I love you two!! Sue, I go a loooong way back with you! I have a history of knitting &watched you & Chelsea on your knitting channel. But I have an even longer history of cross stitching….back to the 80’s. It pricked my heart to learn that you designed cross stitch back in the day…when I fell in love with cross stitch. I did a lot during the 80’s when my boys were young. But I stopped & became more involved with their activities as they grew older. Fast forward 30 plus years and I am watching you on your knitting channel. You had talked about how you used to design cross stitch. Then, on another episode you brought out the chart for A Saviors Praise. I was done! I decided to check out Flosstube, which was coming up on my UA-cam feed. I never looked back!! You were the queen enabler for me! I retired 2 years ago and have been TOTALLY engrossed in cross stitch since. But I have to say, you REALLY need to get back to Savior’s Praise,
Herrschners (spelling?) has in their catalog frame pieces. You order the set for the length of the sides and also the set for the width then I'm pretty sure you assemble it yourself. I think it was $15 each, so $30ish per frame. There were several frame styles.
I haven’t done cross stitch lately but I’m in the mood to do small designs while I watch a movie and I’m thinking of making them into Christmas tree ornaments that I could give with a Christmas card;)
Rachel, we are stitching twins, I’m also working on Kind & Gentle and Winter Rose Manor! Both are so fun and beautiful. Thank you both for showing your FO’s that aren’t FFO’ed… I know that you both felt badly about it; but many of us also have these piles of non-FFFO’ed stitches and it made me feel better! I think we should have a “Finally Finished February”! We can finish stitching projects that are close to being done and ALSO FFO our piles of FO’s! We’ll feel great in March 👍🥳. I signed up for your 18 ct club and I look forward to getting my fabric. Happy stitching everyone!

For Savior's Praise ... could you put a border under what you have done and make a long rectangle out of it? Then restart on a different stitch count. It's too large a piece to not enjoy doing it.

My 32-count linen arrived and I love it. Sue, I have a ballerina who started her profesh career in a small company. I remember overhearing a woman in front of me in the audience say, "Now, she's a real dancer". I wanted to lean over and tell her "That's my baby"! We're moms and we have permission to gloat! Maybe cut the pieces you aren’t in love with anymore and make them into drums or pincushions??🤷🏻♀️ McKenna has permission from the designers to reproduce these old oop pieces. The Jeannette Douglas freebie flower arrangements are freebies she has given to various groups for canceled events the past 1-2 years. I love the one big piece but I already have three of the bouquets stitched and finished as pillows and a needlebook so I think I’ll stitch mine as singles. 🌹 The linen club fabric is so very pretty!
My problem is that I'm so new to cross-stitch that I'm completely intimidated by EVERYTHING and so I'm afraid of making a mess of something and then "wasting" all the time/effort/resources. I know it's silly. I for one would have no problem "adopting" someone else's abandoned project to practice on.. but I wouldn't want the person who's giving up the project to feel bad if I butcher it because I'm not good.. know what I mean? It's risky for both parties unless there is a clear understanding that ownership, and thus the final result, are on the adopter not the original owner.
Hi Louise! Sorry for the delay Ooooh, I would stitch in Sue's Covered Bridge in 16 Ct Aida. For a 3 inch border, a Fat Quarter would do (or more precisely, a piece 10 x 17.)
