Ever since you mentioned that you were going to observe the land sabbath, I have been eager to see this video! I absolutely LOVE that you are so obedient to God's word! It's so wonderful to see the abundance of the strawberries! Love love love that you give your 1st fruits. I know God will bless your obedience! I sure do love what you and your family do! Thank you so very much Mike! You have been a huge inspiration to me!
I have been tithing to God through my church for decades, and I have regularly given the fruit and vegetables from my garden to my church family and my neighbors. I haven’t thought about giving my first fruits from each crop. I love the inspiration to do just that. Thank you! 💕
Love your Family and I have learned so much!! Recently I asked my Neighbor what kind of Chicken feed he uses (knowing he was organic minded) He gifted me about 40 lbs of feed!!! I in turn gifted squash and your fave some Zucchini. You are right Mike… giving is so much better than receiving and is what God wants for us. Thanks and keep up the great channel 🙏🏻👍❣️
I give my first harvest to my parents and my animals.. then I give some to friends… makes the heart feel good and on top of that it just makes me want to do more and grow more 🥰
Hello 👋🏻 I am a somewhat “new sub.” You have struck my heart tonight. I have always said to others when I gift things, and people ask why? I give unconditionally to others without asking anything in return. Giving brings me GREAT JOY 🤩 ❤ I am a believer, however I do not know the scriptures well. Would you please give me the passages that you talked about and showed in this video? I would love to bring out my dusty bible and read them 🤗🤗 As a family; we are going through a very difficult time with my husbands twin sister at her end of life stage now. I need to also find comfort in the word. Thank you!
Love your channel. Zucchini is also my favorite, so versatile. Watching you and your wife work so hard to take care of your family is a delight. Blessings to your family.
I like to boil zucchini with some chopped onion, strain it, and put butter and salt and pepper on it. My husband likes it in a side dish with a little spaghetti sauce over it. Then, of course, there's always the zucchini bread I make as the season goes along. Love to watch the family and the garden successes and of course watching the children grow. God bless.
This is my first year planting my garden. I think I may have gone a little overboard on my tomato plants but I have certainly felt it on my heart to give away some of my harvest. It's my first year with chickens also and we're planning to give some to the mobile food pantry our church serves at. I'm super excited to see my garden grow.
I love that you are showing tithing! I don't have produce. I'm temporarily bed-bound, praying to be healed; while working to meet the requirements for surgery, I would prefer the former!! :D That being said, I do believe in and practice giving and tithing because God commands it. But there is also a blessing attached to it! One of the reasons your land is being so fruitful is your obedience to God's will. _Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it._ _“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: For ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts._ *~Malachi **3:10**-12* And in the New Testament: _Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again._ *Luke 6:38*
Mike you definitely have a green thumb, but it looks like you love what you're doing, so it's a labor of love, and because you're generous, you'll reap the rewards of your generosity in this life and in the next. God Bless you and your family.❤
Several years ago our pumpkin patch went out of control. We loaded our 1ton pick up bed and went to a food give away. We informed the people that were in charge and they said okay. Trust me, they thought it was my little pick up but it was the big one.... I pulled up on the 2nd load and in the cab I also had some pretty nice cloths and shoes (I decided to clear my closet cuz we were moving also) I pulled up and made an announcement to the 200 or so.ladies of the size of shoes and clothes to come to my truck if they were interested. Before I could finish my parking there was a large group of ladies waiting. I handled it nicely and efficiently. Then I gave them a couple of pumpkin also. By the way it was 2 wks before Thanksgiving. And the clothes we'd drycleaned and washed and pressed. I was tired of the corporate world and had been in it for over 30 yrs. Now I'm retired and loving it
I’m not religious so I don’t follow any books or anything like that but I do give a lot of my produce away. It’s awesome to share good produce, organically grown with others. ❤ Last year and the year before I didn’t have a kitchen to cook in but I still grew a garden and gave almost all of the food away. I ate a few things that didn’t have to be cooked like cucumber and watermelon.
I'm growing crook neck yellow squash, straight neck and also zucchini squash. My plants are popping up well, but nowhere near your harvest. I live in Massachusetts and just this week we are getting hot and humid weather. Otherwise, we've had a lot of cool temps. My garden loves the heat when it finally arrives.
Hi Mike and Lacey. We dont have land to grow a lot so we dont tithe our produce yet.We do tithe our income and time! I like the First Fruits and Land rest method. We will do this as soon as possible. We are looking for and praying for land. Thanks for sharing your journey and your faith in God!
Because you revere GOD, you tithe, because you tithe, you are blessed. Look at your produce and your happy family. I've never saw a video where you were "oh poor me" unlike some of the other homesteaders on you tube. Love your faith and attitude, it's inspiring.
I haven't tried all the varieties, but my current favorite is the yellow squash. Those are beautiful cabbages. We always brought our overabundance to share with our church family. Ever since I read about first fruits in the Bible, I have often wondered how that would work out practically. Thank you for your example.
I make sure that I grow enough to help three families that I know. They either are unable to plant or do not have the space. My husband and I deliver biweekly baskets of organic vegetables and eggs.❤
Grammy must have a big smile on her face….the baby she left behind will be well loved. Must feel so good to have a child enjoy gardening too, you are leaving your legacy behind.
The world needs more Godly men like you. Mike, you are an inspiration. Your example of love for your family and love for God's word is refreshing. May He continue to bless you and your family. I know that I have been blessed by your channel and your words.
Greetings from the Netherlands....With a Garden, youre never really "caught up" ... many times it feels like walking on an escalator the wrong way ;) First harvest for me has been so far ... potatoes, beets, cauliflower, radishes, cabbages, broccoli, onion, garlic, lettuces, strawberries and alot of herbs. and come on! .. .zinnias... cosmos and marigolds?? ..... that are exactly the only 3 flowers i started from seeds this year... and are flowering nicely. My wife and i dont follow the Bible to the lettre anymore(i was raised Roman Cathl, she was raise reformed)... but we do give produce to our local foodbank (potatoes, onions, cauliflower and garlic) 1. because we have enough an more to come, and 2. We know others dont. ... we also have a table at streetside of our driveway where i have 2 crates on with some produce for our neighbours to grab from, i also add transplants of strawberries, lettuce and flowers often
Hi Mike and Lacey, in order to get cabbage, cauliflower, kale and leafy greens, it is highly recommended to protect them from planting to harvest with white insect netting. This way the white cabbage moth will not be able to lay eggs on the vegetables and they will not be eaten by its larvae.
Praise God for your faithfulness. You are an inspiration. I have only one recommendation. Please put a hat on your precious baby. Even in shade the sun can harm. I know this from experience. God bless your family 🙏🏼😘❤️
I love zucchini too. The ones that get really big are delightful stuffed and baked. I scrape out the seeds, and stuff them with a hamburger, rice and spaghetti sauce. I cook it up and then stuff the squash, cover with cheese and bake at 350 degrees until the squash is done. It is delicious.
Yah bless you and keep you 🙌🏼 we have only gotten first fruits from zucchini until today. Gave those to a widow raising orphans. We will often give first fruits or just extra fruits away to our brothers and sisters on Shabbat at fellowship. Love your channel.
I wanted to let you know that we get a second harvest of small cabbages after our first cut, the average was 2 to 3 small ones on each plant. I also grow 4 types of squash from different species and they do not cross pollinate doing it that way. I grow one type of each pepo, moschata, maxima and mixta. And I think it is a wonderful practice to give away food from our gardens to those in need or just to share. I take food to the local food pantry as well as share with friends. No matter what religion we are the practice of giving shows others a kindness that means something to all. In these times of hardships I hope everyone can help to lessen the burden of food shortages to those in need. Bless you and your family!
I have always loved the concept of the Plant an Extra Row movement. Which is plant extra plants and donate those goods to neighbors in need or where ever you can donate this extra produce. But with zukes I don't think you have to plant extra😅.
Beautiful cabbage Mike. Gardening is so therapeutic for me. I had to stop working as a RN due to increased pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis and other chronic pain issues I find gardening helps me to provide and the dirt therapy is good for me. My husband built me a greenhouse and raised beds in the garden to help so I am not on the ground. I love watching your family. You all are special kind and giving. God bless you all.
Those zucchini flowers are delicious fried. You remove the stamens and give the blossoms a quick light wash one at a time, let them rest for a minute so any bugs can come out, then in a batter of flour, tiny bread crumbs and seltzer water, you dip the blossom in beaten eggs, then dip in the flour/breadcrumb mix and fry in olive oil. I like to add salt and pepper while its cooking. Next time you pick the zucchini, pick the blossom from it first and try this recipe. Italians love them, adults and children alike. I do too!
I'm still waiting for my zucchini squashes, Green beans and tomatoes Everything I planted was late . My chickens decided to eat my turnips and rutabagas. If God allows a good harvest in fall. I will be happy. God bless have a good gardening season🙂👍🙂
I tithe my eggs and produce plus tomato and pepper plants. I have a young man in Honduras who I support until 18 unless he drops out of school (requirements of the mission). Tithing has been part of my life until I retired. I am getting back into it as l may have found a church to attend. Otherwise, I send offerings to my nephews church I watch online. Thanks for reminding us to keep God first!!😊
Zucchini and yellow squash are my favorites. Love to saute both of them together with sliced red onions and sliced baby bella mushrooms. When they are done I top with Parmesan cheese and place under the broiler for a minute or two. Yum! Have a blessed Shabbat.
Thank Daddy God For you and your family that is the Godly thing to do I do this too and I will continue until I go to the forever Garden in. Heaven Amen
We have been giving of our produce for years probably 30 years or more first fruits are wonderful blessing to all those who do the work of God into those who can’t get out and do things for themselves. Thank you for your input.
Yes I do, give all kinds of veggies to my neighbors n friends, I can as much as we need, but I have a landscaper that comes n helps me with my garden, n he feeds his family too, n fruit too, cos I grow strawberries blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, apples, pears, peaches, apricots, plums, cherries, grapes, infact, my neighbors n I exchange, goods, they have beef, pork, chickens, n such n diary cows too, n I give them all the veggies n fruits they need, so it works out awesome, we both know where our food comes from therefore trying to be healthier. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rabbits and chickens are eating my strawberries and cabbage. My green beans will be next. I got a late start this year due to weather. Thanks for sharing your life, may God richly bless you
Yes. The Word does say, " Give and it shall be given unto you, pressed down and overflowing.....". It is a God-math and is worth every effort. Obedience is always key.
Mike! When you said that about not wanting to harvest because you have put so much time into the plant, I want you to know that that’s me! I thought I was the only one who felt that way, lol. Thank you!
Wow, those strawberries are doing wonderfully! It is very hard to stay on top of a garden and especially with a new baby! Those greens look amazing! Our favorite squash is butternut squash. Very nice Zukes Mike! That's so great you've gotten your first fruits from many crops. That cabbage looks fantastic! Great cabbage harvest Mike and Selah! Great that you put wood chips down around the flowers you planted. It did look like you had fun planting the flowers. It does feel great to give! Thanks for passing on you first fruits to God and those doing his work. Thanks for this video Dickson family!
Every.year, I share my extra produce and eggs with my church family. My pastor gets almost all of my double yolk eggs and anything spicy, because he loves hot foods. I have provided salsa and hot peppers, as well as homemade horseradish sauce. He and his wife enjoy this, and it is a way to show my appreciation for the value he adds to my life. Everyone enjoys the fresh eggs and all the other things that come from my garden. I enjoy giving and everyone enjoys the eating!!
Well , said and well , done . I got a small garden, growing bigger ever year tho . And yes I do . I haven't ate any Kale from my garden this year all given away . Blessed be our lord ! 🙏🏻
Our favorite is black beauty zucchini heirloom. We do all variety of heirloom tomatoes and same with beans and cucumbers. 😉 you should try zucchini brownies! They are my hubbies favorites.
Zucchini is my favorite too and so versatile. But I do like butternut and acorn, with arthritis they are getting too hard to cut for me. I am embarrassed to say I have a tote of cabbage patch dolls in my attic that were my children's. Ten grandkids and nobody played with them. Those cabbages are beautiful!!
Yes, I gave the best first fruit out of my garden. A huge cabbage.... I took it to the local meal kitchen program. My cabbages continued to grow so well all summer, I was able to give them 4 more. After that, I planted 4 cherry tomatoes plants so I could give those for salads and was able to give them about at least 4 or 5 gallons worth and I'm still harvesting. The meal sharing program in my area asked the churches to grow fresh veggie for them.... I thought it was a good idea, so I try and plant extra in my garden.
Mike the Fit, I am just smiling seeing the harvest God has given you and how healthy they are. Good training to your next generation. Happy they don't say food grows in supermarket. This is so good. Bringing first fruit in the house of God. Watch that small garden
I tithe monetarily and my time. Prayer ministry, communion ministry, meal ministry and serving our local community with Serve 6.8 ❤ Serving people, for God. Serving God, for people
I had never heard that scripture before. I don't know if it would qualify the same way you give but I share things from my land such as raspberries, eggs and things I grow. I usually gift foods I have preserved as Christmas gifts to my family and friends. I have told people this is my way of showing love to my people.
I always grow extra. If I need one zucchini plant, then I plant two. One for using and one for giving. I give it to the church for seniors especially who cannot get out in the garden, to the food bank etc. I love gardening, so it is a win, win situation.
This was so inspiring! God is so good and I love seeing others practice Gods word. It’s so encouraging to those who may have lost sight of who God is and what he has done for us!
my name is Deb. i am 73 and have lung cancer. I love to grow tomatoes and cucumbers. jalapeno and herbs share these with my neighbors. last year 2 plants netted 93 tomatoes.
I wish I had a freeze dryer. I would cut up my 1st fruits, Make chips out of them. For those who have Bible study out of their homes. More nourishing, A good snack. Blessings to you And your family
For the past several years. I've grown tomato plants and given them away. 12 varieties. 100 plus plants this year for anyone I talk to who wants some. I spoke with a cashier. It being her first garden. I took her 6 plants. . In the process making new friends. God is good.
First Fruits has always been part of our giving to the Lord. I agree with you it is very enjoyable. I especially practice this with the first year's crop from a tree. God has rewarded us in so many ways. The First Fruits is and expression of confidence we have that God will meet all our needs when we put Him first.
If you put plastic cups in the ground with 1/4 cup of beer in it, it will attract the slugs and the beer kills them. Non-toxic to humans and critters. It's what my Grampy used in his garden. Lavender in the garden has many uses (tea, salves, sachets, bath water, medicinal). Keep up the great works.
Nice looking vegetables keep up the good work the little one looks like your boys nice family God bless you and your family eapically the little one ❤️🔨⛏️🪓🔪🪜🔨
I ❤️ Zucchini! You can make savory or sweet recipes with it! Btw, I grew up in Atlanta and my mom made squash pickles every year! They were beyond amazing!
Yes, we do tithing at my church but we follow what the first century Christians did which doesn't go by Old Testament teachings of 10% but give with a glad and joyful heart as they did. The 10% is a good place to start but it's really what's in your heart! It's all God's anyway and I'm glad to give what I can back!
This year our garden was so late because of weather and goats and so we are just starting to get produce and we give our first fruits to our neighbors some of them aren't able to have a garden for one reason or another and they really enjoy getting the fresh veggies.
Great video a lot of us at the church I go to raise a garden so we have a table set up where we put things we have extra of even plants early in the year but I like what you said about first fruit we do tithe but first fruit good idea God bless yall
It is a blessing to me to give. I would rather give than receive makes my heart happy. Love how you live and are willing to share what the Bible says. God bless you and your family. ❤️💕🥰
When I had land I had a few gardens and would share about half of what I grew with those that couldn't have a garden or was unable to physically produce a garden.
Ever since you mentioned that you were going to observe the land sabbath, I have been eager to see this video! I absolutely LOVE that you are so obedient to God's word! Recently I asked my Neighbor what kind of Chicken feed he uses (knowing he was organic minded)
He gifted me about 40 lbs of feed!!!
I in turn gifted squash and your fave some Zucchini. You are right Mike… giving is so much better than receiving and is what God wants for us. Thanks and keep up the great channel 🙏🏻👍❣️
My grandparents grew a big garden and the edges of the garden were flowers, papa said flowers and veggies work together to create a perfect union.
I love it when you share the scriptures along with your content. It’s very inspirational 😊
May the lord bless you and your family and the animals
I give my first harvest to my parents and my animals.. then I give some to friends… makes the heart feel good and on top of that it just makes me want to do more and grow more 🥰

Those are monstrous cabbages! Seilah in the baby carrier was adorable! I'm sorry if I spelled her name wrong.😯💝
Just want to say if they are a heritage variety they will not cross polinate. I love Josiah just watching all these chenanigans and keeling over lol

Thanks for sharing your life, may God richly bless you
Alot of hard work. But it’s really paying off! The gardens are looking great. Love the vids guys. ❤️
Thank you!
In our town the local food pantry really appreciates donations of fresh produce.
God will Bless those Who Bless Others.
Yes,
I gave the best first fruit out of my garden.
Yes definitely give part of your harvest is the best part of gardening. I bring part of my home garden harvest to our church ministry garden group
I tithe monetarily and my time. Prayer ministry, communion ministry, meal ministry and serving our local community with Serve 6.8 ❤
Serving people, for God.
Yes I do give all my extra that I grow. Much love to you and your family ❤❤🙏
yes i give to my grandchildren and children and they are always so excited to harvest the food
Yes we give our first to others, such as our widowed neighbor! It is not only a Blessing to him but also to us
my name is Deb. i am 73 and have lung cancer. I love to grow tomatoes and cucumbers. jalapeno and herbs share these with my neighbors. last year 2 plants netted 93 tomatoes.
Mike thank you for your Faith butt giving the first fruits to do the ford work.
What a beautiful harvest. I just planted 2 rows of Zinnia in my garden. May you continue to be blessed abundantly. God bless you and your family ✝️
May Father bless you and yours and the works of your hand.
I will note this! Do you refill the beer when it rains?
Nice looking vegetables keep up the good work the little one looks like your boys nice family God bless you and your family eapically the little one ❤️🔨⛏️🪓🔪🪜🔨
You have a lovely strawberry patch going! Have a blessed day ❤❤❤
16:31 excellent job, soldier! We do it, because the Word tells us to. We obey the Lords word. AND the blessing returns to us ❤
I ❤️ Zucchini! You can make savory or sweet recipes with it! Btw, I grew up in Atlanta and my mom made squash pickles every year! They were beyond amazing!
Happy father Day👵💌
I love your family keep keeping on son you are a blessing to many
Beautiful harvest!! Giving is always showing love. Beautiful family…good idea to cover the baby head too. Blessings
Summer squash is my favorite! I just love the values of u and ur family. May u b blessed all the days. Ty for sharing ur lives with us
Yes, we do tithing at my church but we follow what the first century Christians did which doesn't go by Old Testament teachings of 10% but give with a glad and joyful heart as they did. The 10% is a good place to start but it's really what's in your heart! It's all God's anyway and I'm glad to give what I can back!
So blessed are those who know you
This year our garden was so late because of weather and goats and so we are just starting to get produce and we give our first fruits to our neighbors some of them aren't able to have a garden for one reason or another and they really enjoy getting the fresh veggies.
Great video a lot of us at the church I go to raise a garden so we have a table set up where we put things we have extra of even plants early in the year but I like what you said about first fruit we do tithe but first fruit good idea God bless yall
Refreshing video. Glad I found y’all. Be blessed brother in Christ.
It is a blessing to me to give. I would rather give than receive makes my heart happy. Love how you live and are willing to share what the Bible says. God bless you and your family. ❤️💕🥰
Sure you touched the ❤️ of God Almighty with your giving
When I had land I had a few gardens and would share about half of what I grew with those that couldn't have a garden or was unable to physically produce a garden.
Oyes i truely believe in giving God has bless me beyond measure
Man those cabbages look awesome. Keep up the good work and may the Lord Jesus bless you and your family.
The wonderful blessings of God😊💜👍
I forgot about a cabbage in my fridge and 2 baby new ones began to grow from the root stem of the mother plant.
God bless you 🙏 Mike and your family
