over the data from the Dropdown Menus. I know spreadsheets, so it was simple for me. Once I did that, all the "INVALID" notices on my Inventory tab went away. 😉

Thanks for sharing your spreadsheet! Quick question re: eBay sales. When you enter the Sold Price, are you including the buyer paid shipping in this field or JUST the Sold Price of the item? So for instance, I sold an item for $15 and the buyer paid $6 shipping. However, when I purchased the label on eBay, it was $5. How are you accounting for the extra $1? Thanks in advance!
So amazing. Every time I wondered if you considered something you would show how you did. For 3.0. 1. Can you consider tracking days item is on spreadsheet but not listed? 2. Add a seasonal column to have an idea of what inventory is for future season. 3. Add a who entered on spreadsheet. 4. Add a timesheet page. 5. Add an expense page for home use cost. User enters percentage of house used. Then we can enter utility bills, cell cost etc for income tax. Where would you track sales tax expense?
Thank you for the spreadsheet and very informative tutorial. 1 question though. How do you handle returns and refunds? Also for future reference it may be worth thinking of adding columns for taxes. In Australia businesses (from a certain turnover point) need to keep track of GST (goods and services tax) both the amounts paid in purchases and collected in sales where applicable and pay the tax office the each quarter. Also a basic profit/ loss view to provide the accountant

Hello, I am new to ebay and this spreadsheet. Do you include tax when you input Sold Price on the inventory slide or only the actual sold price less tax? Column V. I originally was using the price with tax and changed it to the actual listed price without tax and some of my items have a negative net profit. I assume I am not charging enough for the item. Can you help?
Great video and spreadsheet thank you! I have thought of a potential way to deal with bundles. In spare column Q (after notes) I have added a checkbox to mark that the item was sold as part of a bundle. I then added "Bundle Discount" as an option for "adjustments" then I work out how much each item within the bundle had sold for on average and enter the adjustment. For example, if something is listed for £2.50 individually, I'll put that in the price sold and then add a discount of £0.90 to bring it down the average cost to £1.60 per item in the bundle. Hopefully that makes sense 😅

This is fantastic. I got WAY too excited about the date picker (it's the little things). The only thing I do that I don't see here, is I have columns with checkmarks showing where I have listed the items. So I can see (presale) where is this item listed for sale?

How do you enter a Kidizen Shipping Cost when the buyer pays shipping? Say an item you have listed for $7 + 4.50 shipping. Do you just put down 0.00 in the shipping cost. We know we have to purchase the label but they gave us the money to do it. will this applies to other +shipping items? And might i add a suggestion to bundles? You can always merge the items descriptions together into one row and make them one. Combine costs. That way it doesn''t really take away from the row you're not entering any info for. I was just splitting the cost amongst all items. So I had a bundle shirt and shorts listed separately. I split the fees and shipping cost by 2. IDK if that was doing something but it was my first one. But i think ill combine into one row.

I was excited to find this spread sheet and that it has an expense tab, but bummed to find out there is no profit/loss view taking the net profit and subtracting to expenses to find actual profit before taxes. Is this something the end user could add in somewhere? Thanks.
Is this sheet capable of having separate tab sheets for product items such as one Tab/sheet dedicated for Jewelry, One tab/sheet dedicated for clothes, etc? I like to have my goods separate with different tracking codes. My purpose is when I'm looking for an item I don't want to have to scan through a mix of items so find something so I like to keep separate categories. I appreciate any help you can offer Thank you
One way you can do this is to create filtered views that show your data based on the category you have them under. Then once you have filtered it down you can press Ctrl+F to search the page for the item. Hope this helps!

In the US, the taxes collected by the platforms like eBay are never paid out to you. They are held by and paid for by eBay, so you don't necessarily need to track them. I'm not sure how things work outside the US, but If you would like to you can use one of the spare columns provided. Hope this helps!
How do you recognize COGS for items picked up at the same yard sale. Say you source 10 items at a yard sale for $120...do you enter your COGS for each item as $12 or are you trying to remember what you actually paid for each item?
Great Video!....2 Question's : Can you add a line for "income Taxes" that will be owed per item, so that quarterly we can see at a glance what the total due would be (but have a quick tab added to the bottom, like you have for "active & sold listings) .... I think 11% of the total price it sold for is the amount we should approximate the tax to be... 2. Is there a way to move the numbering system down by one?... because the way it is now the #1 spot is held by "descriptions" like "purchase location, category and sourced by" etc etc .... so the actual numbers sold are technically "off" by 1 ... hopefully I explained that right.... On the Active Listings Sheet- where is the price I listed on Ebay or platform? I don't' see a column. And how did you get a calendar to pop up on the dates?
Question? Excellent Spreadsheet. For Tax purposes, we cam write off inventory as it is purchased meaning but the spreadsheet only shows cost of goods for sold items and not total purchases by month? Is there away to look at this that I am not seeing?
Ok so I make gift baskets. Would I be able to use the inventory in the way of keeping inventory on the items that I put inside the baskets in addition to the baskets. Like of course if I'm selling a spa basket, a coffee basket etc that's inventory too meaning how many baskets I have in stock to sell. But, I also what to keep track of the items inside of each basket so I know when to buy more. Would the baskets go on the inventory list, as well as the actually inventory of what goes inside the baskets?
Is the shipping cost amount the actual cost paid to shipper to ship or the amount you charged the buyer? Since you can over charge or under charge the buyer, an example using the spread sheet will be helpful. Thanks for making this sheet available
@@GingerMarvin you still have to keep a running tally of your actual shipping costs for tax form deductions. Example: I sold item for 19.99 plus buyer paid 12 to ship. Sold column would have 31.99 and actual cost to ship was 16.10. 16.10 goes in shipping column. But no column for the 4.10.. I need a sheet just for shipping over/under charges too.
Great spreasheet! Just started using this past week to check it out. My only issue is my totals dont equal to ebays totals. For instance i sold something for 12.79, 2.09 fees and 4.43 shipping, ebay says i made 5.86, but according to the spreadsheet i made 4.71? The difference is double the tax? Not sure what im supposed to put in these columns to equate what ebay states. Any help would be great 😊

I've been using the reseller spreadsheet, but every time I try to use the sort option on any of the calculated columns on the right, I end up getting a red triangle on my first listing that says "result was not automatically expanded" . (i am able to sort all columns on the left). I don't understand how to fix this. Thank you so much for this🥰
You can't re sort the main inventory page as the formulas do get messed up. But you can use a Filtered View to organize it how you prefer. To fix, you may need to revert back to the last working version in your "Version History" Hope that clears it up for you!
I have the older spreadsheet version but when I go to download this one it says “Access Denied” and I need to request Access, and I’m using the same email address as the previous spreadsheet.

I love using this spreadsheet! I have a question about shipping charges that are paid by the buyer. Should I include this information in the sold price of the item? I love the spreadsheet!! It has been an amazing tool for my business! I do have a question about exporting data from WhatNot. When I export the information for the items that I have purchased from WhatNot the date I purchased the items is missing, there is only a time listed but no date. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can export the dates items were purchased? Thank you in advance for your time.

We actually don't accept returns on eBay, so we personally handle them by adding the numbers in the "Adjustment" column, then at the end of the year we compare our numbers with the numbers we get from eBay. Hope this helps!

If I delete the "sourced by" and "special designation" columns, will it mess up any other data? if not i can just make them black and skinny as possible
Your sheet is amazing and easy to use. I watched it for a 3rd time to refresh my memory on a few things. I am unclear on how to "unfilter". I filtered the Inventory column Item so it showed a to z order. Now I need it to go back to ascending my numbers in the first column so I can continue to add items base on their inventory number. I guess I also need clarification on how to search for an item to mark it sold. I don't think filtering is the best way
I think I have some items figured out. I caught how you tell us to search for an item by bringing up the search bar. But I still can't get me Inventory list back to listing by Inventory number like I originally entered them. Also since the inventory is in A-Z order (which I did by filtering) i have lost the net profit column values.
To unfilter, you have to go back to where you selected what to show on the filter and select all again. You can also make your own filtered views so you can easily go back and fourth (Data > Filter Views > Create new filter view.) Any rearranging the rows should be done within a filtered view, the way the formulas work, if the formula in row 2 is moved, it breaks all the formulas in that column. You may need to reference a fresh copy to see the formula that should be in the cells in row 2. Basically row 2 needs to always be in row 2. I hope this all helps!

For an Ebay sale are you adding the shipping charge to the sale price? For example: Say I sold something for $25 and charged $6 for shipping. So I would have to put $31 in the "Sold Price" column? Is there another way I can do this if I want the sale price and what I charged for shipping to be shown separately?
Yes, add what eBay pays out to you, you can see that in the transaction page of eBay. The sheet will calculate the profit when you fill out all the other numbers like shipping. Hope this helps!
We have a video from last year on how to change over to a new sheet. We recommend copying any unsold inventory over to a new fresh sheet, then saving the old sheet so you can have it as a historical reference.
ebay collects taxes. it is added into your gross transaction. where do you put those taxes in the spreadsheet. Ebay also remits those taxes, so you never get the money, but it shows up on your 1099

Is there a way to add multiple units of certain items? I often buy i.e. 200 units of same item and need to list every unit in a separate line in order to get the correct unit.
The way this sheet works you would want an individual inventory line for each item, even if they are the exact same thing, as the sold info is tracked per line item. That way when items sell on different days, on different platforms, and/or for different amounts, that sale data can all be recorded correctly.

Thank you so much for the new spreadsheet! I can't wait to start using it. Just wondering, when you enter the shipping weight on your spread sheet - does that include the weight of your packaging as well? I do weight my items while I list, but I use the weight of the item minus packaging. I find myself wasting a lot of time reweighting the items when it's sold so I can get the most accurate rate.
Thank you for making this spreadsheet and allowing free access to it! I was about to waste so much money on Etsy trying out different sheets.
Quick question… what is the purpose of weighing the individual items prior to packing them up? For example, an item might weigh 6 ounces, but after packing the item up (a lot of my items get bubble wrap or extra padding for protection during shipping) the weight of the individual item kinda seems pointless in that scenario. I also have been trying to use consistent size boxes and mailers and whatnot, but I DO recycle a lot of packaging to save money and cut down extra waste.

Great vids, and good job on the improvements! One thing you could have mentioned in the last section (regarding copying current data over) is copying over the data from the Dropdown Menus. I know spreadsheets, so it was simple for me. Once I did that, all the "INVALID" notices on my Inventory tab went away. 😉

Thanks for sharing your spreadsheet! Quick question re: eBay sales. When you enter the Sold Price, are you including the buyer paid shipping in this field or JUST the Sold Price of the item? So for instance, I sold an item for $15 and the buyer paid $6 shipping. However, when I purchased the label on eBay, it was $5. How are you accounting for the extra $1? Thanks in advance!

So amazing. Every time I wondered if you considered something you would show how you did. For 3.0. 1. Can you consider tracking days item is on spreadsheet but not listed? 2. Add a seasonal column to have an idea of what inventory is for future season. 3. Add a who entered on spreadsheet. 4. Add a timesheet page. 5. Add an expense page for home use cost. User enters percentage of house used. Then we can enter utility bills, cell cost etc for income tax. Where would you track sales tax expense?

Thank you for the spreadsheet and very informative tutorial. 1 question though. How do you handle returns and refunds? Also for future reference it may be worth thinking of adding columns for taxes. In Australia businesses (from a certain turnover point) need to keep track of GST (goods and services tax) both the amounts paid in purchases and collected in sales where applicable and pay the tax office the each quarter. Also a basic profit/ loss view to provide the accountant

Hello, I am new to ebay and this spreadsheet. Do you include tax when you input Sold Price on the inventory slide or only the actual sold price less tax? Column V. I originally was using the price with tax and changed it to the actual listed price without tax and some of my items have a negative net profit. I assume I am not charging enough for the item. Can you help?

Great video and spreadsheet thank you! I have thought of a potential way to deal with bundles. In spare column Q (after notes) I have added a checkbox to mark that the item was sold as part of a bundle. I then added "Bundle Discount" as an option for "adjustments" then I work out how much each item within the bundle had sold for on average and enter the adjustment. For example, if something is listed for £2.50 individually, I'll put that in the price sold and then add a discount of £0.90 to bring it down the average cost to £1.60 per item in the bundle.

This is fantastic. I got WAY too excited about the date picker (it's the little things). The only thing I do that I don't see here, is I have columns with checkmarks showing where I have listed the items. So I can see (presale) where is this item listed for sale?

So would I. Ebay calculates the taxes in to the total and if we don't have a way to deduct it out, won't it be considered profit?

How do you enter a Kidizen Shipping Cost when the buyer pays shipping? Say an item you have listed for $7 + 4.50 shipping. Do you just put down 0.00 in the shipping cost. We know we have to purchase the label but they gave us the money to do it. will this applies to other +shipping items?
And might i add a suggestion to bundles? You can always merge the items descriptions together into one row and make them one. Combine costs. That way it doesn''t really take away from the row you're not entering any info for. I was just splitting the cost amongst all items. So I had a bundle shirt and shorts listed separately. I split the fees and shipping cost by 2. IDK if that was doing something but it was my first one. But i think ill combine into one row.
Let me ask you as I can't get an answer from Gingermarvin: would this be a good spreadsheet for ebay sales and the cost basis accounting? I want to know b4 I enter my data. Godaddy used to give me a profit loss statement at the end of the year, which was helpful at tax time. I'm not a power seller or anything.

I was excited to find this spread sheet and that it has an expense tab, but bummed to find out there is no profit/loss view taking the net profit and subtracting to expenses to find actual profit before taxes. Is this something the end user could add in somewhere? Thanks.

Is this sheet capable of having separate tab sheets for product items such as one Tab/sheet dedicated for Jewelry, One tab/sheet dedicated for clothes, etc? I like to have my goods separate with different tracking codes. My purpose is when I'm looking for an item I don't want to have to scan through a mix of items so find something so I like to keep separate categories. I appreciate any help you can offer Thank you
One way you can do this is to create filtered views that show your data based on the category you have them under. Then once you have filtered it down you can press Ctrl+F to search the page for the item. Hope this helps!

In the US, the taxes collected by the platforms like eBay are never paid out to you. They are held by and paid for by eBay, so you don't necessarily need to track them. I'm not sure how things work outside the US, but If you would like to you can use one of the spare columns provided. Hope this helps!
How do you recognize COGS for items picked up at the same yard sale. Say you source 10 items at a yard sale for $120...do you enter your COGS for each item as $12 or are you trying to remember what you actually paid for each item?

Can you add a line for "income Taxes" that will be owed per item, so that quarterly we can see at a glance what the total due would be (but have a quick tab added to the bottom, like you have for "active & sold listings) .... I think 11% of the total price it sold for is the amount we should approximate the tax to be...
2. Is there a way to move the numbering system down by one?... because the way it is now the #1 spot is held by "descriptions" like "purchase location, category and sourced by" etc etc .... so the actual numbers sold are technically "off" by 1 ... hopefully I explained that right....

On the Active Listings Sheet- where is the price I listed on Ebay or platform? I don't' see a column. And how did you get a calendar to pop up on the dates?
Question? Excellent Spreadsheet. For Tax purposes, we cam write off inventory as it is purchased meaning but the spreadsheet only shows cost of goods for sold items and not total purchases by month? Is there away to look at this that I am not seeing?

Ok so I make gift baskets. Would I be able to use the inventory in the way of keeping inventory on the items that I put inside the baskets in addition to the baskets. Like of course if I'm selling a spa basket, a coffee basket etc that's inventory too meaning how many baskets I have in stock to sell. But, I also what to keep track of the items inside of each basket so I know when to buy more. Would the baskets go on the inventory list, as well as the actually inventory of what goes inside the baskets?

Is the shipping cost amount the actual cost paid to shipper to ship or the amount you charged the buyer? Since you can over charge or under charge the buyer, an example using the spread sheet will be helpful. Thanks for making this sheet available
The shipping cost is what you paid for the label. You include the shipping that was paid to you in the sold price column.

@@GingerMarvin you still have to keep a running tally of your actual shipping costs for tax form deductions. Example: I sold item for 19.99 plus buyer paid 12 to ship. Sold column would have 31.99 and actual cost to ship was 16.10. 16.10 goes in shipping column. But no column for the 4.10.. I need a sheet just for shipping over/under charges too.
How would you add a quantity if you have more than one of a certain item?
Great spreasheet! Just started using this past week to check it out. My only issue is my totals dont equal to ebays totals. For instance i sold something for 12.79, 2.09 fees and 4.43 shipping, ebay says i made 5.86, but according to the spreadsheet i made 4.71? The difference is double the tax? Not sure what im supposed to put in these columns to equate what ebay states. Any help would be great 😊

I've been using the reseller spreadsheet, but every time I try to use the sort option on any of the calculated columns on the right, I end up getting a red triangle on my first listing that says "result was not automatically expanded" . (i am able to sort all columns on the left). I don't understand how to fix this. Thank you so much for this🥰
You can't re sort the main inventory page as the formulas do get messed up. But you can use a Filtered View to organize it how you prefer. To fix, you may need to revert back to the last working version in your "Version History" Hope that clears it up for you!
I have the older spreadsheet version but when I go to download this one it says “Access Denied” and I need to request Access, and I’m using the same email address as the previous spreadsheet.

I have an existing inventory and want to keep things as clean as possible. Should I just add my sales into inventory when they sell, instead of all the inventory that I purchased from years past before it sells? I love using this spreadsheet! I have a question about shipping charges that are paid by the buyer. Should I include this information in the sold price of the item? Or is there somewhere else to put this information? My net profits are not correct with this missing information. How does everyone else handle shipping ? Thanks for any help in this matter.

I do have a question about exporting data from WhatNot. When I export the information for the items that I have purchased from WhatNot the date I purchased the items is missing, there is only a time listed but no date. We actually don't accept returns on eBay, so we personally handle them by adding the numbers in the "Adjustment" column, then at the end of the year we compare our numbers with the numbers we get from eBay. Hope this helps!
On date listed, if you listed an item on 2 platforms on different days, does it matter which date you enter?

Your sheet is amazing and easy to use. I watched it for a 3rd time to refresh my memory on a few things. I am unclear on how to "unfilter". I filtered the Inventory column Item so it showed a to z order. Now I need it to go back to ascending my numbers in the first column so I can continue to add items base on their inventory number. I guess I also need clarification on how to search for an item to mark it sold. I don't think filtering is the best way
I think I have some items figured out. I caught how you tell us to search for an item by bringing up the search bar. But I still can't get me Inventory list back to listing by Inventory number like I originally entered them. Also since the inventory is in A-Z order (which I did by filtering) i have lost the net profit column values.
To unfilter, you have to go back to where you selected what to show on the filter and select all again.
You can also make your own filtered views so you can easily go back and fourth (Data > Filter Views > Create new filter view.)
Any rearranging the rows should be done within a filtered view, the way the formulas work, if the formula in row 2 is moved, it breaks all the formulas in that column. You may need to reference a fresh copy to see the formula that should be in the cells in row 2. Basically row 2 needs to always be in row 2.

For an Ebay sale are you adding the shipping charge to the sale price? For example: Say I sold something for $25 and charged $6 for shipping. So I would have to put $31 in the "Sold Price" column? Is there another way I can do this if I want the sale price and what I charged for shipping to be shown separately?
Yes, add what eBay pays out to you, you can see that in the transaction page of eBay. The sheet will calculate the profit when you fill out all the other numbers like shipping. Hope this helps!
Hi Chris, How do you go from this years spreadsheet to the next year? Do you keep the old sales in the spreadsheet or delete them or something else?
We have a video from last year on how to change over to a new sheet. We recommend copying any unsold inventory over to a new fresh sheet, then saving the old sheet so you can have it as a historical reference.
ebay collects taxes. it is added into your gross transaction. where do you put those taxes in the spreadsheet. Ebay also remits those taxes, so you never get the money, but it shows up on your 1099
I don't see a spot for taxes. Since we pay fees on taxes and it's included in the total, where would we enter this?

Is there a way to add multiple units of certain items? I often buy i.e. 200 units of same item and need to list every unit in a separate line in order to get the correct unit.
The way this sheet works you would want an individual inventory line for each item, even if they are the exact same thing, as the sold info is tracked per line item. That way when items sell on different days, on different platforms, and/or for different amounts, that sale data can all be recorded correctly.
