Bruh I died to the Lynels about 5 times before I killed one. But once you learn the patterns, they're a bit easier. For example, in the arenas (where you fight them before killing Ganon), run away to the other side and make him run towards you, causing him to slow down and regain his breath once he reaches the wall. This is where you can ride him with A and commit as many blows as you can before it throws you off. Do this again until it's dead - you can also use Urbosa's fury and headshots to ride him as well.
Donit after awhile they reconize what your trying to do and change there patterns, I did not even realize there where Lynels in the castle, infact I completely skipped the pathway and used ravalis gale and climbing to get to the top
Apparently, if you go directly to the final boss without restoring any of the Divine Beasts you have to battle all 4 Ganon Blights one by one (Waterblight, Fireblight, Thunderblight, Windblight) in Hyrule Castle before fighting Calamity Ganon himself.
I've done it, well I say that, I've gotten to him, literally all I have are 2 stamina upgrades and a couple weapons I picked up climbing the castle, I can't even beat the first form lmao, caught me completely off guard because I expected this

It might have been easy, but if you fight without the help of the 4 spirits and also turn off their abilities, it's an effin pain in the ass. Besides, Twilight Princess's final boss fight was a joke. Talk about anticlimax.
Is no one going to question how unnecessarily long the first phase was because he didn't Parry? (To be fair, this coming from the guy who thought the game was broken when my arrows didn't do anything to his beast phase only to realize I never equipped the bow of light in the first place.)
"my moment has finally come, brace yourself Ganon, for the sting of my revenge!" "this will be our final opportunity, we will not fail!" "lets go little guy, now, open up wide Ganon!" "a hundred years in the making, hold on princess, our moment has arrived!" man, words can not describe how epic those lines were!
@@avh7729 Probably it's not a sword, but in case it is, Ganondorf got stabbed in the chest in Twilight Princess, however, I don't know if Nintendo will follow that timeline considering how many battles we had against Ganondorf, who knows, probably they will create another story about that.
The music when you have all divine beasts and they fire the blaster fits the dialogue so well!!! It makes it feel so awesome and the work put into this game is astounding!!! MAN I LOVE THIS GAME

There are so many amazing game cutscenes that stuff like this, although looking great, is nowhere close because of the sheer amount of unbelievable ones.
This is one of the few games that actually lived up to its hype. When they first started advertising this game multiple times and all those UA-camrs got everyone excited, I was thinking this game may go against people's expectations, kind of like how CyberPunk 2077 did. Fortunately, it met everyone's expectations and then some. The use of voice actors in this game really added a nice element that we didn't know we wanted.
Owen Brown what about the form in ocarina of Time when he goes into beast form or the ones in the minish cap ( even though they may be 2d they're still freaky as hell)
Guys, the reason this boss was so easy is because Calamity Ganon was in an incomplete state by the time Link arrived to the castle. When the Calamity was defeated, he gathered all of the remaining malice and turned into Dark Beast Ganon. Dark Beast Ganon’s mind was completely overtaken by malice, so he didn’t want to do anything except destroy. Source: Hyrule Compendium
@@frname7665Zelda's power had been holding him back for those 100 years, hence the reason he could not achieve a complete form in time. That being said the moment you step into Hyrule Castles Sanctum, she was like "I cant hold him any longer!" I always think to myself that she was just tired of waiting for you to collect all of those Koroks.
I love the following cutscene with the four champions firing the Divine Beasts’ lasers at Hyrule Castle It was SO AWESOME to witness and skipping to phase 2 made freeing everyone 100% worth it
If you really think back to games like Ocarina of Time, the technical final blow was delivered by Zelda sealing Ganon to the sacred realm, sort of like how it was portrayed here. The master sword was still very crucial to sealing away Ganon because it had to weaken him to a lesser state so Zelda could step in. But what's interesting is that in just about any given event that the master sword did kill Ganondorf/Ganon, it was done so in a lesser form, examples being Twilight Princess (, but only arguably so due to Zant), A Link Between Worlds, Wind Waker, and much more. But I digress. this is definitely not the only instance Ganon was felled by other means. People are getting butthurt over nothing.
Hey Graphic design team, have you guys finished Ganon's new look? "Not yet Boss." Good because I just got done watching this movie called the Scorpion King..
To be perfectly honest, *Calamity Ganon* is my favorite form of Ganon I've ever seen from *The Legend of Zelda* franchise. We've had some menacing forms before, some just comical, but this.... Is absolutely terrifying. Perfectly fitting for the ultimate final boss of this incredibly massive and triumphant game. I love it!
I can't agree with you. Dark beast Ganon? Yeah, it does look suitable for botw's final boss but his first form was just uninspired and lame, they basically took all divine beast's bosses and mashed together to make Ganon, TP's Ganon or even MM's Majora would be good inspirations for a final boss.
@@sh0bez True, it isn't creative by design, but that style is what characterizes the controlled *Malice* that is the essence of Ganon -- A running theme, so to speak. It isn't mind-blowing, and it is used pretty repetitively, and first phase Ganon does look like mashed-together *Blight Ganons,* but I think the latter-most might literally be in concept -- Calamity Ganon did arise through corrupting the ancient machinery. Perhaps that's why he looks so hackneyed (in-universe). Either way, I really like all three of his designs (the Scourge of Hyrule Castle, it's boss form, and the Dark Beast) and no one else has to. I think that's the bottom line, though I'm open to suggestions.
@@ZedTheZ Yep. Those are the stakes. Although it would've been better if there weren't towns that, by themselves, are thriving. That's something that Joseph Anderson brought up in his critique video which I highly recommend you watch, despite it's near two hour runtime.
I can't be the only one that notices Calamity Ganon's head is the skull of Ganondorf (or at least shaped like it). He's got the same designs around the head, as seen in Twilight Princess
I love how link stay's calm while facing an ultra powerful ultimately freakish and downright abominable beast that could easily annihilate him by flicking him with their pinky.
Complaining about the battle being too easy? No worries! Raid Hyrule Castle with a defense of 15, just 3 shields (Nu-uh hylian) , Knight Broadswords, and lots of baked apples. To make it extra challenging: -no Divine Beasts! -a horse with 1 🥕! -aaand in the middle of a blood moon! Enjoy reducing the other half of Ganon's health bar! (You'll spend quite a long time, trust)
Ed. David Chang I did that, just without baked apples, I replaced the Knights broadswords with the swords in the fight chamber with a Calamity Ganon. The final boss is easy.
Blood moons suck, I defeated a shit load of guardians for a mission, unfortunately it was in the middle of a blood moon, so they respawned and almost destroyed me.
The player shouldn't go out of his way to self-impose limitations in order to make a poorly designed boss more challenging. The final boss is just flawed and the game fails to deliver difficulty or satisfaction in that regard, end of story.
Am I the only person who thinks that the cutscene before the boss with all the champions shooting at him is the best part of the game. Like from them being dead too controlling there beasts to fire at ganon like I love it 😍
Exactly. Plus the triumphant music that plays while they all give their final words and their beasts fire, it's so amazing. The first time I witnessed it my jaw was on the floor.
I was exploring the castle to find the last memory I needed to get the true ending, and I accidentally fell into a room, as I was deciding to explore it I turned around saw the lynel from the castle and immediately climbed out as fast as I could, I put on the thunder helm and ran away then I think I made it into Zelda’s room.I nearly had a heart attack finding that lynel.
@Loink The music reversed sounds like it says 'Poor Hyrule, for he has found the body' 3 times and then says 'Poor Hyrule, for he is gone' implying that by (presumably) breaking the seal on his body, Ganondorf will rise once again.
I love how the Ganondorf fight is almost the opposite of this. The champions start by attacking and taking half of Calamity Ganon’s health. Phase two of Ganondorf starts by him doubling his health.
Not to mention the part where he blasts a shockwave to get rid of the other champions so he can fight Link alone. Ganon definitely remembers that beam attack lol
Anybody else find it sad what's happened to Ganondorf? Looking back at when he was a gerudo in comparison to now. Sure he was a shithead to begin with and had transformed into a monster many times before but here he's become so mutated there's nothing left of the man he once was. Saying that he once adopted a gerudo form was right in terms of Demise's curse I suppose but he was actually a gerudo at one point and the fact that he's only ever going to be seen as a monster now with seemingly no way of ever actually dying for good it's gotta be one of the worst fates out there. I think it's more pitiful than anything how his greed and choices always lead him to this. I often wonder was he just powerful due to Demise's curse or was he always bound to become this without him ever realising that a demon sealed his fate centuries before he was even born?
I think it has something to do, that Ganon didn't choose to reincarnate (that he's given up reincarnation is probably an unfortunate translation - he's defeated "for now"). We also know from Skyward Sword that (even) dead beings can be reanimated again if their hatred is great enough - resulting in becoming "cursed" forms just like the cursed bokoblins in Skyward Sword. Keep in mind that there're also other cursed beings in BotW (primarly bokoblin, lizalfos and moblin skulls). I rather think that, since Ganon didn't reincarnate, the hatred build up to the point of him being corrupted by it and molded into this cursed form. Even to the point that he lost his conscious and is only acting mindlessly. The compendium entry of the cursed bokoblins, lizalfos and moblins share one line, that they attack anyone who approaches them. The entry of Dark Beast Ganon also states, that "although in this state, his awareness has been consumed entirely by Malice, and all he knows is a desire to rampage and destroy." Just see how the malice completely overtook Naydra. Something similar has also happened with Levias from Skyward Sword. Although he was rather corrupted by another being. But once Levias got rid of them (just like the malice eyes from Naydra), he regain conscious again.
This is pretty much like Demise's imprision form. A being of pure rage and hatred who knows nothing but destruction. Perhaps this is just a return to that point when Ganon wasn't just a a pig demon a gerudo, or anything. When he was a god like being of evil and hatred. His own reincarnated version.
@@navi189 Yep & whoever kept reincarnating Zelda & Link were banking on him losing his patience until he just said "Screw keeping that power I have reserved for reincarnating myself, I'm just going to tap into all of it because I'm sick of losing all the time!". He almost won. This is probably the closest he ever really got to winning considering he pushed the world to the brink of extinction but didn't count on everyone being technologically advanced enough to have Zelda seal him in the castle & to preserve Link for 100 years.
Idkkkkk most of them help in some way. I mean Zelda is Sheik in OOT, Tetra helps you get your sister back and aids you in the final boss, and Zelda in Twilight Princess sacrifices herself for midna so that you can get the master sword. Skyward Sword Zelda though, uh idk about her. I guess she seals herself away to keep Demise at bay?
The last equence of this masterpiece, although presenting a somewhat simple fight, is just breathtaking in its action and drama. I just wanted the ending to be a little more .... compelling. Showing what happens to all the other support characters or their tribes, more like they did with Ocarina of Time ending
The 1st time I fought him I was hyped the whole fight! The music, the pace, I love it all! But when I was riding the wind current up for the final shot a.d Zelda yells out "NOW LINK!!" as I pulled my bow! Most epic finish to a game for me personally, EVER!!
The fact that Calamity Ganon is merely a stronger phantom Ganon and the entire Great Calamity was just one small step of Demon King Ganondorf's giant, elaborate plan to free himself from Rauru's grip and finally take over Hyrule after hundreds of thousands of years of being trapped in the depths beneath the castle is just absolutely insane to think about. From the very beginning of the game, Breath of the Wild builds up Calamity Ganon as the number one threat to the entire world and that he is quite literally the physical embodiment of evil. In Tears of the Kingdom, we learn that that is not even remotely the case. Calamity Ganon was simply just a projection of the Demon King's burning hatred towards the people of Hyrule. One of the many reasons I consider this to be one of the greatest duologies in video game history.
Calamity Ganon was challenging, but i prefer dark beast for only one thing. IT'S ONE OF THE MOST EPIC BOSSES I FOUGHT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WITH THINGS LIKE FECTO ELFILIS, 2 OF THE SONIC FRONTIERS TITANS, QUEEN SECTONIA, FURY BOWSER, ODDYSSEY BOWSER, FURY BOWSER, GIGA BOWSER (bowser's fury), GALAXY BOWSER, OCTOBOT KING 2, COMMANDER TARTAR, MISTER GRIZZ, MARX, DEATH EGG ROBOT (sonic 2), AND MAYBE EVEN A FEW MORE

I don't understand why people are disappointed with dark Ganon. It's a "finish him" phase, you aren't expected to lose. You are expected to be finally be relieved that you did it, that it's finally over.
But that's cheap - an end boss has to be challenging and not just "something to do at the end" to be relived. oO Look at the Ganon from OoT f.e., THAT was a cool and epic ending fight, and had a much better finish with the sword into his head. The game is awesome in many ways, but that ending really disappointed me. Also almost no story at the end - Zelda is free and a little bit more wise than 100 years ago...that's it! oO
Your Neighbor Yeah, an excellent example of this would be like FF7's final fight with Sephiroth. You fight him with your party in his Angelic form, beat him, and then you have one last bout with him. You think it's going to be some epic 1-on-1, Cloud Vs Sephiroth final showdown...Limit Break, boom, dead. End.
Soundchaser honestly the fight with ganon in oot was easier than this one. More epic, probably, but harder? No. It might have been harder for you because you were younger but Ganon in ocarina was easier to beat than Dark Beast Ganon.

You do know that the losing half of his HP isn't a thing that is always going to happen, you can fight without the spirits.
It might have been easy, but if you fight without the help of the 4 spirits and also turn off their abilities, it's an effin pain in the ass. Besides, Twilight Princess's final boss fight was a joke. Talk about anticlimax.
SpongicX eh, ganon fights have never been hard anyways. Better than Twilight Princess.

@@mrspoopy3227 seriously bruh
The cutscene was so well directed and nicely animated I can't get enough of it. Probably one of the best video game cutscenes.
I got goosebumps listening to the soundtrack.
Why am I surprised though, they have always had good music.
This powerful of a being, generated out of a fraction of Ganondorfs power from beneath the castle is just insane
14:19 He shot Ganons Ass on purpose even though it wasn't glowing.
😭😭😭
the real fight is the first form hands down. That is easily the single most disturbing and scariest incarnation of Ganon thus far.
Anon 4ever Can't tell if hater or not.
Owen Brown what about the form in ocarina of Time when he goes into beast form or the ones in the minish cap ( even though they may be 2d they're still freaky as hell)
Ikr. Dark Beast looks easy af though, but it does feel epic to finish Dark Beast, even though the fight was easy
Scary but easy as hell. Hopefully the hard mode will change that.
In the minish cap, it is not Ganon, but Vaati
Guys, the reason this boss was so easy is because Calamity Ganon was in an incomplete state by the time Link arrived to the castle. When the Calamity was defeated, he gathered all of the remaining malice and turned into Dark Beast Ganon. Dark Beast Ganon’s mind was completely overtaken by malice, so he didn’t want to do anything except destroy.

I don’t care that it’s illogical, I care that it’s an unsatisfying end to the game
Homie had a hundred years to be complete and he couldn't be arsed
@@frname7665Zelda's power had been holding him back for those 100 years, hence the reason he could not achieve a complete form in time.

I love the following cutscene with the four champions firing the Divine Beasts’ lasers at Hyrule Castle
It was SO AWESOME to witness and skipping to phase 2 made freeing everyone 100% worth it
"the hero of hyrule... I must ask... do you really remember me?" I would laugh so much if link just said "no..."
also is was the final blow done with the light arrows/bow and not the Master Sword?!
He could have said no, he could have said yes. The door was left open to the players interpretation.
Why do you think link didn't answer?😂

To be perfectly honest, *Calamity Ganon* is my favorite form of Ganon I've ever seen from *The Legend of Zelda* franchise. We've had some menacing forms before, some just comical, but this.... Is absolutely terrifying. Perfectly fitting for the ultimate final boss of this incredibly massive and triumphant game. I love it!
Bowser Jjumetroid lol but ganondorf in the BotW 2 trailer looks way cooler but i agree
Yeah it’s that you have to destroy this beast by yourself and everyone is relying on you to keep hyrule from being infested

Raid Hyrule Castle with a defense of 15, just 3 shields (Nu-uh hylian) , Knight Broadswords, and lots of baked apples.
To make it extra challenging:
-no Divine Beasts!
A fucking toaster is right.
Ed Chang i was fighting a lynlel in a blood moon
“Courage need not be remembered, for it is never forgotten” goes so fucking hard. I love this game so much.
Jason Porter, the soundtrack to that literally gave me goosebumps. This series never ceased to impress me.
Not at all, that was the climax if you ask me.
It sort of reminded me of the four giants from Majora's Mask who all came out and stopped the moon from falling if you freed them.
Hayley Morgan No you’re not! I love that scene! Holy shit how awesome that was! 😃

@Loink The music reversed sounds like it says
'Poor Hyrule, for he has found the body' 3 times and then says
'Poor Hyrule, for he is gone' implying that by (presumably) breaking the seal on his body, Ganondorf will rise once again.
Hopefully things will be a LOT better in the sequel
That's a loyal horse. My horse in RDR2 can't even stay still when there's a little wolf around.
Mabye its those gentle horses and not the wild.
Just curious but does it break anyone else's heart looking at the castle all destroyed? Do we ever get to see it without guardians and malice?
Grace Tietze Hurts my heart knowing that Zelda has been trapped inside Ganon for a hundred years.
Yes, In the dlc, one cutscene shows the castle without any of that stuff. It’s beautiful
In champions ballad cutscene it shows us the castle without the horrible ganondorf hanging around
Does anyone know what happens when you get hit by a ancient arrow?! Seriously, where do you go?!
Naaaah.
Is it just me or does Zelda always sound like she’s doing an ASMR challenge
Nah she's just soft spoken
well it’s probably intentional since in totk her voice isn’t that soft spoken
Calamity Ganon: I am the most powerful creature in Hyrule
Lynel: Hold my bow
I personally think that the trials of constantly being struck down across the centuries has deformed Ganon/Ganondorf into this form.
Ash Norman I honestly feel bad for Ganon. 😢
The entry of Dark Beast Ganon also states, that "although in this state, his awareness has been consumed entirely by Malice, and all he knows is a desire to rampage and destroy."
Just see how the malice completely overtook Naydra.
In my opinion this version of zelda was badass, the others just kinda ran and hid. This one actually helped lol.
not really, a lot of the time they do actually help. Ocarina of Time, Spirit Tracks, Wind Waker, etc.
Well there was this one zelda from spirit tracks (I think) that possessed an armor and helped Link
BOTW Zelda sucks ass. Spirit Tracks Zelda was the best.
in Ocarina of Time ? And in wind Waker?

Perhaps there’s a reason why it isn’t so difficult. It’s just a stronger Phantom Ganon(dorf).

I don't understand why people are disappointed with dark Ganon. It's a "finish him" phase, you aren't expected to lose. You are expected to be finally be relieved that you did it, that it's finally over.
Your Neighbor THANK. YOU.
Also almost no story at the end - Zelda is free and a little bit more wise than 100 years ago...that's it! oO
Your Neighbor Were just not happy that we got a 1 stage ganon fight. Twilight Princess had 3 stages and was 3x as epic as this
Your Neighbor Yeah, an excellent example of this would be like FF7's final fight with Sephiroth.
I got to say, even though the boss fight was a little easy, it was totally worth it just to see the four Champions light up Ganon.
