    Imo, not playing max Christie last year is as big a reason as anything as to why Darvin ham got fired. He missed out on so much development last year when vando AND reddish were hurt and ham was playing Taurean Prince 30 min a night.

    Yessir! My guy Max Christie as a Lakers fan I've been a big believer in Max Christie even tho Darvin Ham didn't give him minutes like he needed to so Max could grow. Max has had some ups and downs but it's been worth it because he's started to show what we as Lakers Nation thought he could be which is a 2-way player!

    • @nexusassoon8367

      I was screaming at my TV when Ham wouldn't let Max get any run against Murray in the playoffs

    • @MBeano
      @MBeano 16 днів тому

      The Hamster committed multiple crimes, but his biggest may be sleeping on Max. Lakers have been believers in Max, and that is why he got his contract. Max has been steadily delivering and improving. He also has a ripple impact - He is their best and most athletic perimeter player that actually plays, but aside from his individual skill and performance, the fact that Max now takes on the primary perimeter assignment, this will continue to unlock AR. AR isn't great on defense, but he isn't horrible either. Now that he has the secondary perimeter assignment, this improves their defense overall. It also takes a load off AR, allowing him to have more energy burst and lift.
      I give some credit to JJ and the coaching staff, for believing in him, focusing his role, and putting him in the starting lineup. They have allowed him to grow and develop, unlike the previous regime that ignored him.

    He's been able to most of these things since his rookie szn in those very rare moments Darvin Ham's dumba55 actually gave him playing time. I've been saying for a while that Darvin should've used Max since his rookie szn, but that dumba55 kept dnping Max. I'm so happy JJ gave him an opportunity despite the early struggles in the beginning of the szn. Now everyone can see what most of us real basketball fans have seen in the dark for some time now going back to his college days where he showed signs of what type of player he can be in the NBA.

    Imo, Max has PHX Mikal Bridges potential. Just a left 3&D guard/wing that you can count on to hit shots and defend at a high level. He’s only going to get better as the season goes along. The confidence is already starting to show.

    I also think Gabe Vincent has played better defensively (not a popular opinion).. but Lakers cutting ✂️ down D. Konects minutes for Christie & G. Vincent (D.lo)... Has helped a lot defensively.. taking note that your chart confirms that connect in the line up led to poor defense from the grouping.. nothing to be negative about Dalton .. they just need to find a line-up that gets the best off him & doesn't make the team a liability in defense...
    If Christie can be consistent throughout the regular season (making him legit)... Then what's the point keeping Vanderbilt @ $17m taking note that vando is practically negative in offense ... & Struggles against bigger guards ....

    People saying Max should have gotten more burn last year weren't really watching - last year with Darvin Ham he was timid and constantly overwhelmed by big moments especially on offense. Whatever JJ has done with him in the offseason has completely turned him around. He's confident, aggressive, and an absolute dog on defense. He is now a clearcut upgrade over DLO who is one of the worst point-of-attack defenders on the team and to be honest I wouldn't be suprised to see DLO getting shipped somewhere soon for peanuts.
    On a team like the Lakers the better your defense is the more your offense will thrive via fast break... Max is easily a better fit than DLO and its not even close. DLO will still have games where he gets hot from deep but when his shot is off or average he's a net negative for the Lakers
