Tupac is my favorite rapper and he deserved better. His life can’t just be put into a 2 hour movie. It needs to be a 8-10 episode miniseries. On Netflix, Hulu or whatever. Great reaction MJ
I definitely agree
Dear Mama documentary was phenomenal
It needs to be as long as Snowfall, BMF, or the Wire at LEAST😤
The dudes that produced the movie were New Yorkers. I will always believe they intentionally sabotaged it to ruin Pac's legacy. Unfortunately Afeni didn't vet them when she gave them permission.
It Could Be Put Into A 2hr Movie But The Entertainment Business Don’t Care About Good Storytelling…A Miniseries Would Probably Be Worse
It always baffled me how one of the greatest rappers got the worst biopic 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Sidenote: U should really listen to Brenda's Got A Baby. Its a real powerful song.
😂 so true
That's because someone else
Did the Bio (Not Pac or his Mother)
Just like Biggie and Aaliyah
But bios like NWA and TLC
The actual NWA and TLC did the Bio
Biggies mom was involved with his movie
It came on last night, and it got worse over time 👑💯😂🤦🏾♂️
the best bio pic\ documentary on Tupac is still Tupac Resurrection. it is the most comprehensive telling about his life. it was released in movie theaters in 2002; told in his own words. Tupac was already a superstar before he was murdered so, he was always in front of a camera they compiled enough interveiws to tell his life story in his own words. it was great!!!i never understood why this movie was made. you mioght want to react to that
Real talk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So true
0 interest, 0 thoughtful storyline, 0 immersion....this is NOT how Pac wanted his legacy to be carried :(
And Pac told you this?
Exactly. 🤦🏿♂️
@@rockyward6758 no but I’m sure if pac wanted a movie about himself this wouldn’t be it…AT ALL. The movie as I’m watching with MJ just jumps to events and doesn’t even try to actually tell the story. So bite me bozo 🤡
@@onlyonem0llyy bite you?
XD@@rockyward6758
Look at how they massacred my boy 😢
If you want to see a good 2pac movie watch resurrection
Cb4
I agree!
This was how I felt when I watched it too. It was like they rushed through everything and only brushed the surface of every topic. The movie either needed to be longer or they needed to choose to leave out some events so that they could spend time elaborating on some things.
Like those few scenes with Jada, cauz she said most of the stuff that was in this movie about them 2 never happened
My problem is pac gave the world everything they needed to tell his story. And they STILL fumbled.
They fumbled because two white dudes made this film
@@SupportGamin2024 Yoo bro i be seeing u on the power comments
RIGHT! be tbh you don't need to make a movie cause you have like a hundred documentarys on the man that are waaaaay better than this shit Ressurected and Dear Mama come to mind
That "House of Blues Scene" was theatrical. He actually opened up at that same show for "Snoop Dogg". Timeline for this is July of 96. There's a DVD for it called, "House of Blues Death Row"
Mutulu Shakur wasn't a criminal, he was a powerful voice within the black community.
Was a part of the Black Liberation Army. 👑💯
Yeah she gotta do her research on the black panther party and COINTELPRO lol
Exactly
LMAO, dude was convicted of robbery and murder, he was very much a criminal. I swear black people love to play the victim and act like "they didnt do nuthin" ... Still seeing the same ridiculousness today with the BLM scam movement 😂
RIP Mutulu Shakur 🙏
The late John Singleton on Breakfast Club was right. He should have directed it.
John was mad at Pac because Pac called him a coward. John Singleton was going to screw the movie up. They could have gotten someone else though.
Never thought Pac nor Biggie were better than each other I thought they were equal and I was a huge Death Row fan from Cali. Cant be bias on these two legends.
The movie “Freedom Writers” Must watch, inspiring and motivational movie about a racism war
I definitely agree !!
I agree
Another Sidenote: snoop Dogg’s character sounds like him, because Snoop Dogg actually voiced him lol snoop Dogg recorded the lines and dubbed it over the movie. That’s why they usually didn’t show Snoop Dogg on the screen while he was talking or if they did the mouth didn’t really match 100% with the voiceover.
The movie acting probably wasn’t the best but the story wasn’t bad
Their stepfather was actually a black panther. A lot of them were arrested just for being in the Black Panther movement that’s why he was arrested. I’m just letting you know I’m not trying to be mean by the way.lol
VH1’s Dear Moma tells the prefect story of Tupac and his mom’s relationship. Good watch
The docuseries they did on fx about tupac and his mom is definitely worth a watch. It takes the time to really tell their story. Also involves people actually important to them.
Yes,this movie shoulda been that
I feel like they should’ve humanized pac more. They missed that. Talk more bout his time in New York. Talk about how when his mother would be gone, he would interact with tv shows so he wouldn’t feel so lonely when he was home alone. Talk about his time in Baltimore more. *Talk about his theatre chops, talk about his ballet performances and dispel the idea that he was gay for falling in love with the arts ,particularly ballet. Show how he often longed for a family due to his former black panther roots n he tried to find it anyway he could. *Talk about how this made him feel like he had to go above n beyond to prove how much he cared for people in hopes they’d accept him as their family. *
Talk about his ties to Marin and how they treated him like a an outsider. *Talk about his Bay Area roots more
Keep in mind these are points before he even turned 20
Definitely and also talked about how he was staying with a white woman that looked at him like a student
@@91Definite they mentioned that in this but they could’ve went into detail with the books they studied.
@@SoundBiteInc-I agree, I think she was on some witchcraft stuff though
Tupac resurrection is much better it’s a documentary but it tells his story better
Agreed
That’s because it’s mostly all Tupac talking in that doc
Lmfao when u watched straight outta Compton I said “man jus wait till she watch All Eyez On Me…She gon hate it”🤣🤣💯
I’m a 2Pac fan but I honestly hate how they told his story in this movie the way they did it
snoop did speak on this, look up his interviews
They basically stole Spike Lee script for Malcolm X and just changed the name, and wrote 2Pac 😂
This biopic needs a redo, and they need to get they resources right
They need to make it into a series next time tho in order to capture his life the right way i feel
John Singleton was the man for the job, sadly he’s no longer here
Best way to tell Tupac’s story would have to be a series. In order to cover everything in depth
"Ray" & ""Coal Miners Daughter" are great biopic movies!! u should watch those!
I only watched this ONE time in the theater. ONCE.
His name means “Warrior, messenger”. He really was a brave warrior and a messenger. Rest In Peace to him, he died so young. He will forever be missed. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Watch Hardball, trust me. And it’s based in Chicago.
Side note: They know who killed Biggie. Everyone should know by now that Poochie was the Hitman that took out Biggie…along with so many other people. Poochie was killed years ago.
Pac's life was very interesting. This movie didn't do it justice. It should really be a miniseries.
His Step Dad wasn't a criminal he was apart of the black panther party & Tupac was his government name
The girl was Kidada Jones, daughter of Quincy Jones. She was in Las Begas with Tupac when he was shot and died.
The scary guy in prison 😂Clifton Powell is actually Big Smoke from GTA San Andreas he also made appearances in Rush Hour, Menace 2 Society, Next Friday, Norbit. 2Pac's IDGAF was also featured in the OG version of San Andreas. Sending love from Botswana❤Love your content
2 fun facts
1 the same guy who played Suge from straight outta Compton is the same guy on this movie and Surviving Compton
2 Tupac was supposed to be On higher learning but due to the unfortunate events Omar Epps got the role also Leonardo DiCaprio was gonna play remy on that movie but that didn't work so they eventually got Michael Rapaport
Feel like the issue was this movie was for folks who already know everything about Pac. Yess its rushed and didnt go too in depth but not a horrible movie
and Tupac's name really is his name and it has strong meaning
Please do a reaction to the New Edition movie, it's a little longer because it's three parts to it like a mini series but it is so good especially if you're familiar with the group New Edition...
You can watch pac interviews and he literally gives you what you need to know bro.
That is actually Snoop Dogg dubbing his monologue, the actor NEVER said a word out of his mouth. Very stupid.
Plus, he NEVER perform "Hail Mary" live in his lifetime and Jada said he never read the poem to her until she found out when all of his poems were published as a book years later and never argue with him backstage.
Tupac: Resurrection (2003) is a WAY BETTER telling because Tupac tells his own story than this crap.
“He sounds like Snoop”. Yeah it’s because Snoop Dogg actually dubbed that actor’s lines himself. They couldn’t even get an actor good enough to play Snoop to where they needed to get the ACTUAL person to speak the lines lmao
😂😂 I Swear When We First Watched This Movie In The Theaters Back In 2017 Seeing Actor Snoops Face For The First Time Had Everybody In The Theaters Laughing Like Crazy Cuz He Looks Nothing Like The Real Snoop Dogg None Whatsoever
The actor who played Snoop Dogg, that wasn’t his real voice that was a voice over
Terrible
lol you gotta do some research on the black panther party. When you’ve done proper research I suggest watching Judas and The Black Messiah
For see a Tupac story done right, watch Tupac: Resurrection. In his own words from all the interviews he’s done throughout the years.
I think they just tried to shove the main parts of his life that most people knew about in such short amount of time. Which to me would be impossible and the only people who could appreciate it somewhat are the one's who knows a lot about him and what went on. So I could see how you may be a little confused after watching this without knowing much about him.
I'm about to go on a mini-rant, so I apologize, but this movie is literal doodoo water. They made a movie about Pac assuming the audience knows everything about Pac. Which is fine, but the signature moments were presented SO POORLY that the people who actually are familiar with Pac were like "What the hell is this?!" The problem is that Tupac is WAY too dynamic and deep of a man to condense his life into a movie. 50 Cent, Biggie, Eminem, NWA...the interesting parts of their lives can be condensed into a couple of hours. PAC? His story was interesting from contraception (literally, since his mom was pregnant with him in jail) all the way to his death and beyond. They skimped out on SOOO many important moments. They barely, if at all, covered the time he spent in the Bay Area, which was extremely instrumental to his development. Like, a movie about a man who was murdered in his mid 20s shouldn't be "This movie is so bad that it's funny", but it is, and that's a shame. Also, I don't care what anyone says, this dude does not look like Tupac. He looks like someone made a Tupac Wii Character. And I don't know if you noticed, the dude who played Snoop Dogg is actually not speaking. They dubbed over his voice with lines from the real Snoop Dogg. Yeah...imagine being that actor lol.
His rise to fame was pretty fast, he accomplished so much before the age of 25.
I know a bunch of people who LOVES Pac but didn't like this movie
Me personally I'm no Pac Fan
But it's supposed to be an untold Story
But this movie isn't nothing that we already knew about him
@@mikeg4960
I play his Music
But he wasn't my cup of tea
Truth be told idk but not on no
Hating stuff because I love his
Movies but I don't play his songs like that
@@mikeg4960she probably from New york
Tupac and Biggie is my favorite rappers 2
28:53 I think it's the filmography with not capturing the vibe right, making the movie and shots feel epic to emphasize the status Tupac was about.
15:30 was literally the best part of this movie.
Pac NEVER performed Hail Mary. Hail Mary came out after he died.
Using a iPhone in a 2pac movie was crazy
I'm 1 of the biggest pac fans ever, and I just watch this once... Now twice cus of you MJ.
I brought "Tupac's resurrection" on DVD. That's the PAC story I watch PAC is narrating it from his own words. Not a biopic.
You should check out, "Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le".
This movie seemed like it was rushing through time instead of flowing, and the acting wasn't good. 2pac way of thinking wasn't shown in the movie, as most know he's a retrospective thinker and community oriented. It didn't show the positive of Pac. Snoop Dogg also dissed Biggie on a rap song so Pac and DR were shocked. Snoop admitted to being shot at because of what Biggie said that triggered dudes in New York. Snoop played both sides because he got scared. It's LT Hutton's fault this movie was missing elements. Like what one dude said watch Resurrection if you want to know about Pac.
I love Tupac a lot & watching this movie kinda made me feel disrespected in a way. But, you’re reaction kept me in. Also, I think they dubbed Snoop’s voice in with the actor. It was driving me insane, also I would recommend Boomerang & The Golden Child. Two of my favorite funny Eddie Murphy movies ❤💙
Few things here:
1. This movie isn’t bad but if y’all wanted them to touch on everything about Tupac it would be a 6-7 hour movie
2. Snoop Dogg talks about him and Pac all the time. He told stories about visiting him on his deathbed. Tells stories of them just hanging out
3. Suge Knight was shot that night as well. He was grazed on his head
4. As of today one of the men responsible of Tupac’s death is now in prison. The actual gunman died 20 years ago. Ironically he was shot and killed too.
Tupac is my favorite rapper next to biggie but this biography on his life was terrible I know he rolling over in his grave right now but I am glad that they have the guy that played biggie in here nice review love the video MJ stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
you should react to tupac's docu series "dear mama" 10 episodes, thats really gonna make you connect to him... and i promise u, you'll b crying your eyes out... no cap
Hii MJ 😊 you gotta watch Boomerang with eddie murphy and martin lawrence! funny movie.
Granted the movie sucks at telling the story but Mutulu was not a criminal. He was an revolutionary and acupuncturist weaning heron addicted soldiers off (in those days the hospital would give you methylene as a ‘replacement’). He was also a member of the black liberation army. In order to fund the ‘survival programs’ (like schools with free breakfast before America have kids free breakfast, doctors, taxis etc…) they would rob banks (federally insured money). You should research the black panthers and BLA. Mutulu, Afeni Shakur led the panther 21 trial, Assata got into a shootout with police (well, they shot at her wounding her in the armpit) and Mutulu broke her out the pen. When you was saying you can’t just ‘give up’ on your kids cause Afeni was sending Pac to Cali she sent him to live with the ex minister of defense Geronimo Pratts family. Dude gotta probably thee most interesting life but he still got hella powerful enemies. They’ve been shitting on Pac ever since Eminem was allowed to produce his album and play with his vocals (shouting out 50 cent)… but that’s Dre… Benny Boom too
Man is messed up that Tupac was dead before Biggie's murdered but at least that they got a chance to go live the smallest of their life
I just realized when I watched Tupac’s actual clip with the orange outfit, he didn’t do the fighting. Meaning they kinds got a few things wrong. Maybe I COULD be wrong, or I could be right.
That jacket fire! 🔥
Tupac is has Actual name Tupac Amari Shakur
Amaru, not Amari
His rap name he started out wit MC New York bc he’s from New York but knowing dat his name is Tupac he changed his rap name to 2pac
I can’t wait to really sit here and deadass write down all the shit they missed in this damn movie cuz it pissed me tf off when it first came out
It's a lot 😂 you need a couple pieces of paper
@@mexia23 BRO! I named so much before pac even turned 20 that they missed it’s ridiculous

Cool movie reaction 🔥
Sidenote #3 - That photo that was taken before 2pac got shot was the last photo taken of him. Pretty famous photo. It was actually taken by an old classmate of his that he went to improve school with. Pac recognized him and said it was cool for him to take the pic
Great review! Hated this movie too though 😂. Shug did get shot in his head.
Fuck this movie. It only focuses on the media driven beef that took Tupac's Life. In reality at the end of his life Tupac after making All Eyes on Me, and Don Killuminati, Pac was working on One Nation. An album, where, he would have had Biggie, half of Bootcamp Click, His outlaws click from the west coast. Snoop Dogg, Nas Gangstar, Big Daddy Kane, The Roots OutKast, and Scarface. It was a project to unite hip hop, like what was going on in the ealrly 90s, and they could all get money together. It's the media depictions that keep people stuck in the narratives that 2pac was antagonistic and against the world. He was way more nuanced than that. Fuck Puff, the LA police, and the informant that was sitting in the One Nation recording sessions. That's why there is so much love for him after he died. He's way more than the media, or this dumbass movie will tell you. Great reaction.
To add to The One Nation story, it was joint venture between Duck Down (Bootcamp Click) Tupac's own record label. And the proposed Death Row East. Deathrow left Pac Death Broke. He had no money to himself. No wealth that wasn't tied to the industry. This was a chance to see some generational wealth. The project is dope what you can find online. He was also about to marry Quincy Jones Daughters, and was getting taught about the idea of management, and owning your stuff. Suge also was getting Pac to try to branch out and take Bad Boys shine with the proposed Death Row East. This caused some tension for sure. Yet again it's about making great music. Shame people can't sit in a room and make some incredible shit.
Honestly, I can agree with MJ, the movie scenes were too short, and if they were longer, we would’ve gotten a better view on pac’s life. Y’know? But the songs were great ❤❤❤
Best Biopic is What’s Love Got to Do with it
Bohemian Rhapsody is probably the best biopic about Freddy Mercury and the band Queen. If you haven’t seen that I highly recommend
2:24 MJ what was you eating? 😂
Yeah I’m with u mj im a big fan of Tupac too but I fw biggie more for some reason I guess cause of his flows in his songs
Great reaction.I’d love it if you reacted to Surviving Compton .
You should watch Lone Survivor it's a good movie too
The reason the actor that played snoop "sounded like snoop" is because the real snoop dogg dubbed all his lines.
Good movie 💯
Ray starring Jamie Foxx or Dolomite Is My Name starring Eddie Murphy. Both movies based on True Stories.
