Saw em on original Abigail tour with Mike Moon filling in for Denner. Saw em again twice the next tour with Pete on guitar on Them. All three in Detroit. Once with Danzig, then with Flotsam and jetsam, and the 3rd time with Armored Saint.
think he will use the same Production that he's been talking about using for the US Tour with Overkill/Night Demon from October 15th to December 6th? an i read on his Twitter page that he's gonna be playing new songs from the upcoming "THE INSTITUTE" album, how many new songs do you think he'll actually play 3 or 4 new songs?
I know. What is rap and hip hop and R&B anyway? This is called "metal". It was fun to play and still is if you're a musician. It's difficult a lot of it. Mercyful Fate/King Diamond served as a niche of entertainment in the 80s as bands were trying to compete to be original in a sea of metal bands. Kind Diamond stood out with a very unique sound being from Denmark. This music scared many people to death then. Nowadays Satan comes over for dinner and no one cares so much. Diamond always had killer guitar players and was a guitar harmonies-oriented band. And no one on earth sings like him to this day. He had to be this way to gain recognition at the time and being heavy and not playing music for sissies was the idea. We teens had a lot of anger in the 80s for some reason. And there were no shortage of glam bands then and bands like us and King Diamond didn't want anything to do with those bands, so this music resulted along with a ton of other uncompromising, aggressive brutal metal to various degrees. Until grunge came along and killed it in the early 90s. Death metal prevailed throughout and kept bands like this alive so they can still be somewhat relevant today. Even if you don't like it. They sounded killer in '87 and they still sound killer, here. We musicians still do this because it's fun and because it's better than selling insurance.
