Tupac is an extremely interesting individual because he covers so many different bases. His breadth and depth are unparalleled. He is underestimated and misunderstood even by his biggest fans. I often hear the claim, when people speak on his technicality, that his lyrics are often simple and leave not much for thought but I couldn't beg to differ more. He literally chooses to simplify his lyrics and goes the subtle route. He prioritizes getting his message across over pompous self-aggrandizing. I watch people's reactions to his songs but it's extremely rare to find a reaction that doesn't miss a great deal of depth, technical or otherwise, because he can be very subtle. He rarely takes the overt technical route, unlike other rappers such as Nas, Eminem, Kool G Raps, etc. His technicality also extends past the lyrics such as in his delivery (which I believe he's the best in). This video by E.D.I. Mean, a close friend of Tupac and a member of the same group Outlawz, mentions this in little detail: ua-cam.com/video/OiXsJHQNvVo/v-deo.html
Not only that, but he is as much a human being as us. He can be very contradictory, and impulsive, and he himself would tell you that if you were to talk to him because he is more aware of his flaws than others probably are. Worse even is that people on the internet never stop mischaracterizing him and talk about him as if they knew him more than they actually did. I myself have probably participated in such mischaracterization albeit inadvertently. You hear so many stories about him, and some contradict established facts or other stories about him. He is literally so mythologized and people study him and his environment like lore. There are entire channels diligently dedicated to his lore such as DJ Vlad, The Art Of Dialogue, and many others but those two are the most high profile. DJ Vlad literally solved the investigation of his death and compiled the facts better than anyone else.
Tupac was also about what he preached. And although I disagree with some of his messaging such as in the case where he flaunts his jewelry and wealth, he genuinely cared and was even in the Young Communist League in his high school years, which corroborates his many vocalizations about the redistribution of wealth, along with his obvious connection to The Black Panthers. Tupac used to let homeless people live in his mansions... What other artist does that? He wanted to spark a revolution but was cut short by his assassination. He is an imperfect person and probably would agree that the flaunting of his wealth goes against what he stands for and would consider not doing it. He did so much wrong but also so much good. He was an outspoken feminist and a macho street dude (Anyone who claims Tupac wasn't a street dude doesn't know what they're talking about even if they were close to him). Although seemingly macho, he was extremely empathetic. He would cry if you told him about your struggles. He literally cried upon hearing Napoleon's (Outlawz member) life story in front of him. Mutah Beale (Napoleon) watched his parents get killed in front of him as a toddler. Tupac could've been so much more and it saddens me how much of his potential was wasted even in his early years he was his self-coined proverbial rose that grew from concrete. So damaged yet so beautiful.
"They ask us why we mutilate each other like we do
And wonder why we hold such little worth for human life
To ask us why we turn from bad to worse, is to ignore from which we came
You see, you wouldn't ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged petals
On the contrary, we would all celebrate its tenacity
We would all love its will to reach the sun
Well, we are the roses (we are the roses)
This is the concrete (this is the concrete)
And these are my damaged petals (these are my damaged petals)" - Tupac Amaru Shakur on "Mama´s just a little girl"
There are very few people like this in recorded history. He will be cemented as one of the greatest musicians and characters and will be known eternally. I bet with everything I love that you will not find more murals or graffitis dedicated to an artist other than him. I'm Arabic, and I've seen his name and face on more walls than I can count even in countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, UAE, and probably every country in Africa and Europe. How can a human being captivate the hearts of people living in cultures that are contrastingly alien to the one in which he lived? He is an enigma, more than a musician. I could never give his impact its due consideration.

This comment was incredible, thank you so much for sharing. I agree that he was misunderstood and that, yes, he made mistakes but he was human and did ALOT of good. I definitely feel a deep connection with him as many people around the world do. Thanks again for taking the time to watch & leave this comment, it’s very much appreciated🙏🏼

Gorgeous!! I think the EXACT SAME!! Thank you for this! Coz I would have ended up writing pretty much the exact same things. Saved me the time 💃🏽!! And you can only get to this kind of thinking when you REALLY FEEL TUPAC. With Tupac it isn't even what you see, it's a connection, a feeling thing. And ofc the perspective you have is great on money, on his empathy and on his contradictory nature. It is amazing that you hit these points. And he was one of the best human beings on this earth because of all those sides to him. So blessed that he was recorded. I am always heartbroken about his death. It's crazy.

Yeah the one with the cigar in the red suit is Suge Knight. The Manager and Owner of Death Row records. This song is more Mob oriented to the streets and not more with the original Pac. Pac started out more political but once he got shot in New York he changed and understandably so. See Pac was Born in Harlem and lived his earlier life in New York but they had to keep moving because of who his mother was as a Black Panther. So Moved a lot and stayed in New York, Baltimore, Jungle Marian City and Oakland. Oakland is were the Black Panthers were Formed in 1966 and then they started to spread across the nation into Big Predominately Black Cities. Listen to "My Block" the original song from "The Show" Soundtrack not the remix version and he will explain this at the end of the Song also on his "Lost Vibe Interview in 1996".

1/If you need help understanding the speaking part, look it up. The part where he says, "he's my enemy, so she looked alright," refers to him claiming in "Hit 'Em Up" that he "f*cked your [Biggie's] wife," and when he talks about how "they locked his ass up for m*rder" refers to Snoop's m*rder case Trap Lore Ross has a video on it.
2/ You need to see the music video that goes with this; the beginning is amazing!

@@journeymariereacts 2Pac is officially 5'11 and that's literally on his mugshot. It's just that Snoop Dogg is tall as fuck (6'4) and so is Suge Knight (Around 6'3).
Any other height claim is pure speculation. Some say the mugshot heights are inaccurate because they're apparently always with shoes on but 2Pac doesn't wear heels obviously. If he's shorter than 5'11, he has to be at least 5'10 or 5'10.5.
Don't guess people's heights by how they look around others because you're bound to get them wrong.
