For me at least, wall dwellers are only scary if you play through the game at a slow or normal pace. 2:18 BRO THERES LIKE A AMBIANCE OF A FOOTSTEP RUSHING TOWARDS YOU AND SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME IT WAS SO LOUD THAT IT MADE ME SCREAM I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GONNA GET TAKEN IRL😭😭
FOR REAL i was in a room once too scared to go out and i heard that and almost shat my pants and thought i was dead pinkie also happened to pass by and i didnt know what it was so i was done
My favorite horror aspect and what I think is the most terrifying thing in Pressure are the Wall Dwellers. You see them in the walls and nothing happens, but you know that means something. You continue playing normally until you suddenly turn around and see that thing was following you all along. The next time you meet a Wall Dweller, you can't shake off the paranoia
im pretty sure the thing in the document where they run away only to come back sometimes is a lie just to make you paranoid cause its never happened to me before.
I personally thought the scariest part of the game was getting into late game and being at ridge or searchlight encounter. The stakes of dying and losing all your progress gets you on edge,i personally felt like i was about to have a heartattack in the room before the ridge by hearing the suspenseful music along with the process of going onto the ridge bridge and seeing the angler going onto the ridge bridge too is just so scary.
I have to agree, I'm an absolute vessel when it comes to horror games, they never get me, the jumpscares I find them boring, but I was lowkey scared for losing my progress, so instead of playing it safe because I was scared, I played it safe to avoid losing, which is a good progress, something you don't get with the figure on doors, its matter of running into a locker. BUT IF one of the searchlights gets you, you die
3:55 as a thalassophobic person who has unfortunately found myself loving the hell out of pressure. I can confirm! I was not expecting the most terrifying experience of my life (slash serious) to be the finale of funny underwater doors game but it was cathartic as hell to beat a horror game that actually scared me :D !!
Common Ultrakill and pressure stuff: 1. Players always watching videos about how good their game is 2. Gianni voices one of the characters 3. BREAKCORE1!1!1!1!!1!1!1 4. Has something that's giant and its spinning 5. Fucking awesome games
I already don't like being deep underwater, but Pressure just cranks that up to 11. The sound cues that are important being almost absent underwater, along with the inability to see much makes it HAUNTING. It does a similar thing Lethal Company does with Immersion, and it's PERFECT!
The underwater is a bit lacking though, the only monster that is exclusive to underwater areas are Trenchbleeders and those stupid parasites that nobody cares about.
1:21 "doomed from the start" "Futile" "Struggle" "Ahh so concludes the life of times of this player. A fitting end to a person defined by *Futile* *Struggle* *Doomed from the very start* .
I wasted 31 hours for bragging rights, and you know what? it was worth it. I found so many rare rooms, got to play with so many other people, and eventually got enough experience to actually win lockerless and it felt so rewarding
My favorite part about this this game and start understanding the mechanics behind it is that, whether intentional or not, is the fact that light is, ironically, your enemy for the most part. Blackout rooms (at least in my experience) will never spawn an angler on you, and the squiddles will not attack unless you actively provoke them by having your light out or standing too close to them for a long time. As for the light, when anglers spawn, except pinkie, the lights will flicker, warning you that there's something coming and you gotta hide (again going back to my point where darkness is your homie), eyefestion has a green glow where if you look at it for too long, you die. Searchlights is obvious, stand in their light for too long, face your demise. The turrets introduced in the new update, you have to avoid being caught by the light while navigating the dark room. I recently did a run for the "we die in the dark" badge, and i was able to complete it first try no problem, and it was a game changing experience. Also, adding to this tangent cuz i just thought about it, angler fish in real life will lure prey using the light they have. Aight thats all i have to say, if youve read this whole... essay, appreciate you.
Also that giant beacon AKA TRENCHBLEEDER at the hidden lore section is either named "Lucy,Rose,River,Leon" and based on the direction,it can be lucy, river or rose,as i seen so far, leon go from the right.
Some of the ambiance noises i love the most in pressure are the ones that remind you you're not the only person they sent. I've heard muffled submarine arrival announcements, people running through a turret room and getting gunned down, footsteps, doors opening... it's a really cool aspect of the game and I love to notice it during my runs :)
Fun Fact: The Ridge’s “Song” is called “The Part where we throw everything at you.” It’s a reference to portal’s “The Part where he kills you.” Also u remind me of foekoe with ur editing
also the badge icon for the "oh those were the bad turrets werent they" badge literally has the aperture science icon on it, and it also resembles the aperture science style with the stickman on it
@@pablobigpopspretty sure it's also a reference for when wheatley tries to gun you down with the turrets but forgets that he helped you sabotage the turret production before
I’m gonna put an experience I had that shook me a lot, I was in one of those big door rooms and found the not-so-imaginary friend. Used it, then after a bit I heard from them “behind you”, boom a wall dweller literally right behind me about to end my good run. I was SHOOK, I was then very anxious and died to angler two rooms later
Isnt that what the ending text explicitly said? I think everyone that beats the game already know that the old man in the wheelchair with tank treads IS mr.shade
The mention of Innovation Inc and Pinewood just sent me on a nostalgia trip It's so sick that they're all connected! (At least Innovation and Pinewood- I never noticed that playing the games as a kid) Awesome video dude!
Doors floor 2 just released, its clear that the LSplash team is going for a more Thrilling and Action-like game, It was absolutely worth waiting 2 years and id say pressure is yes, very good at doing its job scaring the shit out of people, but when i tried doors floor 2, it was literally CRACKED in the action especially with the seek parts, both are good for their categories, thats why i love both.
The ambiance innthis game is spectacular. My favourote ones are when you can just barely hear the sounds of some other random group of expendables making their way through the facility and usually getting killed off. I think my favourite instance of this was when the PA system came on and I could just barely hear "Your continued insubordination will no longer be tolerated. Standby for PDG detonation." And as the PA goes back offline, you can faintly hear the bang of someone losing their head.
Ultrakill didnt just inspire the music, it inspired a LOT of the design in the game. Probably about 60% of the game has a hint of ultrakill in it, and it never manages to be stealing.
the squiddles "turn in the light" bit was just perfect lol I love the squiddles, they act like weird little angry cats. Also constantly bothering them to see thier cool faces is a fun pass time of mine
18:08 and because the Trenchbleeders are literally Earthmovers but with feet so Lucy can do the only notable thing any the of the Trenchbleeders do in the whole game I love the concept of Deep sea walking oil rigs why do they only exist to walk through a rare room, light up a boss arena, and crush a Searchlight why are they not more expanded upon WHY?! I LOVE THE TRENCHBLEEDERS ESPECIALLY LUCY BECAUSE SHE IS A LITTLE (Massive) BEAN.
I love Pressure. There are some things it could improve in, but the biggest one has to be that it doesnt really use the "you're at the deepest possible point of the planet, completely stranded, terrifying unknown fish everywhere" part. You fight things that barely resemble oceanic life or have anything to do with oceans for the most part. Flooded rooms and Lucy/luminaria encounters use water as an excuse to let you fly, rather than a reason to introduce something scary. Windows displaying the ocean and ocean floor have nothing there besides the eyefestations, which are not nearly as scary as most other monsters. I find it strange that main pull of the game is "at the bottom of the ocean, alone" and yet its mostly "alone in the poorly managed military base that happens to be somewhere you cant be rescued, which also happens to be the bottom of the ocean".
I agree a bit. It’s really annoying that there are LESS monsters underwater than above water, and no unique ones except for the parasites nobody cares about.
This game has me playing it alone every time because Im to impatient to wait for my friends to have the time. Im terrified each time but I love playing it so much
6:34 omg you're not lying. last night i beat the game for the first time with my friend AND I WAS SO SCARED. I had a panic attack and I almost vomited like 3 times out of fear it was no joke. AT LEAST I WON!!
As someone who has tons of hours in Doors and loves the game dearly, Pressure is just as addicting. I love what the game does and think it does some things better than Doors. One of these is the 2 searchlights encounters. They give me massive stress and anxiety unlike Doors ever has. I also like the scp theme they do. And you cant forget the badges, which is one of my favorite aspects of Doors. I like badge hunting and Pressure has many fun and cool badges. Unlike some badges (Im looking at you, "This Badge Sucks") But yeah, play Pressure it big fun
15:33 the name “innovation inc.” sent be back, holllyyyyy crap. Does anyone else remember screwing around with the overly complicated coffee machine and getting super excited when a meltdown was happening? Anyway, urbanshade has got nothing on the science of innovation inc., 8 year old me can testify.
1:48 the soundtracks in pressure have inspiration from the soundtracks from ultrakill, one example of this is the theme “Search party” being based off the ultrakill theme “War without reason”
3:59 *spoilers* the base itself lies in a fictional trench to the west of Norway. The total trench depth is something like 21,3 kilometers, and the base itself is 18,8 kilometres under sealevel.
@@HamzaOral-vd3xl the whole reason that this base can exist, is because theres a zone wich has surface level pressure that starts at 18,8 km, and right under the start of that zone is where the base has been built
@@HamzaOral-vd3xl the lore says that the Let-Vand zone (trench that the blacksite is in) has an unusually low water pressure equivalent to that of the coral reef - so people can swim freely in it. however the ocean surrounding the zone has a still has a significantly high pressure, meaning if a person tried leaving the Let-Vand zone with just diving gear they'd be crushed immediately by the sudden pressure change.
for the ridge, the deaf mode in the settings helps a bit, since it tells u if pandemonium / angler varients are coming and its colour coded too, red=pandemonium, grey=angler, white=blitz, pink=pinkie(shocker), green=chainsmoker, this helped me a bunch
I play on deaf mode and you are absolutely right. I am so scarred from pinky and shit that Istg I’ve started hallucinating the effects you see on your screen. It’s so bad. I’m so gone
Likely animated it by drawing the text multiple times with subtle differences. Switching the drawings slightly moves the text and makes it stand out. Hope this helps
so I wanna come on here before people get the wrong idea- no I do not draw the text (I'm not that good at art lol), I actually apply an effect that makes any text or image wiggle like crazy then slow it down to about 7% for the "low framerate" type effect
I absolutely love this game, and for the same reason. Everything has a purpose. The gameplay is good, the horror aspects are actually scary to some extent, the music is absolutely amazing, the lore is juicy, and it fits what I'd call the modern Roblox aesthetic, which I absolutely adore. Amazing video essay man, it's insane how I keep finding high quality content made by ccs with such low subscriber count. Heavily underrated, kudos 💯
There was a moment on door 1, i heard some extremely loud footsteps and alt f4'd my way out of the game, never seen it again or before and i got so scared, i tough it was some entity or smt.
Lovely video! Side note, the maps in regards to deluge were taken down a long time ago now. A game in its honor called "Deluge Memories" was released that I believe can still be played. I vaguely remember the Deluge maps being where the character Nightfall originated from as well. Had to mention as a huge Deluge fan!
One thing about the paranoia aspect, I’m pretty sure that’s what is mainly adapted from identity fraud, but I like how game devs did it in their own way. In identity fraud, it feels like actual schizophrenia, because you always hear things even though there’s really nothing around you, you’re just walking through a maze of narrow hallways. And in pressure, the ambience instead makes the whole facility feel alive because of the amount of space, making you look out at every corner, like the facility is an entity itself
The audio enhances the horror. Like fnaf. You hear Foxy running in fnaf 1, you gotta shut the left door. You hear an angled coming, you gotta hide in a locker. They're very similar.
9:18 The name of the song that plays in this part of the game is literally "the part of the game where we throw everything at you", I think it's pretty self-explanatory.
1:36 pretty sure that GTFO has done that type of feeling already. You are inmates sent down to a abandoned mine shaft or smth to retrieve important items. You are not expected to return alive, hell they took it even further when the lore tells you that the equipment you are using are not standard issued weapons but repurposed mining tools which adds another layer of you being insignificant and expendable to the warden.
the room variety are by far my favourite part in yhe game cause some can you give you a sense of comfort to them IMMIDIEATLY see something you never eanted to see, like how i was walking through normally and stumbled into a room where theres people stuffed IN WEBS still alive and the spider that did this looking, i was afraid i was gonna get caught if strayed too far, thats what i liked about it
17:10 Omg, what if pressure was to make a sequel game of one of those companies, and the premise was that Sebastian finally got enough to make a deal with one of them. And the players are sent in to get him out (but the catch is Urbanshade won't let him go so easily)
I FINALLY beat the game last night. I don't know whether my small interest in creepy stuff helped but I felt it was the perfect balance of horror and gameplay. I got a very lucky run for once in my life and only died in the ridge when I was fighting against eyefest while also trying to find a locker from angler. I found a locker... AN ITEM LOCKER?!?!? thankfully i had revive tokens and reached the end! Also when the second searchlight appeared I was like "THERES TWO?!?!?!"
Pressure slightly reminds me of the game from the POV of the people to shut down chernobyl. We think it's scary going into a mission that we're almost guaranteed to fail, but imagine how those guys felt. I'm surprised it didn't take inspiration from the game, but I suppose that could be seen as disrespectful.
I think that doors could take a hint from pressure. It would be so cool that if in doors, you could rarely find a book on the floor, a table, or in a shelf, detailing the lore and abilities of that exact monster
Wouldn’t it make more sense for it to be told to you by Guiding Light? Here’s a combination of your idea and mine: You pick up a book, but it’s empty inside. Putting it in the Rift and taking it out will reveal the text inside, told from the perspective of Guiding Light.
I think Pressure has one of the most perfect sound deisgns ever, and also some of the most horrifying sounds too, Im not kidding when i say that the sounds have made me jump more the monsters sometimes. It freaks me out so bad thats one of reasons i love this game. Me and a freind were playing and we were passing window were liget heard KNOCKING on the window which made us both jump out of our skin, and just pause look at each other. Sometimes i hear running which scares the hell out of me and make me turn around because i thinks i a wall dweller running at me. And at time and can also make you feel a sense dread because you can actually other expendables getting murked, by turrets, dwellers, ect. I dont mean to make a pun hear but the sounds make you feel like your under pressure. JUST AUGH i love it, i also wanna add that theres a sense of hug the facility actually i like, it makes it feel really big compared to what your seeing (this is also thank to the sounds) but the design of the game also makes you know that the facility is extremely huge, and i love that to it almost make you feel Clatuphobic in a sense. I honselty love this game with all my heart and it grown to be a comfort game for me (oddly) just i think its really perfect and i xant wait to see more
For me, the horror and stress of Pressure morphed as my time with the game evolved. It began with fear of the unknown, having played Doors prior knowing the general rules, but not knowing what had changed, looking around frantically every time an unknown noise played or dying to a fake door because I didn't know how good people worked. But after learning the ropes and how to counter most threats, I no longer felt the fear until I made it super far into the game, where I felt scared simply because death meant I had a huge time sink that amounted to nothing. Made the victory feel all the sweeter when that weight was lifted.
I absolutely love Pressure. I just randomly found it one day while scrolling through Roblox, and believe me when I say, I fell in love with the game instantly. The stupid Wall Dwellers make me so uneasy, and the only reason I survived one for the first time was because of one of my brothers staying to spectate me when he died, and point out that something was behind me. Everything about the game is just so cool, well made, and scary, especially Pandemonium when you encouter him for the first time. The lore for all the entities, including the annoying as f*ck Squiddles, with them being transferred to Urbanshade not long before the lockdown, and being given the codename of "S-Q" rather than something like "Z-87" like the other entities have adds much more depth and lore to the game that makes you want to find out stuff like where the Squiddles originally came from.
Pressure for me is a mix of psychological horror and jumpscares because of the wall dwellers and the amount of sound cues in the game makes you always listen and react to every little ambience
I adore the editing in this video. Especially the “WHAT THE FU-“ during eyefestation and the “What do you mean you can’t see the picture on the left? Let me just turn on the lights- oh shIT-“ Really awesome touches dude!! Amazingly explained too
I like the angler having different variants, on of the core pillars of horror is being unpredictable, normal angler will come often but you will shit your pants when it's actually blitz or even pandemonium
BloxTop is a ref to my friends SCP type thing: ua-cam.com/video/xvlTXBEIl3I/v-deo.htmlsi=lC8glToRQzl9cg8V Deluge is a ref to a company from Before The Dawn, the game that got me into roblox horror. :)
17:08 Deluge labs are from the Aurek Team Universe. Aurek team is a dev community where they made the Before the Dawn, Overheat and A Pirates Tale Games. As of now, they are popularized because of Before the Dawn and Survive the Night. Deluge labs are located in the Deluge mountain where people were experimenting on certain stuff. One of those was Subject 0011 "Nightfall" The creature escaped and killed some scientiest. And a lil fun fact; Survive the Night's cabin layout and developer; Rachjumper, are easter eggs in this game! You can also hear a rare roar in the distance, Nightfalls.
I've never been one to play horror games because I'm always on edge, and I end up abandoning because the adrenaline and nightmares it gives me aren't worth it. BUT BRO, WITH PRESSURE? Common Ultrakill and pressure stuff:
1. Players always watching videos about how good their game is
2. Gianni voices one of the characters
3. BREAKCORE1!1!1!1!!1!1!1
4. Has something that's giant and its spinning
5. Fucking awesome games
Yeah, I didn't expect Gianni to be in a fucking Roblox game.

The reason this game keeps its scare factor for a long time is because you are constantly under "pressure"
Say that again
Fun Fact: The Ridge’s “Song” is called “The Part where we throw everything at you.” It’s a reference to portal’s “The Part where he kills you.”
Also u remind me of foekoe with ur editing
also the badge icon for the "oh those were the bad turrets werent they" badge literally has the aperture science icon on it, and it also resembles the aperture science style with the stickman on it
the painter ai line "I'm holding all the cards" Is directly quoting Wheatley
@@pablobigpopspretty sure it's also a reference for when wheatley tries to gun you down with the turrets but forgets that he helped you sabotage the turret production before
i havent seen any comments mention it but the subtitles and the edits are so insanely well done especially coming from a small channel

Currently working on a doors video essay rn
Especially the trenchbleeders
I also thought they took inspiration for the VAs and Voice Acting quality
(it's really good, in my opinion)
@@rexmaster8190 Gianni was the only voice actor who was based off of ultakill
@@QwerginMemes Oh, thanks for the clarification
the squiddles "turn in the light" bit was just perfect lol
I love the squiddles, they act like weird little angry cats.
The ultrakill part may be the panopticon and flesh prison easter eggs and maybe sebastians voice actoe being the same voice actor as Gabriel Ultrakill
Unlike some badges (Im looking at you, "This Badge Sucks")
But yeah, play Pressure it big fun

the base itself lies in a fictional trench to the west of Norway.
The total trench depth is something like 21,3 kilometers, and the base itself is 18,8 kilometres under sealevel.
And we can swim with ez
İn reality our player should ded because of the pressure

9:18 The name of the song that plays in this part of the game is literally "the part of the game where we throw everything at you", I think it's pretty self-explanatory.
the fact doors floor 2 droped weeks ago makes this wild because theres literally nothing scarier then a random giggle come at you.
And the players are sent in to get him out (but the catch is Urbanshade won't let him go so easily)
i personally think that in solo the scariest part is not knowing when you'll mess up
your editing reminds me of foekoes videos and I really like it, great video
i guess you could call me a distant foekoe disciple or something
I FINALLY beat the game last night. I don't know whether my small interest in creepy stuff helped but I felt it was the perfect balance of horror and gameplay. I got a very lucky run for once in my life and only died in the ridge when I was fighting against eyefest while also trying to find a locker from angler. I found a locker... AN ITEM LOCKER?!?!? thankfully i had revive tokens and reached the end! Also when the second searchlight appeared I was like "THERES TWO?!?!?!"
THERE IS 3?!
@ great idea I love it 👍
Honestly the thalasaphobia comment is hilarious when you find out it kicks you for it
I think Pressure has one of the most perfect sound deisgns ever, and also some of the most horrifying sounds too, Im not kidding when i say that the sounds have made me jump more the monsters sometimes. I honselty love this game with all my heart and it grown to be a comfort game for me (oddly) just i think its really perfect and i xant wait to see more
When me and bro started playing we gave the squiddles the nickname- BLACK MAN. It’s easy to say and is great for warning people they are there
For me, the horror and stress of Pressure morphed as my time with the game evolved.
