Neat experiment, but a bit too conventional for my liking and the TV show left a bit to be desired (you can tell they were on a budget). I think Control was when Remedy actually made a game on par with the original two Max Payne games, largely in terms of level design (I'll be honest, Alan Wake is a good game, but there's just a couple too many forest areas). Then AW 2 came out and blew everybody's socks off (first game of Remedy's to actually get into the 90s on Metacritic).

That tends to be the case with many people who work in horror, like Vincent Price and Freddy Kruger's actor. When your job involves creating stories about the depths of human & paranormal depravity, the importance of being a good person becomes a lot clearer.

Something i love about Sam is his accent. It's just that specific type of Accent i've only seen Finns speak. Low key this man has accompanied all my life ever since I was blown away as a 17y old playing Max Payne. Didn't fully realize all he is and means from the very first day, but always seeing him from time to time and also experiencing the amazing games, now that I am 39, it's like looking back I can't picture my love of videogames and stories without him :) That rummaging in the basement of Remedy's HQ to find Max Payne gear from the very first I felt like a million dollars, such a sweet moment, I was laughing with tears and touched at the same time :) "Echo scenes to seek ooooooooooouTT!!! AGAIN AND AGAaaaaaaaaaaIN!!" :)

He's just always been there and all of the sudden it really exploded post Control and AW2 in terms of my realizing how much I cherish him. He's somehow ego free in spite of clearly loving the camera and spotlight. Just such a weird, goofy guy who loves creative media of all kinds and wants to celebrate all of it however he can. There's really no one that quite occupies the space he is in. One of the purest creatives in gaming media. Right up there with someone like Lorne Lanning in terms of their inability to not be so obvious about who they are in the best kind of way
now it makes sense why alan wake 2 is such an awesome game, because this guy is the one responsible for writing and leading the creative process and COFFEE WORLD from Jakko and Ilmo is an easter egg

One of the reasons I try to encourage people to seriously check out remedy games, honestly only other game that ever brought me into its world as good as any remedy game was hellblade senuas sacrifice which is another highly recommended series for those seeking a highly immerse story experience

This is when I started paying closer attention to who are actually behind the games that I enjoy. The person, who they are, what other works they've done etc. There was such little info on him back then when he was still just known as the face model and writer of Max Payne. I remember finding an old Finnish website that had a series of all his short stories(one being called "A Circle of Saints"). I kind of liked the mystery behind him back then lol. You could barely even find a picture of him.

(That musical part was ... just.. wow) .. and Sam Lake is an incredible visionary who deserves awards for Alan Wake 2 .. It was a masterpiece.. There are a few actors/actresses that i credit Sam for knowing. Ilkka, Matt, Shawn, Courtney and more. Love Remedy. Sam seems super genuine and i have very high hopes for Remedy in the future. Max Payne was cool and fun. Was engaging. Alan Wake showcased thier story telling. Quantum Break tried to even build on that with the live action. Control nailed it. Alan Wake 2 watching them come into themselves and really hone in on thier style is just perfect. They have it and I really think they are just gonna keep continuing on with the trend. Every game they make is better than the last.
Sam should really look into making a reality tv show about a fictional reality show..just imagine, Max Payne and Alan Wake in a house on the lake..where all they have is coffee, Remedy games to play, and Meta commentary about them playing their own games. The show will be called “Wake the Payne FT: Bright Falls smooth blend”.
