A dark, abandoned pumping facility. A grimdark canvas to build upon and expand. Any ideas ? Shoot !
Oh and subcribe ! It’s important !
A drop pod! Maybe on a terrain base?
What about a conveyor belt to dump stuff into the sludge pool? What about holding cells for mutants? What about a giant crane? Anything industrial will go well with this set piece you created. Top notch, mate.
wandelingetje in Gentse havengebied om inspiratie op te doen? :-) Iets met grote kranen
Maybe a fishing spot for underhive mutants. God (and you) knows what they fish from there. Could be expanded to a local mutant "settlement", with a few shack structures for homes and food stalls. Futurama style, just,well...more grimdark.
I know it probably doesn't fit into Warhammer at all, but I'd love to see your take on an abandoned Railway freight yard/engine shed, with a rusting Locomotive as the centre piece and maybe a monster living within....
That front magnetized wall is awesome
Have to expand on that idea, Thanks for watching!
Really nice, like when terrain has a good amount of height.
Ditto !
I think a Rogue Doc building would be cool to see
More necromunda themed scenery coming !
realy cool!
bengemations Thank you !
That's a great looking terrain piece. Thank you for sharing. Love the "improvised using electrical wire to simulate electrical wire. Imagination knows no bounds"
😉 thanks !
i like that you repurpose the drone rotors, i have some computer fans i might repurpose for something similar, thanks
Yep, those work aswell, have fun !
i dont play warhammer but i love these videos, they help me alot in making 3d scenes because i struggle with scene building. very thankful!
Thank you ! 3d scenes for ?
@@DarkMatterWorkshop just for fun! i enjoy the low risk of making digital 3d scenes because no material is lost if you mess up
Digital does have great advantages.
Enjoy future content 😉
very grim love it from across the pond
Thank you
Nice work and a great vid. Another source for chain is cheap costume jewelry. Charity shops and budget clothing stores normally have a good selection to choose from.
Thanks ! Haven’t had much luck finding chains to scale, usually they’re too large.
Good tip !
@@DarkMatterWorkshop yeah, it can be tricky, especially these days as most places a closed due to lockdown (here in the UK any way)
Waiting eagerly for building two.
Coming.....
It's really good, it's great to see how the old classics are stil excellent building materials. But the end result is too clean, in my opinion, then again it would be easy to add some grime, wear and rust. Also tealights are the new hotness.
Yes ! But there are good reasons why i don’t wheather extensively. (Check out my other industrial pieces and they all share that characteristic of ‘cleanliness’)
Keep following and all will be clear. 😉
Your work is amazing. I am glad I discovered your channel.
Thanks! Glad to have you.
Looks awesome mate, nice tutorial as always
Thanks mate !
Your creativity is impressive this turned out great!
Thank you !
Great detail work, nice concept. Very clean work. Love it
Thanks !
That is a really cool build Gert!
Thanks man !
Superb. Good to see you back.
Thank you !
Ah ah typhus corrosion my favourite. Nice build 👌😎 regards fred
I’m out typhus corrosion, time for a cheaper alternative.
Another video from.dark matter workshop, jay!! Thank you
Thank you !
The toy crane for the girder structure pieces has been worth its weight in gold!
For real ! Still have a bunch so expect more 😉
Great job, very interesting nd inspiring. Well done.
Thanks !
Awesome as always. I have been experimenting with cardboard tubes and found that a sheet of plain paper cut to size and stuck on with Mod Podge covers up the telltale spiral lines. Nonetheless this is a great bit of terrain - cant wait to see whats next.
Good tip ! I decided to not bother this time.
After all those years I know you, you keep amazing me brother.
Thanks mate !
I'm a huge fan of this project, it looks amazing. An idea I get from looking at it is maybe a gang of some sort has been using a portion of this facility as their own, perhaps using the waste pool as a form of torture and punishment with dipping cages.
Thanks ! Awesome idea !
You deserve more subs. Awesome work
Thanks !
This piece is looking good, man. Excited to see more from you :)
Thanks ! Next week !
Fantastic results! The amount of detail you put into these scratch builds is amazing! Cant wait to see the finished product
Thanks man !
Keep doing videos! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next! Thanks
Something wholesome ! 😏
ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER BRILLIANT BUILD! YOU NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME. THANKS GERT.
Thanks !
NICE
Thanks !
I know you've got at least two big fans...General Rid Stump!!!
Love the modular nature of your builds. They make for fluid play
Modular all the way !
Been in love with this project since the first photos you teased on Instagram. Can't wait to see how it will look with all the buildings in place.
You're an inspiration!
Me neither 😂, thank you !
Great job, man. If you're looking to add extra industrial greeble then cable ties work a treat.
Nice work on the editting, everything looks professional. I'm working on my next vid just now: 'Industrial Pipe-line', hopefully will have it released tomorrow
Looking forward to it.
Another great video, thanks Gert. I cannot wait to see the facility in it's whole finished glory, it will make one heck of a centrepiece. If I may make a suggestion, rather than wasting all your good acrylic rod on making rivets have a look into obtaining a cheap diamond painting kit. They are approximately the same size but are bevelled in a hex shape. They also come with a precision applicator to make accurate placement simple and easy. One kit usually has thousands of these little beads a lifetimes supply of terrain rivets.
Oh yes, should look epic !
Great tip regarding rivets ! I’ll keep an eye out .
@@DarkMatterWorkshop they really do look great. I happened upon them by chance as my partner had a whole bunch of spares from a kit she had previously put together. Naturally as a scratch builder I jumped at the opportunity to snag some free materials.
Great work, am looking forward to seeing the next piece :)
Thank you !
Epic, homes. I really like this. It goes with your sludge pool really well. I'm sure you actually designed it that way, now that I think about it. Your commentary always makes me laugh: "Thank you very much." My daughter provides me with terrain building material through her mishaps as well. Keep making these videos. Cheers, --Bo
You keep watching, and i’ll keep making 😉
It looks great! This was a great tutorial with a lot of very helpful techniques. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching !
Incredible job @_@
Thank you !
Waiting to see more new buildings. Hi from spain
What about some landing plataform or a magnetic rail ?
This project is coming along nicely! What more types of buildings are you planing on adding? There's so much potential for fun creations here!
Looking forward to seeing this project grow mate! :)
Thanks man ! Have a couple of ideas but nothing set in stone.
needs MORE I beams :) to add some volume to the air intake fans.
Other than that it's awesome as always :)
Hope You and your family are well!
All well ! Hope the same goes for you.
finally!
Finally what ?!
@@DarkMatterWorkshop finally a new waste facility video :) I'm glad that you didn't abandon the project!
Oh no ! I’m having too much fun ! Next couple of vids will all be 40k/necromunda inspired.
You use black foamcore here. I am guessing you are Dutch or Belgian. If you're Dutch, Kwantum has ondervloer stuff called maclean ondervloer comfort super 5mm which is dirt cheap and practically the same as foamcore. Could be worth checking out.
Good tip, Thanks!
We have Kwantum in Belgium too.
@@DarkMatterWorkshop No problem. It's not entirely the same, it has different qualities but it is cheap. While it is slightly weaker it is easier to etch in details such as stonework. Here is a link to a dungeon I did with it: leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=112634.15
Van Ecke backdrop, sets the scene, by the way, "Alice" didn't happened to fall into that slippery "facility" by accident did she?
Nope, the sky is a backdrop i painted. I think she’s fine 🤔😬
@@DarkMatterWorkshop oh!!! You paint stormy seascapes...So, I guess a stranger pushed her in on porpoise, or was it on a dolphin?
you painted the $h!t out of that, very well done sir
Thanks !
Loool, remembers me a lot the edification that you can see in Halo Reach in the mountains... (u can get ideas from that if u want ^^).
I'm have a question, u use for the sepia wash oil paints or acrilic ones :o
Oh yeah, lot’s of games to draw inspiration from !
In this case acrylics, but i use shellac and oil based too.
@@DarkMatterWorkshop Ohh thanks a lot for the fast answer. I'll get a try to that shellac oil too
Amazing work. Makes me want to finally use those pringle containers that I have stored up. Was the aquila a mold or did you legit make that from scratch? If so how haha
Thanks ! It’s cast from a mold, i show how in this video : ua-cam.com/video/bPIPSaMEK_Q/v-deo.html
Wish I had enough space to make some terrain :'(
Place to make or store ?
@@DarkMatterWorkshop Store mostly, live in a tiny flat and already have a lot of other hobbies taking up space :P
It’s a problem lot’s of ppl struggle with, i feel a theme for a vid. coming up.
Lol imagination knows no bounds
😏
you sound a little Dutch!
I’m Belgian soo... yeah 😉
another nice project
but the music is horrible :P
😛
Still don't understand down votes on this sort of youtube post - didn't it fit your ideology? If it was an "off-click" because you've had a slight refreshment - that I can run with, but - wtf?
Don’t sweat it 😉 Thanks for watching.
@@DarkMatterWorkshop I've edited it because I'd had said mentioned refreshments and it didn't fully work in a grammar type way - well, I've had more refreshments and what ever! post more stuff while I'm unable to work. Keep up the spirit we need.
