That’s all in your throttle control man. Check out wheelspinTV on his guide to drifting. It’s an old video on FH4 but it’s helped me a lot and I’ve only had a wheel for about a week now
@@reddeadryan78 yes, the only time I would recommend going filling throttle is in your initiation to get your car to spin but as your drifting never full throttle, only feather it
This video is super helpful! FH5 is my first game where I'm trying to learn to use a wheel and after a lot of practice I can atleast stay on the road for the most part in racing. Drifting however has felt rather impossible on a wheel but I'm sure I'll get it down eventually if I keep at it. Really like the idea of binding the clutch-pedal to e-brake instead!
My drift progress took about 150 hours until I managed to drift relatively consistently, about 20 hours from that was learning to donut consistently (not just regular donut, changing sizes of it too) up to 30 hours I learned to do 8 shaped drifting, another 20 hours was pure practice of this (learning to change sides was the hardest imho) 50-100 hours was just getting better and better, took it to a nice spot and learned to shift during drifts to keep it faster and get a smoother pace, the last 50 hours were easiest since I got all the basics off, then there is just the pure drift learning curve that comes over time My tip is to use a slow car, tune it well, try how it drifts on controller to make sure it slides well (mine was s13 silvia with about 180hp) after some time switch to like 300hp, its a game changer if you manage to control that you will drift anything at this point
Great explanation on how to properly drift! I really think that with this video you are going to help a lot the new drifters! Keep up the good work, cheers bro!
I spin out constantly with the wheel to the point I feel like giving up. Then I connect my controller and it feels like I'm a drift god, nothing goes wrong even if I try intentionally. What am I doing wrong with the wheel?
i recently acquired my first sim wheel so as someone who drifted tons in fh4 on controller, i appreciate the advice! would you be down with sharing your FFB settings?
When I drift with a wheel I used assisted steering in the setting because it’s easier to control the car and drifts are smoother. Normal steering seems to just be harder. Do you know why this is?
While I know this is late and I don't know for sure, forza sends bad info to wheels because it seems like it works in 90° segments and just isn't accurate to how games like assetto corsa allow for precision with high rotation, it was made for controllers and while it's ok it makes the game feel odd with a wheel.
@rebelkassadin a year goes by and I'm here in minutes... I need a life 🤣 so.. its in settings...hud and gameplay, towards the bottom.. cockpit drift camera.. its a lil odd for a moment but now I can't drive without it. Let me know 👋
seems like my thrustmaster wheel with ffb is stiff to turn but also wont come back as swiftly as yours which seems like a huge impact in drifting. also when im using keyboard, car just wont seem to lose control that easily like when i connect my wheel. i mean it literally goes donuts with the slightest throttle.
I just got a G923 today and I adjusted my settings, still can’t drift like I can on controller, I keep spinning out in 200, 300hp cars, which shouldn’t be happening, I’ve tried throttle control and weight shifting.
Iva managed to keep my car from spinning out with learning to counter steer at the right time but now I’m struggling with timing my drift and angling the car right 🥴 this was really helpful and even watching how you angle yourself and when you start the drift helped a lot man keep it up!
I don't understand why my trhustmaster tx LE turns left and right by itself, making strength especially in dirt racing with rally cars, it is uncontrollable....why is not like a real car....
I`m on a wheel and no matter what I do, once the drift is complete and you want to transition into another the car spins out. No amount of counter steer helps
Got a video coming out soon covering the 599XX E and whether it is still a 300mph Car so turn on those notifications and get ready!
Yessss cant wait too see that!!!

I dont think it is anymore

what advanced control setting are you using on wheel?
I love drifting but I struggle keeping my car from spinning out so much. Thxs for the vid once again and thxs again for the help lol

What helped me was lowering the wheel rotation to 360 and raise it as you get better ..

It’s cause the wheels are built for 10 year olds and pedals are made for women I can close my legs like that

By far the best fh5 drift tutorial
Thanks so much, literally 10 mins ago I was looking for a driving tutorial, and now I found this.
This was such a easy tutorial to follow thnx
This was very helpful. I'm going to assign the e-break to the clutch pedal and see how it works! Thanks!
I want to try that too, what am I supposed to assign the clutch to though if I do that?
imtrexy any button on the steering wheel I made mine a

Drifting on controller u don't even need to care about throttle. But then with a wheel the throttle seems way more sensitive

my oppinion, use the weight of your car and swing it into the corner, clutch kick to help getting the wheels spinning on low HP cars
Have any of you used the drift cam mode on the cockpit view? Makes a huge difference. Its in a strange menu to activate it but let's you look sideways

How did you switch your clutch petal to your e brake?
Why did you change the channel name? I was finding your channel and today I found it.
