Yassss so relevant talking about these topics! Especially colourism,me being a multi mixed asian i used to be tanned but now im quite pale😂 and theres the questioning of what your supposed to look like depending on skin colour. And the body weight...asian mums tho 🤣💀 asians dont raisin Were all blessed just the way God made us🥰💖

@SailorEmilyCrystal He just let it grow each time it grows😅 he has alopecia because of stress but when he get better he let his hair grow, he seems to be in great shape now even his eyebrows cameback 😭
Welcome back Peniel to the podcast! So funny when BM and Junny were waiting in anticipation for what Ashley's theory on sports/fitness and relationship to growth is. A side note, I knew a body builder woman who explained to me that the tanning and body oil is done for everyone no matter how light or dark your skin tone is because it enhances the look of your muscles making your score higher.
Interesting, I always wondered about that whenever I would see body building pics or clips. I would be so confused as to why some would be so tanned and brown while competing yet super pale or not tanned or even brown for that matter while not competing.
@@Ayveh I wasn't sure about the reason behind the tanning prior to the conversation I had with the bodybuilder, but once it was explained to me, it made more sense.
I would watch an entire episode of the boys guessing women's products. Ashley laughing at them as they just went so into left field with some of the responses was also me. This was amazing 😂😂
Just letting people know that BBL surgery has the highest mortality rate for ANY cosmetic surgery (1/3000). This is something I wouldn't recommend to anyone and if you want a bigger butt just start squatting.
Hey, Dive family! Thank you for this episode, I think it's great to talk about all the subjects you touched on today. It makes me so sad to learn after it's already happened about all the terrible things kpop singers, and singers around the world, have been put through just to meet asthetic standards. I'm twenty-three and entering into the music field. I've always loved music, but I didn't learn how to sing or play instruments when I was a kid, so I'm starting a little later. I often feel like twenty-three is "too old" to be learning from scratch when the music industry wants only young people. I also sometimes feel very self-conscious because of the beauty standards. But at the end of every day, I love the body I've been given, and I don't want to surgically or chemically change it just to try to fit in with a company. It's just not me. I want to encourage anyone else out there who feels self-conscious, too, to love yourself as you are and continue pursuing your dreams.
Peniel knowing a lot of the female products is actually so sexy of him. I wish more men strives to be more like Peniel: these are all general knowledge of the human body; it's not a taboo thing to talk about!
Ok my daughter is a level 10 gymnast (Jr in HS) Joint issues are caused by impacts yes, but the delayed growth of bones has to do with the density of muscles. And most kids shoot up several inches as soon as they retire (if growth plates are not closed) so it’s called delayed maturity of bones (and you need to be training close to 24+ hours a week to get the delayed thing) plus, gymnastics favors short kids so you don’t see tall gymnasts that often.
Oh I couldn't take my eyes off BM's hair the whole episode. It's so cool. This episode was nice for sure , the whole cast is looking good . Welcome back Peniel .
The entertainment industry is very demanding regarding looks no matter where you go, but the Korean entertainment industry is on another level. What they do to men is brutal, but what they do to women is straight up CRIMINAL. I am VERY slender and I have tiny boobs. I workout hard 3 times a week and have almost no fat, it's mostly muscle, I'm a little over 5'3'' (161.5 cm) and I weigh 55 kg. There is NO healthy way for a woman that is 5'6'' or 5'7'' to be under 50kg, especially if they have a good size bust like many kpop idols do...
I agree with Junny that people view us Millenials and Gen Z as old. I am like we are that not old. It mostly why we don't use social media that much as we use to in the past.
From an American POV: the USA (and West) suck in a ton of ways, many are the same as SK, but man the beauty standards in SK are just turned up to 11 it seems. It's such a massive turn-off as someone who consumes SK content. Heroine chic being the body type that is in, the colorism against darker skin tones, the massive amount of plastic surgery/beauty procedures, the AWFUL veneer getting trend (curious to see if they mention it in this episode, I'm only half way through), the
I was telling my daughters, we are all Kpop fans and Asian dramas fans. That Asians try to show off their beauty but they are getting surgery to look like another nationality. Smaller faces, pointy slimmer noses, pale skins, contacts, bleached or lighter hair, Like makes no sense.
@@IllaLuna17 it's not that they're ashamed or anything of being Asian they're just trying to fit the standards. Alot of countries have exact same standards
@@IllaLuna17 they do not want to look like another nationality, leave that tired take back in 2010. What they want to achieve is a specific kind of *very Korean* beauty, and they’ve just slowly added standards to that image that the western world adopted with the rise of the Kardashians (like a focus on having a shapely butt instead of just being thin). Korean beauty standards are still more similar to Chinese ones, which are still more comparable to Arabic standards (pale, slender) than European. It’s an unreal image that’s unattainable for the average Korean, but it’s even less attainable for your average westerner because it’s not a beauty ideal based on western features.
IUD is an intrauterine device or commonly called a spiral, shaped like the letter T. It is inserted into the vagina without anesthesia. Depending on the pain tolerance of each person, it can vary, but many say it hurts and aches. Like menstrual pain but worse because the vagina is not opened naturally. But IUD is really recomend to use because its not effect hormonal on women, not like pills or implant and you can use it to 3/5/ 10 years old deppends on what brand you use
It's crazy how they were talking about plastic surgeries as something they wouldn't do and were shocked to learn that certain procedures even exist, yet they went on to mention having some work done lmao
To what I have heard, they just don't want surgeries that required bone restructuring to be normalized. Besides, the procedure that they have undergone was just a removal of excess fats under their eyes that makes them look tired. There is nothing that modified their actual features.
the skin tone discussion makes me have flashbacks to when hyunsik avoided the camera in b+ diary because his face was covered in white lmaoooooooooooooooo
The reality is that many guys go to the gym and super work out because they think girls like it when they have a lot of muscle, but actually most girls don't find it attractive, muscular and lean would be best for most women. Cause if you are huge like bodybuilders it doesn't look healthy either.
I know the current ones are part of a deal and trend. Tho also partially of aesthetics. But I remember an episode from Boss in the Mirror, I think the Esteem NYC ep, where Coach Hyun mentioned that it’s beneficial for basketball players to paint their nails (even if it’s just the clear ones).
When Ashley said ..."Well I'm gonna show you " reminded me of that one episode where BM was like ...." Well I'm gonna get you a Rollie " to his friends in LA
It’s so interesting that Korean culture is to flaunt your wealth (eg. Wearing brands so openly). I more would be thinking they are like mid tier wealthy trying to show themselves as super rich if they did that because I think at least in my culture if you are actually wealthy it’s rude to show it off and also what are you trying to prove? True wealthy people just dress well.
Am I the only one who thinks it´s already a statement that everybody on the Podcast here had multiple beauty surgeries even though everyone here has a pretty open minset and are pretty critical of the unreallistic beauty standards . I´m from Europe and I don´t think I know a single person who had any beauty related surgery 🤔 F**** beauty standards are a thing in the west too for sure but from what they are saying it feels way more ingrained in Korea.
Where did you see that all of them have had cosmetic surgeries? I'm pretty sure none of them have had cosmetic surgeries. Their faces all still fit American beauty standards more than Korean beauty standards. I'm sure some of them for their work get skin treatments or injections like Ashley mentioned but that's not surgery

hearing them briefly talk about birth control and sex was so surprising yet refreshing lol thank u for staying real yall
I love how also the boys are so honest with what they had done beauty treatment wise!
The skin tone thing is prominent and has the same origins in the black community too! I didn't know we relate on this. The more you know
In Asia it's classism then Racism. In the US it's Racism then classism.
@@kingmanic yepp
@@kingmanicI don’t think it’s racism, it’s colourism. They’ll do it against their own race too.
it used to be similar in the uk too, until being tanned meant you were rich enough to afford to go on holiday someplace sunny
origins are not the same. dark skin is seen as masculine and light skin as feminine in the black community. nothing like that is found in korea.
