This is one of my favorites, and such an appropriate way to start the album. The way that you mentioned how he's taking little pieces of his overall message and stitching them together to show us how they create a singular work is too true, and actually allows this first song on the album to serve as both a tonal intro and a thematic microcosm of the album as a whole. We get the pain, we get the sick boy, we get the money game, we get the flexing and the silliness, we get the unique engineering and the rap god spitting; it's just layers on layers on layers with this guy.

The album is a tapestry of repeated words or references that make all the songs interconnected. And there are a lot of them in this song to hint at what’s to come throughout the album. I don’t know how intentional it all was cause although he did write the song much later while in Canada, Ren has also said that he didn’t originally intend it to be more than a short intro but somehow it kept growing. Maybe it’s just the way his mind works subconsciously 😅 Also don’t worry about having little knowledge of the seven sins. I grew up in a Christian country (though I have since become an atheist), but my knowledge mostly stem from the movie Se7en 🤣 Though might have something to do with it being a rather chill Protestant Christian culture here so it’s not really heavy on the sins part of the religion like Catholicism 😂

Apparently this person who made it is an aspiring film maker and his use of A.I and animation was gripping. I love this one. Though he is unflinching in talking about his pain and the problems in the world, it all flows so well. The way he keeps switching up the cadences and patterns feels like the illness constantly changing under him like Hogwarts staircases, taking him in unexpected directions. Apparently this is one of the few tracks on the album that wer written recently (since Hi Ren) as initially it was only meant to be a short introduction to the album and became one of his favourite tracks. Glad you have finally got the copyright issue sorted! More dreamies for Diva. 😂
To my amazement this is a really masterful breakdown of this song. You won’t be aware of this but I believe that REN’s idea of attributing the seven sins, to there being for one of every day of the week, is his creation. To the best of my knowledge no one has ever made this attribution before.
To me, this is such an amazingly important song!!! My goodness, it covers so much and speaks to so many of us!!! Ren has become one of my very favourite artists over tho s past year!!! Obviously he is super talented, but why I am drawn to the most is his desire for us humans to begin acting like loving people!!! Truly care for each other!!!! I know some people make it hard to love, but I bet their that way because they need love. We all aren't nice. So. E of us are awful beings. Most of us just need some actually love and encouragement!!
My favorite double in this song is "Prophets / Profits get dropped imagining heaven" There's Martin Luther and Mahatma and also just the people thinking about doing things better for us costs businesses money.
No matter what your faith or none, the seven sins are a great cautionary philosophy. I find his interpretation very thought provoking. I know he references some of them in seven sins and also in Money Game 3, but i haven't gone through to see if they are all in. Here we have envy, rage, lust, pride, greed, and in a way the bedridden time is an externally imposed sloth. And I always forget one!
