Its one thing to have a women you are in love with and get cheated on, but its a whole different vibe when you are the dude who is with a girl who is cheating on her man. I don't know how to explain it, but the first time I experienced being in that situation, I was just not able to look at women the same way again. I saw a dark part of female nature and it made me realize how naive I really was. Anyone here experience something similar?
Yup. I’ve been in a handful of that situation. Am i proud of it, no. But ive done a lot of self reflection and ive taken a break from messing or talking with women. It takes a toll on your mental. And i think that’s such an undermined/ underrated concept.
Because deep down you know it's not honourable and it could happen to you. Plus it's a dangerous game where you will not be protected if the dude finds out and gets the drop on you. The girl will likely throw you under the bus if the level of threat from her man is high. Sometimes a females perception of danger can be unreliable. To her, her mans a goofy, to you the dude could be a savage. Best to stick with your instincts, since you are more likely to pay the full price.
@jukijunk I did find out, decades later, that a girl I was going out with prior to me getting married was actually seeing (hence f-cking) one of her exes and actually dating another guy. She was able to get away with all of this because we lived 45 miles away from each other and we could only see each other every other Saturday and the occasional vacation. She used to use the work excuse for the weekend we were not able to meet up. Almost a whole year of this BS. Imagine this: 22 years old and running at least 3 guys on a rotation. She was a porn star in the sack though.
When that happens, you lose that little bit of idealism you had towards women. Men, I think, are the romantics of the two genders, and to truly, deeply love a woman, you need a little bit of idealism. Not to put her in a pedestal, but to truly think she is worthy of your protection, provisioning, and emotional investment. Monogamy is hard as it is. Imagine adding nihilism to the equation.
