Girls barely got any writing credits/opportunities (Dinah and Lauren are only credited on one or two songs on 7/27, and on self-titled all 4 girls don't even have main writing credits, despite being main writers for the album), but all 5 of them were worked to the bone. Looking at it now, I'm not surprised Camila left when she did. And the rest of the girls followed suit when they realized the group is not going to fulfill their needs anymore.

I think the key issue here is: Fifth Harmony never sold albums, the never actually sold physical or digital copies of their albums very well, like... Little Mix who was only doing great in UK, Europe and Japan, could easily sell 1 million copies when they dropped an album, while Fifth Harmony couldn't reach a 200k mark of pure sales. They were well known and well streamed, but people didn't used to BUY them, even their shows were always small shows in theaters, and sometimes it wasn't even sold out (most of the times tbh). In general, streaming is not a strong way to make money music-wise, if you write and produce your music, yes, you will get a little richer with streaming, but Fifth Harmony music was made by tons of songwriters and producers and none of them were one of the members, at least not in the billion hit songs. So... expecting them to gain tons of money from it is kinda delusional.

The label is who made the music, the producers made it, the songwriters wrote it, and so pbviously percentages will be split between a bunch of people. Artists who sing what other people make, make money from touring, merch, performances, physical CD sales (which are not as common these days due to technology and streaming) so how can they complain when they literally did not write any of the songs or pay to promote the material?

When it come to fame they are so quick to sign the contract. Contract gives the record label everything to f you over. For example let’s say the record label takes most of your ticket sales and merchandise sales album sales leaving you with less the 40-30% of the profits. If you don’t sign this deal your lost and there is you shot of being famous. The record labels can put on the contract only music producers/engineers can write your music you have no freedom in writing your music and you it’s a 4 year contract you have to release 4 albums within that year before the contract is done or the record label can sue you because you signed an agreement contract to produce 4 albums within that year. That’s why young musicians/ or actors just jump the gun even though they getting f over.
