- In the new "Halloween," Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum ("Get Out," "The Purge," Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.

Biggest movie of the year . Can't remember so much hype for a movie in long time .
If you want to talk about trauma, my father was a drinker, gambler, and a drug pusher. He sold stuff around the house and made my mother go through a nightmare with his lies everyday that she was married to him. I got sick with kidney failure at age 4 and I thankfully have recovered from that, I also have trauma from grade school, middle school, and high school from all the bullying and harassment that I had to put up with. I went to school when bullying was never looked at as a problem like it is now, I went to school from 1987 through 2000. Whether its a murdered or a bully or a sexual predator, its still the same. My grandfather was an extreme racist and treated my grandmother to alcohol. My grandfather was verbally abusive towards me and the rest of my family. These are things that I have had to put up with for a long time. You. Never. Get. Over. It. I also had a professor in 2001 who rejected me for being learning disabled. He told me that I need to figure out what I needed to do in order to pass his class. Because I was not in the right frame of mind or something like it. He could have been sued for the crap that he put me through. Trauma is something YOU never forget. Michale Myers is a character that I has given me chills since I saw Halloween when I was a little kid. I have seen all the sequels since then. All of them are gripping, but its truly about the original film that takes the cake in the end. Thank you to Jamie Lee Curtis and David Green for the new Halloween film.

Michael's doctor is revealed to have orchestrated the bus crash and his escape. Allyson is dating a guy named Cameron Elam, the son of Lonnie Elam who bullied Tommy Doyle. When Michael is grabbing Laurie through the door, she blows his right hand off with the shot gun, locks him in the basement/panic room, sets off propane gas and burns him down with the house. During a montage of the house burning and Laurie bleeding to death from her stab wound, we can hear him breating which indicates that hes still alive...the cut to black
A sequel we deserve, it's gonna be out on the 19th. Gettin' those tickets now for a horror flick to enjoy.

The great Jamie Lee Curtis! Love, Love, Love her! She rocks and is the best. Halloween 2018 is great and still scared me. Great performance, acting, bad ass, Jamie Lee Curtis. I've followed since 1978 Halloween movie. Everything she explained made total sense to me now. I see the whole picture, of course now that I'm 50 and older than when I saw the first movie back then.
The audience participation part is true. When I saw this in 1978 the whole theater was packed and everyone was Screaming!!

What about every time Jamie Lee butchers the word Trauma with Trawmah.
Love Jamie’s passion for the project, and she’s a hell of a sales woman. But H20 covered the same ground 20 years prior, dealing with Laurie’s trauma. And the cathartic final moments between Laurie and Michael was stronger than this new film.
Super excited to see the movie.

How incredible is this woman really. Wow. I wasn't thrilled about the movie but after seeing the reviews and Jamile Lee's enthousiasm about it, I'm in. I'm so fuckin' in.
I went to see "Halloween" 40 years ago when I was just in High School. I though it was so good and saw it several times in the theater. But I never would have believed it would become the classic and spoken of so fondly after so many years. I loved the Panaglide shots when projected on a large movie screen. No matter how large your wallscreen is, it can't compare to a real large movie screen. It had a wonderful "you-are-there" feel to it that is now lost on a smaller TV screen. I loved the music score. Unfortunately John Carpenter messed up the music for DVD home video. He went back and put these awful music overlays on top of the original score. He even put a thumping disco beat over the opening credit music which destroys the original Halloween mood. If possible, get the blu-ray 35th Anniversary of "Halloween". It is the only home video that can be programmed to play the original mono track which is much better than Carpenters shrill overlays. CHEERS!!!!

Ok. To be 100% honest, from day one that I heard about the angle this final movie was taking, I have been totally pissed off. Because, it was like a 40 year long punch in the gut to the hard core fans, " Your devotion to the story of Michael & Lorrie mean absolutely nothing!" And, until this interview, I still felt that way.
But, Jamie Lee Curtis's philosophical view brings the purpose of this version into perspective, as a survivor of 9 years of violent mental, physical & sexual abuse from ages 4 to 13. At 53, I am still dealing with the pain & trauma that defined & destroyed my life.
As a diehard lover of horror movies, I was at the 1978 premier, and have loved the original since. As a survivor, horror movies are how I have been able to deal & release my pain & anger, and not hurt anyone else in the process. So, Jamie's prospective has completely changed my viewpoint altogether. Now, I'm crying!
I am so thankful to have watched this interview, as 2018's "Halloween" will now be a cathartic finale!

If this film was set 40 years later after the first film therefore this is not really a direct continuation as Halloween 2 already did that in 1981.
Halloween 2018 does not continue from the 1978 one because the timeline is not going to have Michael Myers WAIT around 40 years to carry on from the Original.
I get being live and nervous and making mistakes, so I’ll say this is what happened here to this guy. But I’ve seen some who effed up these interviews royally. Fans should be doing these interviews.
