The Kings really do have a great combination of guards who can all run, distribute, score, and defend. Fox, Monk, and Ellis all work together very well in any combination, plus Sabonis is one of the absolute best ball-distributing big men in the league. Put that together, and almost any lineup the Kings put on the floor will have 2 or 3 excellent distributors, and when the team is playing at its best, everyone is moving around to facilitate that.
Keon Ellis is THE "glue guy", one of our most valuable pieces, and maybe the most underrated player in the league rn. Guys like Ellis are the secret to winning championships.
Did u see monk pass the ball to heurter vs the warriors, scream out "shoot it ninja" then as heurter laced it, he screamed boom in Draymonds face. Yeah thats the glue guy. My favorite King for sure.
@@dylanpeterson8680 probably sabonis not being an all star. I have no idea how it’s possible to finish top 10 in MVP voting while not being an all star
what do you expect lol, people don’t watch the Kings. Same types of channels were making “what are the Kangz doing???” Videos just a couple of weeks ago
Our play style has completely changed since Doug Christie took over, we’re full court pressing, double team trapping ball handlers as they cross half-court, making them work in the middle of the floor instead of the perimeter, and we’re overall playing pretty solid zone defense. On the offensive end our pacing is back to what it was in 22-23’ year it’s amazing to watch
What's interesting is Monk didn't play much in his first 4 years in Charlotte so I think he is just starting to get close to his prime. He doesn't have many miles on him even though this is his 8th year and he's only 26. I suspect his next three years are going to be special. He could possibly be an All-Star in his 10th year in the league.
People forget Monk and Brown would bash heads, even to the point where they got into an argument mid game last year. Mike was a hard ass on them and the guys didn’t respect him. Weight has been lifted off their shoulders for sure and now they can just hoop
To have a player like monk at a 4yr contact under 20 mil for the next 4 yrs and Keon under 3 mil for the next 2 yrs is one of the most under appreciated aspects of the build of this squad. You will typically to see a value contract with most teams following one or the other but not really both and we have that. It blows my mind
No question Malik should be the primary point guard, with Fox as shooting guard. The entire squad plays better with Malik at point, when both he and D are on the court.
Fox, Monk, Ellis, Carter. I feel like we might have the best guard depth in the league tbh. If we could find another good 3/4 that can defend and shoot and an upgrade at the backup 5 we might be a complete team.
The Kings are in a weird position. They've been struggling looking for a lineup that works and it almost looks like the Fox injury is a blessing in disguise as now both monk and Ellis can start. Now given the fact fox hasnt extended and is gonna be a free agent you almost wonder if they shouldnt explore the market for him...
Wait what you just said if I'm the Kings I'm getting somebody like spicy pee or trying to get somebody like Jeremy Grant because that's another screener you can pop and roll and that's all we doing for the rest of the year running pick and roll
I don't understand why the fox fans keep saying WE CAN'T WIN WITHOUT FOX. WRONG. Fox fans needs to stop seeing monk as a JORDAN POOLE, just some "sixth man scorer." Monk is A BETTER BASKETBALL PLAYER BETTER POINT GUARD than fox and Jordan Poole. Monk pushes the bball in transition. He's just as QUICK and ATHLETIC as fox. Monk has better handles. Monk is a better play maker. MONK WILL PASS THE BBALL to his teammates. So if fox gets traded, i ain't worried. Monk is still here. He's a BETTER OVERALL BASKETBALL PLAYER THAN FOX.
I remember when everyone was the King’s coach. But seriously someone should post all the coaches in order and it’s kinda sad. Best of luck to coach Christie, enjoyed listening to Doug on the TV and radio and watching him play back when I lived in Sac Town.
I almost feel like youtubers like you make these type videos to sway parlays to go a certain way. I mean 90% of basketball youtubers are already sponsored by some sort of gambling app anyway.
hell yea 7 straight wins

That means its time for the Kings to trade him
Monk absolutely robbed of 6MOTY last season!
💯
which was worse monk or domas not an all star

@@astral_fetusyea he wasn't an allstar but all nba
Malik was inserted into the starting lineup by Mike Brown
That’s when I stopped this video..

It's really the Fox injury and moving Ellis into the starting lineup that has unlocked the Kings. The injury was almost a blessing in disguise...

Monk is a DAWG!!!! Every single fan should be at the game barking as loud as they can every time that man touches the ball or makes a hoop
Monk needs to be an All Star AND absolutely needs to be in the dunk competition, this should have happen long ago!
Does anyone even care about the all star game? No one tries. Get rid of it and put two more games in the regular season or something.
And he should’ve won 6th man over Naz Reid tbh…
💵MONEY MALIK!💵
Charlotte and Lakers might regretted letting Monk go

Great personality too, I love having Malik in Sac

Been a kings fan all my life and he is my favorite player currently.
Great vid, watching monk play is a blessing
All 3 Kings playmakers are over 90% on pick&roll?🤔 #Domas💪😂
Malik as a PG Is tough
Kings keep rollin rollin
"Malik means king in Arabic." - Marc Jones every single game
Malik means king in Arabic.....He's the King Monk of the Kings
All Hail..
Yeah we passed on Luca, but the Lakers passed on Monk.
And Fox 😂
They could trade Fox for alot and still be good having Monk starting PG
He's RIDICULOUSLY fun to watch..LIGHT THE BEAM LIK'!

Monk and Ellis shine under new coach.
Idk his game reminds me a lot of John starks

He started before Mike was fired
Fuck it if fox wants to leave we’ll put monk at the 1 he already proved he can win games without fox
I don’t wanna say he’s better than fox but so far the eye test says he his better shooter can facilitate and slash and handle the ball
MALIK MY GOAT 🐐
Malik pairs well w Sabonis than Fox

Definitely not underrated tho. You ask anybody who played high school with him they’ll tell you he Wes the hardest to guard. Him and reddish
Pacers 6 straight
he’s better off the bench, needs to go back to being the sixth man
Hell no
@ Hell yes, keon needs to be starting
